weighted weapon trait..

..is absolutely pointless and I cringe every single time I see it on my weapon trait list. Are there any plans to change this to something that actually MIGHT be usable? You removed the "increase attack speed" abilities from the game, why does this weapon trait still exist?

Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

Wouldnt the weighted trait affect the heavy attack swing? Not too sure if that changes the dps but it does affect it to a certain extent.

I was trying to figure out which trait I wanted on my 1 hander and decided to retry this yesterday. If there is a difference it's not obvious. It seemed like it reduced the time at the end of the swing...the time the sword continues to swing after it hits the mark. It was so minimal I couldn't tell if I was seeing things or not.

Maybe it should also reduce all of the cast times and internal GCD's by a certain percentage. Wait, that would affect Templars to a large extent and not much else.

I admit some life had been sapped from me with adjustments to Haste, Agility, Torug's Pact bug... That I've abandoned testing 1.6 weighted. May give it another shot.

I think of Weighted revision could reduce the cost of weapon abilities. An easier to wield weapon allowing us to conserve resources just a little bit

Weighted trait works and it is a usefull trait in some builds focussing on Light/Heavy attacks like Werewolves and Overload builds.

I found that heavy attack casting time on my staff has same value with and without weighted so its bugged.
Some people pointed that if it would work it would be OP. Which isnt true.
How much of your dps light and heavies are doing? Like 20%? That would not be a super huge boost and finally it wouldnt be useless trait.

Weighted would be great if it worked, but I've never seen any evidence that it does.

Increased Attack speed in ESO modifies time between attacks instead of animation speed*

While the windup and recover time for different weapon types is different, the time between attacks seems fairly similar across the board. That means it is not actually a percentage increase but more like a flat few milliseconds speedup. So fast weapons like light attacks with dual wielded daggers benefit more than slow weapons and heavy attacks.

I still think the unwillingness to modify animation timings is due to some animator with an inflated ego claiming that his melee animations would not feel 'impactful' or 'connecting' if they where sped up. But I'm considering it might be because the engine is just very poor at detecting when animations end and a workaround with hardcoded timings is the cause of unintended global cooldowns.

    * source: I know that is old but aside from the channeling bug, far as I know this info still applies.

Yeah it would allow some out of the box builds to appear which is good for diversity in MMO

I've thoroughly tested Weighted trait weapons in my heavy attack focused build and it has no noticeable effect on DPS. What do have noticeable effect are Precise, Sharpened, and Powered (I went with Precise, best damage averages from my DPS tests).

Weighed is virtually worthless especially with animation cancelling. You'll get the same DPS if you use Training trait weapons.

In my opinion, Weighted should be functionally changed to increase resource gain from heavy attacks.

Well it might be useless in your build, but my Werewolf got plenty of use with that trait when I spam my light attacks or when I need to connect a heavy attack on a feared target running away. It might not have the versatility of Precise, but it does work in some very specific builds.

so does it reduce the cool down between attacks or not? does it do anything cause if it reduces the gcd between la i might have a use for it.

Weighted reduces the Global Cooldown (GCD) between attacks, but it does not reduce the animation duration of the attack in question. To effectively use weighted, you pretty much need to animation cancel.

Do note that there is a hardcap on the maximum amount of +attack speed which you can get, which is +30%. At this cap, attacks have a 1.05 second GCD between attacks instead of the standard 1.3 second GCD.

Insanity is the price of Knowledge. Herma-Mora and Sheogorath, this one bows before thee.

This one does not advocate for any class to be nerfed. There are far deeper underlying issues then a simple "Class Imbalance". The Champion System is the problem. Not classes.
