Immortal guards are getting REALLY annoying.

    As an thief its always best to run away. Killing give an far higher bounty on top of the existing as it should do.

    No guards should not be immortals, I would even nerf their health, but buff their attack then they are hurt up to an strong two dot boss, they will also try to call other guards. Finally killing one give you an 10-25K bounty.
    Grinding just make you go in circles.
    Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

    Yeah Op I have no problem with the guards being gods tbh. All it is is a case of learn how to thief properly Ive never gotten to the point of 10k bounty unless its been on purpose at best Ive gotten maybe 500 at times when ive really bungled up a few blade of woe kills and got caught. Just get better at thieving and your issues with the guards go away its actually not that hard to get away from them either. They immobilize you roll, They stun you break the stun, they pull you back with chain keep running. I don't even sprint away from the guards anymore I just move the normal full pace and they leave me be after a good one to two minutes of giving them the runaround. its actually more challenging and fun that you cant just kill the guards.

    I would disagree.. you are doing something right.... like being a good thief..... If your accumulating a huge bounty then your doing something wrong.... so quit complaining that the godlike guards are a problem, become a better thief then they aren't a problem at all.

    And Just because I like beating a dead horse...... I think they should implement the PVP aspect of the Justice system they initially proposed.... so if you think the immortal guards are bad.... they are a warm up compared to a PC bounty hunter hunting you down.

    I can see the argument for giving them a slight nerf but if the whole point is to have a deterrence to in-game crimes/make stealing and killing difficult then if you can easily escape the guards what's the point?

    Totaly agree. How the guards work now is really anti fun. I am fine with them being immortal, but we should at least be able to exit buildings when they chase us (they could follow us trough the door as long as the unescapable caught inside a building situation is eliminated)

    I am fine with the guards bothering me, but the fact that they CANNOT be killed whatsoever is extremely annoying. If they could be killed, I would have no problem at all. I think its unfair and unfun that we need to go up against gods when we want to do some crime. Everyone can die, so why can't they?
    Yeah make them killable just steel everything no problem put 10k in my bank a day easy money no consequence make them really strong so people can just zerg guards eliminating the justice system in fact no more bountys im a noob/scrub that doesn't know what to do. That that is what you want

    Magblades seem to have the easiest time thieving/murdering with the permacloak. I was able to level up both TG and DB skill lines and max them both out very quickly.
    Perhaps that is what you want to roll. Have someone craft immovable potions that also restore stamina/regen and maybe a third effect of your choice. I have a perpetual bounty on my alt (about 200K) but that's because I really don't care if I'm seen or taloned by a guard.
    Pop the potion. Break free. Run like hell.
    Its funny because if you speed around a building in a circle you will lose aggro. Same goes for buildings. As long as there is a separate floor or a small adjacent room you can run to and you can vanish from LoS, you are good to go. The only times I've gotten killed was when I didn't see a guard next to me while committing a crime and/or lag prevents me from reacting.

    i wouldnt mind the immortal guards so much if it wasnt for the fact that killing witnesses doesnt reduce your bounty. fact is if i am in a small room with one other guy and he catches me stealing, killing the stool pidgeon should remove the bounty

    Be an Argonain. Guards hassle you? Jump in the water.Swim away faster than they can chase you.

    No water? Race doesn't matter then. Plan your escape route. If it allows you to jump off a wall they can't, then use that.

    I've been caught plenty of times but only ever killed by guards in my early days before I learned how to escape.

    Personally, the guards being annoying is just a minor side effect of the whole stealth system... Not really feeling all that "good".


    "Usable", sure, but... Seems like half my "stealth" missions are an out and out joke. Actually being remotely "stealthy" taking practice and taking it slow... But "oh look, something you had no real way of predicting just spotted you. Oh well, as there are no/few retries, I guess you just have to kill everything in sight.... At least it's like 500% faster".

    My "favorite" ones are those where the guard "kills" me, and... Ghostly-me just casually walks directly to the target. Silly guard, not knowing that I'm unkillalbe. o:)


    Outside of those missions though... It's mostly just getting a feel for the sometimes iffy NPC detection range, and keeping a few pardons on hand... Or not particularly caring at the moment if they kill you. That works to.

    Water is always safe, nothing will swim after you not even crocodiles.
    Guards will use ranged but do low damage.

    If you do stuff where its an good risk for getting caught, don't carry around lots of stolen stuff.
    This is very true then doing pickpocket or lockerbox quests, you get caught and it cost you 250 gold, not the purple furniture blueprint you stole.
    You also have the get free papers to clear bounty, they tend to pile up.

    Yah. F*u*ck immortal guards in their stupid eyeballs. I love wasting 30 minutes of stealing only for a guard to stop me from an impossible distance away in doors and have no way of escaping when my clemency is already used. Getting stopped by guard in doors = automatic loss of all stolen items, either through death or paying your fine. Yeah. Not a flawed system at all...
