What does easter and christmas have to do with them doing something for the 1 yr anniversary? Those are holidays that have nothing to do with the lore. Also they havent even mentioned it. You telling me that they are so busy they cant even post a little "thank you loyal customers for your patronage this past year" or anything? Come on.

you ideas the same everybody's demanding that they make all these fixes and that new content and then everybody wants for special events and special recognition for an anniversary and although they have not been mentioned in this thread there have been multiple threads made white people what they celebrated in game as well.

bottom line I think an anniversary present should be at the bottom of the list of priorities at this particular moment.

Who asked for a present? Also considering they have stated we get no new content until the console launch "settles down". So looking at fall.

bottom line is you want to do something for the. anniversary call it the present don't call it a present call it a special pat on the back for being such a loyal fan either way its a waste of time and resources because if they get sidetracked too much new content won't come until way after fall.

When I say do something maybe they could like post something on the forum. I mean you act like flipping a switch giving everyone a 10% xp bonus for the day would take some team of developers years to do. Its a flip of a switch. Also things they could do could entail maybe giving everyone 10% off store purchase coupon or something. All easily done and I doubt the guy who does store coupons is working on the imperial city.

you do realize even doing something as simple as a 10% experience boost for the day is a lot more complicated than just flipping a switch. secondly what does it matter if they recognize anniversary or not?

Its not more complicated. You hit a button that changes a flag. Mailing a 10% coupon is as easy as hitting "send all" and enter.

well I'm glad to know I'm talking to somebody who spends their life programming lines of code for computers. aside from that though there is no need for them to do anything for the anniversary when there are more important things to be done. it is very clear we're not going to agree so have a wonderful night.

Lack of something so simple and basic as 1 year celebrations, just shows how little we have to look forward to till console launch. Tamriel Unlimited launch should have been on same day as console launch. As it is all the players they got back with relaunch, will be lost due to huge boring no content at all period that is ahead of us.

I've never played any other MMO with such a lack of interaction from GM's or events. Other games had cool mini events in game for everyone to take part in for basically EVERY holiday or date of significance. I guess the "lore friendly" mongers wouldn't want any of this to happen though.

It's not just the Dev's anniversary, it's the community's anniversary. Yes, it's THEIR game but what would the game be without us?

The celebration should be from both sides of the community, not just from the community to the devs.

    Both.

In an MMORPG is important to each of its aspects, it is true that improve the game issues has more relevance, but take care of the community and be attentive to this remains an important factor.

It may seem ridiculous, but such oversights can plant the idea that really are not interested in those who are now, and his real interest is that there is always someone.

This manifests with companies that have no real interest in their current consumers but what worries them is that there are always consumers, leading to continuous recycling of the community, with users coming and going.

When prove to be attentive to these details is because they transmit their interest for which they are now, that make your existing community.

That is why it is important to take care of these details.

honestly... it's more important to be a part of and to foster a rich community. A happy, involved community is less likely to moan and complain about small issues. If there were weekly or monthly developer events and Tamrielic Holidays and ESO felt like a community.

Yes, there are those that have built a community within ESO but that's really the 1%, most of us will have a few friends and aren't doing things like RP nights or machinima type videos or making appearances on ESO Live. Most of us are just playing the game, and the developers making those players feel like they are part of a community really is vital to the long term viability of a game community.

There will always be those that build a community outside of the game world, but to foster the entirety of the community, the developers need to take the community TO the people with in game events and developer interaction and in-game tools to nurture a community (LFG tool & Guild tools... why don't we have better of both?). To not do so makes the majority of us feel like were inconsequential.

and maybe @Betahkiin is right. Maybe....
    Betahkiin wrote: »

I'm giving ZOS the benefit of the doubt when it comes to ESO. They spent the past year trying to fix ESO to make Cyrodill balanced, to make the builds balanced, trying (keyword there) to reduce lag, and to make it more the game that the community wanted ([sarcasm] because VET ranks were/are SOOOOO horrible [/sarcasm]). After the initial sales of ESO, and negotiations with Microsoft (pure conjecture), they were likely mandated by those that make the decisions to make ESO Buy to Play... so they had to put a lot of focus into that, then there's the console release, which is requiring a reworking of the UI.

While that in no way makes it alright that the only 'official' mention of the 1st year anniversary from ZOS is a tweet in which they sent out a link to the video made by Elloa, I'm not writing off ZOS as a company that doesn't care about its community quite yet.

I have faith that the best is yet to come.

As I stated yesterday what's more important, a pat on the back for being here a year or the bilug fixes and new content everyone wants?

In a car, which is the most important engine or fuel?

I would be all for ZOS doing it all if they had an infinite number of employees and resources. Since they don't have that I appreciate the fact that things like this are pushed to the bottom of the list of priorities.

A small mention on the official website and a letter in the game is something they can plan from the first day he decides to create a MMORPG.

When one faces a long-term project some things are unpredictable and others not. It is more than obvious that a product of these features is designed to last over time, so that anniversaries are something that from the first day they know that will happen (on success and continuity).

This is the gesture, at this point I personally am not asking for a party in the game with graphics changes, sound, incorporation of new lines of dialogue, mechanical interaction for the event, new items for the holiday, etc.

I would appreciate just a note on the official website, in forums and message my character as a way to celebrate your anniversary.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

I find it unusual yet not surprising. Slightly disappointed there's nothing to mark the anniversary.

Events are fun. Fosters goodwill. Right now it seems they talked and went "Meh who cares so its been a year big deal. Tell em pony up some cash for some crowns if they want something for the anniversary.".
