Solo or Group player?

I pretty much only play the game solo. I've tried in groups, but it just doesn't do it for me; it's hard to find other players that are on the same level as me, which is, admittedly, at the bottom end of the skill spectrum. I feel like I'm a hindrance to the others. I don't have a problem with this, but, I just wanted to make a poll to see how people preferred to play, either solo, or in a group?

I'm an odd duck. At first, other than with my BF, I played this game completely solo, was not a fan of grouping at all. I created a guild and got to know some people, now I absolutely love grouping up.. although, I do enjoy questing and whatnot on my own. I also still don't care for grouping up with people I don't know. It's not a matter of "oh no they may not have enough skill" it's just a matter of knowing who you're with, and therefore able to have fun and joke around so the grouping experience is fun. Although, I have grouped up with others and made friends. *sigh* I don't know. I guess I'm an ex-solo, now grouper?

In PvE I pretty much avoid group content because of how much hassle it can be to get a group together who want to do the same content as you. So PvE I'm pretty much solo all the time.

In PvP I find it much easier to find groups that I enjoy and am pretty much always in a group.

Edit: I'm not sure how to answer your poll.

    What he said^.

I solo grind my alts sometimes because most other players move too slow or schedules don't match up but it's rare. Usually with at least 1 other player.

Both. Kinda like @MissBizz said I like grouping with people I know and talk to/play with often.

However, I am also not a fan of ESO's end game set up. The RNG system simply isn't enough to make me want to group. If they ever go token based, I'll group a lot more but the cost/reward is just crap right now (imo)

I group all the time with pickups. Sometimes I have to wait about 15 minutes to get picked up from zone chat, but doing it on a healer, I've yet to run into any issues. I'm also a good healer, so people often add me to their friend list.

I play mostly solo, but I do enjoy the social aspect of chatting with guild-mates and friends. I do enjoy grouping as well (it can be a lot of fun), it's just that for most of my time playing I prefer to do my own thing, partly because then I'm on my own schedule and I can putter about and do whatever I feel like doing at any given moment without feeling like I'm holding someone else up. I often spend a lot of time hopping from one alt to another as well, which is not very conducive to grouping.

This game was made to solo. I couldn't say that when it first hit because all mobs were hard and you needed to find the right combo to kill them. I loved that challenge back then. Today it is just quest do it repeat. I hate to say it but I been finding LOTRO more enjoyable than ESO. At least you know what you are getting in LOTRO with a better story line.

I like "drive-by grouping"... going all the way back to UO.

Depending on which one of my characters I'm playing at any moment, if someone needs a heal, I heal them. If someone needs a tank, I tank for them. If someone needs DPS, I DPS for them.

Like yesterday I was on my 2-Hd weapon specced Templar in one of the mid-level zones and saw a guy (newb, I think) get killed by a zone boss. I was just passing through, having completed all the local quests, but I rezzed him and then tanked/healed (hybrid character) for him to help him get the kill.

The kid was excited afterwards, like it was Christmas (so it had to have been a kid) ... and my assistance was obviously much appreciated.

That to me is much more fun than rigid grouping.

Beyond that, the game is 99.99% solo, so I'm going to solo most of the time.

I agree with the second part of your statement, but not the first. Even though I mostly play solo (and I enjoy it), I would say that the most fun gameplay I have had in ESO has been group.

If I'm on a healer character, I'll usually throw some heals to pretty much anyone I pass by who's fighting. If I'm not on a healer, I'll only join in on someone's fight if it looks to me like they're in trouble.

I prefer to quest, do dungeons, pvp etc with guildmates and I don't mind going out of my way on occasion to help the occasional guy looking for help on World Bosses or something in Zone either. I often try to extend group invites if I'm in a public dungeon also if I see someone entering with me. Sometimes it can be annoying though because many people tend to ZOOM through content without paying attention to what the significance of said content is. They just want to loot and level ASAP haha.
That being said, sometimes on alts I'll just rock quests solo and group for dungeon runs or pvp. My favorite times though are questing with RL pals or with others using the ol voice server.

I don't mind solo'ing at all. But grouping always gave me the most laughing, strongest memoires, friendships, action and biggest sense of achievement.

I cant say I have any "solo moment" from MMO's that I still remember today. Few wack quests with a twist maybe. But no way near as memorable as the fun I've had in groups

I wish there actually was a bit more group content in the game. I love the instanced dungeons, and wish there were more of them. I know there's a good amount, but more wouldn't hurt.

I solo as I can do what I want when I want too. I also swap characters a lot. I am leveling 8 characters at the same time and find grouping to much of a pain to get going and take to much time.

I do group with others some times when asked. I will help a player if I think they need it and would like help. It hard to tell in this game sometimes. I prefer to kill the mobs and bosses myself if I can. So don't like to interfere with others by butting in and attacking a mob they might want to solo.

Solo. Until the character reaches the point of no choice. I really dislike Craglorn because it is an open area where you need to group. Grouping for dungeons is great. It is horrible in Craglorn because it is an open-ended commitment and there is no good way to find people who need the quests you want to finish (assuming you know what quests are out there waiting to be finished).

I enjoy group content too, if there is TeamSpeak. Typing in chat while playing is just horrible. I also can't stand having to look for comments in chat while trying to play the game. And I like when content is tricky enough that you really need communication during a fight.

I like casually running around on my own. I like the challenge of seeing what I can solo, though it admittedly means dying a lot. I also enjoy chatting with guild members while playing, but it can really ruin my ability to enjoy the quests.
