Been in que for 2 hours now for the Normal Pledge - BC

ZoS is telling us that it's working fine, yet I can't find a group in 2 hours for the EASY daily dungeon quest using the LFG tool.

This is one of those problems they've been actively avoiding to comment on, let alone discuss what we should do in order to get better results in using it.

Has anyone been able to find a group using it? I've been trying for months and have had no luck. I don't try all the time but I usually queue for a dungeon when I log on and leave it. I can be in the queue for hours at times.

I uninstalled the game last night, main reason I did that was because it took too long to get a team for the lvl 17+ dungeons. I ran around for a few hours did dolmens and world bosses while signed up and it only matched me with half teams that never filled. I switched around tried other dungeons, even the level 12 ones.

I think at the moment a big problem is that the players only want to do the normal dungeons one time to get the skill point, and then go back to whatever they do (questing).

Could someone test this please: Have 4 people of the exact same veteran rank use the group search tool for the same veteran dungeon. One has indicated his role as tank, 2 are damage dealers, 1 healer. No group is formed -> group tool is broken.

I've had a group search open for the daily undaunted veteran dungeons in Update 5 for 10 hours on some day. Never found a group that way. I used to find groups quite regularly before they changed how it works (and that was before there were daily undaunted pledges so only very few people did veteran group dungeons repeatedly). That's on the EU server.

There are lots of folks in Auridon this morning doing that for level 15 dungeons. There was one report of the group finder working among dozens who gave up and manually started groups. The sense of rage in the zone chat regarding the lack of a functional group finder was disheartening.

Let me spell it out for ZOS.... Address....issues....FASTER!!!! Look at how long it took you to fix all the bots at launch, then the teleport hacks farming materials. Then all the public world boss farming exploits and more importantly the stupidity that was craglorn anomaly farming. That anomoly farming should have been fixed within 24 hours, not several weeks. Now after nearly a year, the dwindeling player base who was able to cope without a functional group finder you have a massive influx of new players. Unfortunately those new players expect a working group finder.

It it's not fixed quickly, you'll lose all the players again.

After testing it during this weekend, I can say that not making groups has become just one of the bugs in this wonderful tool.
It's the situation where you are already in a search, but grouping tool does nothing, so you decide to try your luck in chat. You find one or two other players and invite them into your group. Now, you, as a leader, want to update the search in grouping tool, as you are aware the tool itself has not suddenly become good and needs to be reminded who to search for now, when you are not alone any more.
So, you open your grouping tool and the moment you decide to cancel the current search and update it, it kicks you out of that group. Wonderful.

But, than again, maybe that's the improvement they made:

But back to topic: Had search going on for about 4 hours and found no one . After talking to the players I managed to find by spamming chat, two of them were also using it at the time. So, it could safely be said it is still broken.

It is taking much longer than intended to form a group using the LFG tool.

I think they are waiting for console launch to see if having a working grouping tool is really needed. After all, they don't have much experience in dealing with MMO crowd and may not even be aware of how important such a tool really is.
After playing GW2 in past month, I could not be more amazed at how different devs' perception of importance, is.

The grouping tool does work, I had a group for vet spindle the other day as a dps.

Just there's no incentive to use it.

The sad truth of the matter is, ZOS is aware of that. But they are either unwilling or incapable of fixing it. My guess is they could fix it, but will wait for console release. There have been numerous threads and posts about this in the past five months, but barely any official comments. Which should give you an idea of how important this problem is for ZOS.

I agree with all of this. It's been busted all winter and is currently so useless I no longer even attempt to use it. Thank God for active guilds.... and zone chat (usually lol).

One would think those things are mandatory in a modern MMO game... I mean even 90% of the free MMO out there have a quite good working grouping tool. It never worked for me in ESO, it is quite frustrating for beginners to spam the Zone chat all the time with no response whatsoever, because most on the players are doing VR pledges/dailys.

Oh, and once you hit the search button, you can't even cancel the search to edit anything in LFG, it just stucks in a loop with no response. Quality programming right here.

Thing is, I actually quite enjoy this game. But things like this are really frustrating. I've spammed /z for FOUR days, each session ~2-3h to finally find a group for the Stormhaven dungeon. And WHY does everyone has his own quest instance (-bosses) once you have grouped up for questing?! This makes no sense to group up for random quests at all.

There are SO many bugs related to it.... recently i found the grouping is still horrid:

random kicks from the group after a wipe,
leaderless groups,
people signing up as roles that they actually are not, by accident,
being unable to use the tool at all while inside the dungeon and searching for a new member

those are the ones coming to mind right now.

I remember the beta tool and it was A LOT worse, but this one is still far from being usable for everyone on a regular basis.

They have "fixed it" about 5 times now in patches and nothing has actually changed or been fixed. Back in the first month or two it worked at times but has never actually worked right or been dependable. Most veteran players don't even bother. They look in zone or guilds.

I don't know if ZOS has abandoned it or not but seeing as a lot of new people are coming to the game, it would be nice to see a fix for this. Its a pretty simple system I don't understand the issue.
