I prefer to quest, do dungeons, pvp etc with guildmates and I don't mind going out of my way on occasion to help the occasional guy looking for help on World Bosses or something in Zone either. I often try to extend group invites if I'm in a public dungeon also if I see someone entering with me. Sometimes it can be annoying though because many people tend to ZOOM through content without paying attention to what the significance of said content is. They just want to loot and level ASAP haha.
That being said, sometimes on alts I'll just rock quests solo and group for dungeon runs or pvp. My favorite times though are questing with RL pals or with others using the ol voice server.

The zooming through content problem really spoils things for me. I also don't like that another group member can progress a dungeon quest for me so I don't know if I missed part of the narrative.

I really dislike Craglorn because it is an open area where you need to group. Grouping for dungeons is great. It is horrible in Craglorn because it is an open-ended commitment and there is no good way to find people who need the quests you want to finish (assuming you know what quests are out there waiting to be finished).

I couldn't agree more. Craglorn is definitely broken. It's virtually impossible to find other players on the same quests as you, and you, well at least I can't solo it. I die too much and get nothing accomplished. It makes Craglorn just a place I don't want to go because it's essentially useless to me. I hope Bethesda/Zenimax pays attention. Why have a complete group province when half or more of the players of the game prefer to play solo?

Really? One province, out of how many? 16 plus small starter islands and zones? The issue shouldn't be that there is one province that is geared toward group play, the issue should be there's no alternative for the PVE player at VR11-14.

It would be fine if it wasn't for Veterans who have already completed the other areas. If Craglorn was acceptable for solo play it would add to the Veteran content. Right?

I prefer to advance (or retreat) at my own pace and I certainly don't want to hinder someone else's enjoyment so I solo. It might have been different had I been playing games all my life as many have but physical disabilities (I'm old and female) prevented that.

Both, but more solo. While leveling my alts if I see someone asking for help at a dolmen or WB, I go help.

It took me a while to get used to group play. This is my first MMO. Once I became familiar with the various roles within a group and how to work with other members, it was much more fun. Now i really prefer it even though I am still soloing most of the time to level characters.

ESO as a single player game is mediocre at very best. Compare this to a game like Skyrim, Witcher, Divinity, Pillars of Eternity, Deus Ex, or any other good single player RPGs and this would be a grindy, non immersive, linear blob of nothingness. This is what I think about when I think of this game as a solo experience.

Yeah, this bugs me too. If I'm doing a quest or dungeon for the first time I like to get all of the dialogue and all of the story. I want to know what's going on - I don't just want to know "Oh, OK, I guess we're fighting this guy now."

That is our point. I am at VR11 and everything is done in the other zones. Craglorn is all that is left for me (where I'm not sure I've managed to complete a single quest, though I'm close to the end of some and just need to get a group to go into group delves) apart from repeating dungeons in dailies and the grind of PvP.

There's a section on the forums here:
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/categories/en-pc-mac-na (for NA server)
    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/categories/en-pc-mac-eu (for EU server)

And yes, there are some great guilds. I'm very happy with 2 of the guilds I'm in (one of which is just me and a bunch of my real life friends, and the other is Lone Wolf Help, whose GM has actually posted in this very thread).

I have the same issue as you, @jkemmery , except where groups fall short for me is being respectful of immersive play. If I had a group that played on the same wavelength, or even respected mine, I would be a group player.

Both tbh, although in PvE, it really depends on my mood, or the people that are about, but I prefer solo in PvE.

PvP has to be in a group.

If you are EP NA, I'm always happy to run through Craglorn quests. So are many of my guildies. And there are only two parts in the main quest line where you absolutely need 4 players. All the other stuff can be accomplished with less.

For me, grouping in ESO is too much a group-with-friends-then-play kind of thing. I think ideally, I'd rather have the option to play-then-group-with-characters .

The way I see it, grouping as it is drags you out of the game world, as you have to address players via media outside of the game world (the console, grouping tool, team-speak, IRL) rather than addressing characters in the game world.

No option for both, so I've selected solo, as I do more of that than as a group. However, I also enjoy group play, especially as a pair with my husband (who has just started playing, yey!) or with a group of good mates.

During work/school hours, I play solo, as I'm retired with little else to do once the day's chores are finished. :)
