Do we seriously have no plans for the one year anniversary of the launch of the game?

Noting the passage of time in online communities is usually a big deal and an opportunity for the developer/publisher that they usually take advantage of. Amy Jo Kim even made it one of her 10 rules during her 15 minutes of fame before the launch of her ill fated game, There.

It's as basic as having something to drink with your food...oh wait...

I've never encountered an MMO that hasn't celebrated it's first year milestone in a big way. The official date is still 3 days away though, and I suspect we'll see some festivities then (unless ZOS feels there is nothing to really celebrate...).

Just wanted to make clear I never asked for anything like a mount or special costume etc. We already got those. Maybe a 10% bonus for everyone (i.e plus users get 20%) for the day. Possibly give a little more gold per kill. Something like that. Nothing that would take a whole lot of dev time.

    So excited...

A full year as paying beta tester... I sure feel like ZOS owns me a unique pet that won't be available
in crown store until a full week passed.
Maybe ZOS should also tell us how much they appreciate the crown store they made due to the demands
from the community (whichever they mean).
Of course it can be that the horrendous lag dragged their offices into a different time zone so we missed the announcment.
Or the mail hasn't arrived yet and we just have to change zone to trigger delivery. Paris seems nice.
Or mail horse can't get over the pebbles on the way. Streets are a mess theese days.
But best bet is the error is on our side and we just have to reset our router to get an instant party invitation.

I'm so excited what ZOS has in mind for us.
(Too bad we can't farm LOLs anymore...)

There is not that much to celebrate. ESO PC was a lukewarm success at best, mediocre reviews, disappointing sales / sub numbers, rocky first year...

This whole thread can be summed up with just two words...

    Conditioned Entitlement

We don't need any anniversary event or gifts. I would rather have the development team work on the game's hitching, lagging, and future DLC expansions.
"And it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days. The fact that the word "monetized" exists points to the heart of the issue for us: We don't want the player to worry about which parts of the game to pay for - with our system, they get it all."

Probably we should get them some tranquilizers cause of all the people who have been fraying their nerves. Not just people, but the junky megaserver too . . . and I've been saying all along . . . the real megaserver is still in Matt Firor's home being used as a coffee table.

Some of the things you guys post and..........complain about sigh. They don't need to do anything special.

I assume this is your first MMO? Aniversarys are pretty much standard MMO thing. It is okay to try to be different but why be different in those funny things that nobody hates?

I can give this back to you, is ESO your first MMO?

Anniversary's are not a must have in MMO´s and quite often they are just another pointless achievement on an account. To assume a company will throw out DLC´s, Mounts, Boosts whatever just because the game is a year old, is silly.

You guys always want, want and want - what's wrong with people these days? What ESO definitely doesn't need is some clowns costume in the shop to celebrate 1 year, just like we don't need yet another mount, pet or whatever just to make you guys that cant get enough, happy. What will be the next, a 13 month anniversary for yet another pointless reward that you look at once and then throw away?

Sorry, but its really becoming pointless now with the hate you guys throw at this game. Love it or leave it that's what Americans say and maybe its what some of you should consider.

OPs point was that it's weird that it's not being mentioned, not "gimme stuff". You're a little quick to call someone a complainer.

Geez people, the thread poster's just pointing out it's odd ESO isn't publicly acknowledging it's been a year since launch, not asking for free mounts or costumes or anything. It's no wonder the morale of people on this forum seems so bad sometimes, if you assume the worst of people, other posters and the game developers themselves.

So all those progression halting quest bugs were a myth? What about the item duplication bug? Bots perma-farming delves?

PvP may have been less laggy though, true.

Had 3 noticeably bugged quests out of my 1st hundred. One non-spawning NPC fixed itself after a few hours, one glitched quest advance that fixed itself by re-loggin, but the last blocked a main zone quest for a few weeks with no other consequence. Nothing to get upset about.

The dupe exploit I never noticed a single effect of. The economy didn't move an inch and the whole affair has become an interesting anecdote.

The delve bots did break immersion at times, and distracted me while I typed out a report. Sometimes I had to come back to get completion. Annoying at times. Did it scar me for life? No. It's a funny thing to tell new players.

Maybe they don't think of this as the 1 year anniversary? The real 1 year anniversary will be a year from console launch. They don't have parties or acknowledge year long beta testing. Don't worry, though...one year from June you can buy party favors for 4.99 in the crown shop to celebrate a year of micro-transactions.

I agree. There is little lore to support a global party. They should have lore based festivals, but game anniversary should not be one of them. This is something for the players to do in the game on their own, if they want.

    Don't feel bad,

GW2 only gave out a mini that everyone has too, and a instant lvl 20 scroll (That game its so easy to lvl you don't need any help, while TESO... I'm lvl 14 and its been 3-4 weeks.

One thing I noticed about this game is, a lot of people like to claim they was in beta.
Never heard so much "I was in beta" in my life. I swear like, 50% of the population, was in beta. LOL

Entire playerbase are the people who helped make the game, is what it seems like to me.
Should give people a beta anniversary too!
