GIVE ME LOOTZ! I WANT INSTNT V14 AND A DRAGON MOUNT!

lol, seriously though. Anniversaries are just an MMO tradition. I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons Online for years now and every year there's been a nice anniversary gift or event for players that never really broke the game...except for that one year they had the Card Cruncher gift. Anyone who's played DDO in the past year or two knows what I mean O.o

Btw, the OP isn't complaining or asking for free stuff at all. He's just curious about whether or not ZOS is doing something for it.

TL;DR - If you got this far without reading the entire post you're either too lazy or suck at reading comprehension and probably don't belong in a public forum anyway. Just move along, you wouldn't understand.

    You people are so impatient.
(Luckily it's just the Official Forum this way, the game is thriving everywhere else)
Of course ZOS will write an Article about the 1st year Anniversary.
But not before the 4th April.

We don't need any crappy mounts, or XP bonuses, or really whatever..
It would be nice if Devs did some event, but that's it, we don't need any fluff stupid stuff.

In another game I play I got a tin foil hat just for it being April Fool's day... No joke. For this year's anniversary they gave us housing items, last year a couple more housing items, the year before that (iirc) fireworks and the first year a piece of cake and a style with a big celebratory one in it. I understand that we as PC players don't matter much but at least show some customer/player appreciation. Little things like this go a long way. Seasonal events, holiday sales and just honest notes to the players go a ways.

I love my tin foil hat (LOLOL) from that other game to be completely straight forward. Will I ever wear it? Never. But whenever I see it in my pages of selectable styles I will be glad that they appreciated us enough to take the small amount of time to make it.

PS: Before you say "I'd rather have content". I would rather have content in ESO as well but the funny thing is that other game released 9 eight man raids, 9 four man dungeons and some two player content just this year as well.

according to my clock here, in 9 hours it will be exactly 1 year since the launch of eso on 4 - 4 - 2014
i have never seen any mmo not celebrate thier yearly anniversary. it's allways a big week long party and gifts for us customers and all kinds of great and awesome stuff, like a special zone to adventure in and get awesome prizes and all kinds of stuff like a special xp buff or gold or special anniversary armor or weapons. but ... eso ...

Honestly... I'm not at all surprised. It seems like communication since ESO:TU has actually gotten WORSE from ZOS. No celebrations, no updates, and no new content.

Oh, but we're getting more crown store items. wee!

Heck, they even announced that they were going to have a new segment on ESO LIVE last week... but the segment wasn't there and they never said anything about why it wasn't there or if it's going to be on the next ESO live.

It seems like they've clammed up and they don't want input or involvement from the community. Even less than they wanted it before.

I hope things change.... things can always change.

Some of the things you guys post and..........complain about sigh. They don't need to do anything special.
LOL, so you can only think that someone asking for a 'celebratory event' is asking for free stuff, is that it?

The OP didn't even hint at 'free' stuff', he was simply noting that ZOS have added nothing into the game to celebrate its first year of existence. Every other MMO I've played since day 1 (3 others and counting) has done this, with some sort of 'fluffy' event that maybe didn't give phat lewt but was something 'fun' to do.

ESO is devoid of 'fun' stuff, there is nothing in-game that is there simply for the fun of it being there and doing it, everythingis so earnestly serious and focused on phat lewt.

I guess the TES fanboys will simply point out 'fun stuff' isn't in TES lore.

what did you expect? remember when the holidays came and went no in game achievements cosutmes or events? woooooo whooooo thats why i play an mmmo right there!

Well I can understand not doing things like Christmas etc. Kind of lore breaking to alot of people. Not doing something on the first year anniversary of your business launching a major AAA mmo is just crazy. Im guessing they just wish to start over with the whole unlimited thing and pretend basically the last year didnt happen.

What do you want them to do?

Recap on all the bugs they caused, didn't fix and are still on complete ignore?

Present a road ahead detailing DLC release schedule and prices.

Finish/bulk up the lacklustre justice system.

Present a program of overhauls for ineffective areas of the game

Great suggestions! Would you like to sit next to me and we can hold our breath together?

I don't really understand the need for a festival to mark the occasion of the one year anniversary because honestly there are a lot more important things for ZOS to focus their time and attention to at the moment.

There are still a lot of bugs To work out not to mention everybody's throwing a fit because there's no new content and vet ranks have not yet been removed.

so really is the one year anniversary that freaking important? Is a special Easter basket from the Easter Bunny really needed? Does Saint Nicholas really need to come visit us this December and put skill points under the Christmas trees of all the good little adventurers?

personally I like the idea of bug fixes and new content.

What does easter and christmas have to do with them doing something for the 1 yr anniversary? Those are holidays that have nothing to do with the lore. Also they havent even mentioned it. You telling me that they are so busy they cant even post a little "thank you loyal customers for your patronage this past year" or anything? Come on.

you ideas the same everybody's demanding that they make all these fixes and that new content and then everybody wants for special events and special recognition for an anniversary and although they have not been mentioned in this thread there have been multiple threads made white people what they celebrated in game as well.

bottom line I think an anniversary present should be at the bottom of the list of priorities at this particular moment.

When I say do something maybe they could like post something on the forum. I mean you act like flipping a switch giving everyone a 10% xp bonus for the day would take some team of developers years to do. Its a flip of a switch. Also things they could do could entail maybe giving everyone 10% off store purchase coupon or something. All easily done and I doubt the guy who does store coupons is working on the imperial city.

you do realize even doing something as simple as a 10% experience boost for the day is a lot more complicated than just flipping a switch. secondly what does it matter if they recognize anniversary or not?
