Suggestion for a Non-PVP Cyrodiil Instance

A Non-PvP Cyrodiil instance would be very beneficial to the game.
  • There are many people who dislike PvP very much.
  • Many people have trouble getting experience upon completing "Cadwell's Gold"
  • A Non-PvP instance would allow people to do quests in Cyrodiil without worry of other players killing them on sight.

There would need to be restrictions on the instance though. A lack of benefits found in the pvp campaigns would be necessary ( a lack of buffs from scrolls, emporership, etc...

Another way to do it could be to allow the option of entering a low populated campaign and acquiring an effect (liek a buff, talk an npc to get it, step through a gateway, etc...) that would prevent the player from interacting with players lacking the effect, and players not in your alliance (a player in AD could not attack a player from DC, and a player could not heal or buff other players of the same alliance unless they were also under the same effect.)

This would allow for people to enjoy the PvE aspect of the massive zone of Cyrodiil.

Please comment your thoughts on it (agree, disagree, etc.)

    Not really sure what PvE people think they are missing out on in Cyrodiil...basic quest and delves. It's not like the PvE zones with much more story driven quest with lots of dialogue. My question to you is if they removed the skyshards and the achievements from a PvE version of Cyrodiil how many of you would still want to go there? I say if you want to experience cyrodiil you have to fight for it like the rest of us did. I'm not typically a pvp person but I still manage to have fun out there every once in awhile.

    I managed to solo the PvE quests in cyrodiil. I guested into a campaign that was mostly controlled by the faction I play in, and just did it as quick as possible. Yes there were a few incidents of running into a group of opponents, but if I died, I just went to another town and started doing those quests.

    I managed to get 90% of the skyshards out there by myself and I have to say I kinda liked the rush of sneaking in the middle of a field and having 10 opposing players ride past me just outside of detection range.

    With silver and gold quest areas and craglorn a player should easily make vet 14. My latest is on par to be at least vet 12 when finished with Gold. Currently vet 8 after finishing the 6th vet zone.

    there used to be campaigns that a faction owned entirely, those were taken out. What people are missing is the opportunity for advancement to vet14.

    A fair amount of people dont like having to group to get to top level. A lot of people are only vet 12 upon completion of ALL the content in the vet zones.

    Craglorn is almost impossible to solo, and many quests require a group to complete.

    This doesnt leave any way to advance for those people.

    Change title, petition is on the no-no list and they will lock you

    Otherwise you have my vote, I used to want to build a toon for pvp and go try it out, changes to pve because of pvp in the last year have killed any desire I had at all to even try it. Not to mention the requested nerfs week after week....from pvp players.

    I apologise, I didn't state in my post that I'm no fan of PVP. It's not greatly my thing. But I do find the PvP in this game kind of fun. It's fun wandering around Cyrodiil with constant threat of meeting enemy players.

    The last couple of weeks I've been joining in with sieges and groups and it's making me want to do more. Find a group and try it. You might actually grow to like it. I certainly am.

    If you want to see all the dungeons you have to group up. Have you grouped up to do all the dungeons? If so why are you able to group for those but not group for craglorn or cyrodiil? If you haven't grouped up to do dungeons than why are you so desperate to see the one piece of group content that is designed specifically for PvP which you don't like? I would say make petitions for the dungeons, vet dungeons, trials and craglorn soloable before even thinking about having the one PvP zone converted to a soloable PvE zone.

    Im not asking for a the zone to be converted, im asking for an instance of the zone where people can go to the delves and dolmens and skyshards without having to run an hour to each only to get ganked when they get there.

    I agree with this notion. Maybe an instance that has more Quest NPCs and story, though i think a lot of this is going to be covered in the imperial city (from what ive heard in passing, don't take my word as meaningful on it)

    I really don't know why people are so afraid of Cyrodiil.

    I've done all the PvE there on my main, have all the skyshards and dungeons with my sorc (but she still needs most of the quests) and my templar has done all the quests from the quest hubs (but still needs quite a few of the dungeons and dungeon bosses).

    I've been to Cyrodiil dozens of times for PvE with friends, dolmen runs and whatnot and you hardly ever run into another player. I think it's happened to me twice or maybe three times that I was ganked on the opposite side of the map.

    And I don't even go to a campaign that's friendly to my alliance.

    Really, just spend some time in Cyrodiil. Take some basic precautions (like stealthing when you go in or out of a dungeon) and have fun!

    Would love to see Cyrodiil fixed and expanded upon in its current incarnation. Highly approve of the idea of increase the amount of quests in Cyrodiil, so long as they are implemented in Cyrodiil as it exists now.

    Have no desire to move to a pure PvE campaign though -- defending myself from ganks has been some of the most exciting content in the game thus far. Playing in a pure PvE version of Cyrodiil would cheapen the experience and the war-oriented story behind the game.

    PvE in Cyrodiil is currently the most enjoyable experience in the game to me; changing the campaign to remove any incidence of PvP would turn it into a vast empty snore fest though.

    No thanks. I rarely pvp but I think the experience of Cyrodiil would be lack luster without the threat of getting killed by other players. Besides it would look funny with all these keeps and nothing going on.

    It might meet the desires of a handful.

    Think that a fix to performance issues would meet the desires of many more.

    Personally though, as someone who actively engages in Cyrodiil PvE on a regular and consistent basis, would not make use of such a campaign.
