many pvp veterans, where is your pride?

i think its very lame see and feel so many pvp veterans (vr14 and many cp) destroying helpless lower ranks, especially repeatedly is small time frame. Where is your pride i want to know? do you realize that lower ranks are not there for cp farming for trials speedruns but do some quests in cyrodiil is the only way to become good aly or strong enough enemy in a reasonable time frame? And no, cadwell crap is not content i want play with my main, thanks for asking. Now i am vr11 and only once (when i was vr1) i was letting live, since than veterans really like roflstomping others, from behind especially and at more numbers too, power creep is so huge in this game, once someone make first hit on me i have no chance. Zenimax told us you cant have instanced pvp, so there is no chance play against equally geared enemy sadly. And yes when i easy kill someone (rarely) i will not killing him again even if i can easily, i let him play couse i know how hard it is. And no i dont want to build a city in one day i want have fun with game and boring grinding is not the way it is expected to play i think. my guild is big, but not so active to play with me so often. So what is forum folks thinks about it, i am curious...

there are a lot of bad sports in PvP games and ESO is no exception

a friend once said "Frags don't smell" in a game long ago, it was dead-on

no one cares they killed 20 v3's they just want to say they went 20-0.

Yea, but as a DK and a NB it's not that simple to gank me, shield stacking and cloak, I'll usually just turn around pissed off and blow you up.

This helps as well, I remember most people's names by heart, if they're an enemy, I kill them or try to, if it's someone I've never seen before I'll be a little more wary. I actually kind of feel bad, north of Aleswell at the dolmen I was doing it with my group and a little blue sorc came over, nobody attacked him cause he was just watching, then he dropped an Atronach on the mobs, and instinctively I turned around and vaporized him, felt like an *** afterwards, but the fear of being filled with Lethal Arrows or Blown to death by the FOTM 2Hers has made me jumpy.

Where is my pride? It's PVP. It's a warzone. You go to Cyrodiil, you're a target. I don't assume based on your level that I should leave you alone. I assume you're possibly with somebody else, stealthing, so my job is take you out ASAP so I can reduce the number of targets which can attack me (especially given DC are outnumbered about 10 to 1 on Thornblade).

I like to tease lowbies in the vet campaigns. Walk up to them /drum or something, give them a bash, but if they try to fight me its on and I will go all out.

Also lowbies arent exactly weaklings. A good player with a low level character can be a nasty nasty thing, as they have higher resource pools due to battle leveling, and can get just as high regen with the right drink buffs. Only a fool underestimates a low level player now (especially if they are over level 30 or so and have access to most of their class and weapon skills).

    Yep.

In war, would a general kill an enemy private? Would a tank not machine gun down an enemy infantry man or look the other way because the target is too squishy? If a bomber was ordered to target an enemy training camp (oh noobs galore!) should they not take it out because they are just going to blow up beginners?

    To the OP:

Yeah yeah, this is a game some might say, give the enemy a break it's all in fun. Well...
    1) There are plenty of players that indiscriminately put on their warface and kill all enemies and see that as the whole point. Those that don't share that ideal and have some degree of carebear in them will always see these players as a "problem"
    2) The cool thing about it is that in a game, you get to respawn. And since you can do that, there is the potential there to, ahem, learn.
    3) There are ways to minimize getting victimized.

    If you:
    1) Can't learn
    2) or feel entitled to "fair" PvP as you see it
    3) or can't get past #2 therefore don't bother putting time into learning or adjusting
    4) or are treating this like a single player game (it's an MMO and further it's PvP which isn't limited to 1v1 or level v14 versus level v14)

Then my advise You better ask somebody.

But trying to advocate some sort of moral code or PvP behavioral shift towards "taking it easy" on such and such is problematic because:
    1) Good luck getting everyone to follow it
    2) Good luck defining the gray area of who shouldn't get attacked and in what situations
    3) You're not going to garner much respect from the player base that plays alliance WAR as WAR and want to play as such and made to feel bad for wanting that level of immersion.

And to the OP or anyone that makes an appeal to lack of "pride" in engaging with an enemy that is whatever degree weaker, I say, where is YOUR pride in not dusting off you self after respawn, shrugging it off, learning from it, going back out there again, getting stronger, and getting back into the fight?

Also, if PvE-land or cadwells or whatever is not providing better places to PvE than Cyrodiil for whatever reasons, coming into Cyrodiil and wanting it to be PvE or pushing for things to make it more PvE is just a fundamental mismatch that one might say, uh, derp?

    TL:DR
In PvP, no one should be telling anyone how to play, if someone gives you a break, fine good for you, if not, don't QQ about it and don't -expect- it.

Funny thats similar to what a v14 whispered me in Chill the other night while I was on my lowbie...though it was more like : "I didn't notice your rank and level until just after my second snipe hit you."

I remember wandering around bloodthorn after playing on a dead Dawnbreaker 1.0 campaign. We got bored and decided we'd find some good fights ! About 20 minutes in i got facerolled by some v3 dk. I was v7 and pretty pissed. It took two of us (and one of us definetly got rekt) before that SoB went down. I think his name was Sypher or something. Our little group tried to 1v1 that v3 dk but he proceeeded to beat us in a variety of ways.

Most don't pay attention to the enemies rank or level when there's many players around, all they see is AP and pew-pew. No one is going to like stop attacking because one guy in the cluster-*** is VR1.

But I'll agree that it's bad sportsmanship killing a low level that's clearly on his own, clearly questing or desperately trying to reach a skyshard. I know you have every right to, it's a warzone, but still not the coolest thing to do.

In the best of worlds, if they're below VR doing PvE, I will just bunnyjump or play the flute or something. They might play the drum or make a silly dance and everyone is warm and fuzzy in PvP land and no one will go splat that day. But that's usually no the case.

Most low level PvE'ers will attack me instantly, even a level 30 with some baby dagger, so I have to kill them to make it stop so I cant mount again. Than there's the VR2 guy I didn't kill, who later decided to go sneak and sucker-punch me from behind with a 2-Hander. I actually died because I had so many NPC's on me lol. Most lower levels questing will also join in and "help" if someone else from their faction arrives to the location. Than you probably regret not taking them out of the equation earlier.

Panda - you cant convince me to let a lower lvl player live due to "honor". How many times has your "honor" gotten your own allies killed after that lowbie level 30 set up a coldharbour siege and decimated a friendly raid?

If I see another player, regardless of level, in a Cyrodiil dungeon or PVE town, I won't engage unless they attack first. I know that when I'm in those locations, I'm just trying to get my achievement/complete my quest and get the truck out.

Low level players who are around or on their way to keeps/resources are fair game though. I find solace in the idea that they could be players with several VR14 characters who are leveling an alt for a flavor of the month build...always a silver lining.
