The newer ones look less like a noobish old school game and more like a mastered piece of work, I don't know what the hell you're talking about.
Bobbity Boop, this game might become poop, but I'll still play because I'm just a pile of goop!

We are not discussing about the quality of the textures, but the style of the clothes itself that we do not like for Redguard Light and Medium (speaking for most people here, but it's of course not the opinion of everyone)
it's me who "don't know what the hell you're talking about" when you describe the first armor like a noobish old shool game. In my opinion, the new one are a lot more blant, and boring and feel a lot less "inspired" and more "generic"

What have you done to Redguard medium? :'( It used to have layers, the legs and boots look horrible now. I don't like the helmet redesign either.

    I like new Orc though.
I agree, new redguard medium is really horrible now ;(

Bro, I mean the entirety of the armor, not just the gritty texture. The light arbor is iffy, but the entire heavy looks better and majority of medium is also better, albeit I do miss the medium chest. It had more of a swashbuckler feel to it.

The heavy looks better? You don't even notice how the pants don't even match the set anymore?

No more soft path to the heart on Orc females in Heavy Armor anymore.... this is a very sensible change (especially for Orcs who are extremely practical and would never craft that as their Racial style in the first place).
Semi retired from the trading aspects of the game.

They match, they just don't have plating on them anymore, still looks dope.

The original redguard medium chest only needed a butt flap. The rest of the new medium looks amazing

The rest of the outfit is full plate, and they don't have plate, but they still match?

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. They look absolutely terrible to me. They ruin the set. Maybe another style can fill the gap, I don't know. Hopefully this is just a bug, however, and someone didn't apply the right model to the item.

There's also the issue of the flap's tertiary color not matching the rest of the outfit. It has a different tint, it looks really out of place for some colors.

Edit: The colors on the pants also don't match the rest of the outfit because, again, it is a completely different type of material. Leather and cloth dye differently than metal in this game.

Redguard are light on their feet desert warriors, and those pants match their fighting style and culture. Besides, if you rock a shield you don't need much if any leg armor, another thing redguards are good for

Then the rest of the armor should match that. But it doesn't.

Yes it does lol the legs are freed up for mobility but the rest of your body needs to be covered. If anything, the chest should come with a short ringmail coat

I'm not going to argue this with you. I don't think that it looks good. I don't think that it matches. Other people agree. Other people don't.

All I want is a word from ZOS saying if this is the intended, final design of the Redguard heavy armor.

Well, it doesn't look like you get any sort of tracking on bug reports on the PTS. I was hoping to obtain an answer as to whether or not this is actually a bug that way.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ @ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌, you're my only hope:

Is the new model for Redguard heavy legs intended (screenshots in the first post of this thread) or is it a bug?

Can you please post pics of male version too ? thanks

I do think it's important to compare both, as, at least with the cloth, the male's is pretty different from the female's. Unfortunately, I don't have an open character slot on the Live Server, so I can't get a nice group of comparison pictures like Elloa provided, but here is a quick picture from eso-fashion next to whats now on the PTS for the highest level Redguard Cloth.

    80yv1gnoofo9.png

I gotta say, they really did remove everything that I liked and thought was special about this set. The buckles and cloth draped around the chest as well as the desert mouthwrap are all gone now to make room for a pretty run of the mill robe with a flowery design and somewhat odd metal plating. I do think the gleam looks kind of cool on the new set, but the old style was just so much more interesting all around.

On a side note, the armor packs we receive on the PTS to test the new styles don't have head-pieces in the package. If they did, I'd put together a complete gallery of the new armor, I feel like people need to see the entire Redguard Cloth line, because to me all 4 tiers seem much more repetitious and uninspired than they were pre 1.6.

To reiterate (at least for the cloth):

Here's a better representation of what I'm talking about. The first picture is taken on the PTS and the second is live.

Templates on the PTS unfortunately don't have dyes unlocked, so I couldn't color match them. Suffice it to say, when you do choose a color scheme like I have on live with the new set, the difference in coloring between leather materials and metal materials is even worse. The gold trim (on the live version) becomes brown.

Also, there is no camera centering live, so I couldn't get as good of a shot.

Hmm, not sure I like the changes. I mean, for me Redguard was unwearably ugly prior to the change anyway, but the change does half a good job then ruins it with the leather stuff on the heavy armor. As a result it is still to ugly a set to wear.
As for orc, it looked fat clunky and dull on live, so I guess any change must be a good thing

I kinda like the new redguard medium armor. Helm looks decidedly better, and I like how the armor plates on the gloves and boots have been shifted to the side instead of being on front.

I like the original version of the orc armor and the new versions of the redguard except for the light armor, the original was best. What I want to know is why all of the loose fitting guards and greaves. Wouldn't they get caught on everything in battle? Can't a girl look feminine even if she is a kick ass warrior? The arm cops that stick out a foot away from the rest of your body too, seems like a hindrance in a real battle. Oh and I absolutely love the lace-up detail on the back of the greaves of Yokeda that were in the warrior pack for the template characters !!!

Last try before I give up. I hate to harp but this is a pretty simple yes or no question that informs whether or not I want try to play this game again (not to sound overly dramatic, but I have a high tolerance for playing MMOs that are content-light so long as I like how my character looks).

    @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ @ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌

Is this the intended re-design of Redguard heavy armor, or is it a unintended that the pants look completely different from the rest of the set?

Old was much much better for both.

Now I'm depressed, because these were two of the better looking armors in the game.
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis
