Racial Motifs 16: The Xivkyn

I've discovered something interesting and I wanted to share it here. The new racial motif is already in the game, but there is no way to obtain it yet. It's split into pages, much like Dwemer, and there is also a full book if you get lucky enough to find it. Here are some screenshots.

UPDATE: There is also now a Crown version of the Xivkyn motif. Its price is currently unknown, but it is probably safe to assume that it will cost 5000 Crowns like the other legendary quality motifs already in the store.

These are not Photoshopped. I don't have any of them, since they cannot be obtained at this time.

These are hardly photoshopped, you did a hell of a good job on the transparent backgrounds if it is, congratulations.

I suppose you just managed a way to reach their 'link' in the database (as if linked through chat or something)
I don't doubt it; that's a very common thing on MMOs. Like in EVE, we sometimes can find links for items not yet implemented (like the Police Edition Megathron)... Anyway, I digress.

Nice find though :disagree: I personally love hunting motifs - and I do it 3 times, since I split my crafters for lore/RP reasons. It will be fun to hunt all these pages like I did with the Dwemer ones

Fell for what? The item codes for things (that you can type into the chat window for people to click on and bring up descriptions such as those shown in the OP's pics) are frequently in the game before the actual usable items start dropping. It was like that with the Dark Brotherhood invite. That's what the OP is showing us - it doesn't mean it's photoshopped, and he specifically said it can't be obtained yet, so obviously he wasn't claiming to have the items...

He didn't PICK them, he just linked them. As when someone links an item in chat and you click the item to see it.

If there was a container, they would be obtainable, wouldn't they??? And he clearly said they're not.

This is just like the unfounded rumors that the level cap would be raised from VR12 to VR14 just because there are references to it in the game.......

He didn't... As has been said a few times those are item chat links. Being able to display those just means you know the item code that is in the database - it doesn't mean you have the item.

When something is linked in chat it is actually a string with a bunch of parameter ids. You can manipulate those id or parameters to change the item tooltip/name.

some of my friends have change gear stats on them when linking in chat, so people got confused and wanting to know where they exist, so yeah I know how it works.

Still there pictures are easily made in photoshop

If people hunted long enough, they would probably find the item codes for all sorts of things not presently in the game. This week's patch was a healthy 200MB in size but contained fixes that should have only consumed a small fraction of that space.

Have people already forgotten you can easily manipulate tooltips displayed item names? My buddy was trolling zone chat months ago with things like glass, ebony and dwemer racial motifs with some simple edits to the pasted item code in word. Don't be so gullible guys and gals.

You can't change the name or the icon of an item when you link it, only its properties. Plus, you can only link items currently in the game files. Dwemer Motifs could not have possibly been linked months ago, and Glass and Ebony Motifs cannot be linked to this day, because they are not in the game. At least not yet...

Not getting on my nerves in the slightest. You just keep saying things that prove you don't understand how displaying items that are in the code but not yet in the game works.

Given that we already knew that a Xivkyn style was coming that would be dropping in Imperial City, and given the difficulty of photoshopping those particular images (take a nice close look at them - if you think that would be an easy photoshop then you don't know much about photoshop), it's significantly more likely that the OP was using item codes to show something that's already been added to the game files.

Is it possible that these are photoshopped? Sure. Is it likely? Nope.

Theres is no "Xivkyn" race in TES lore, simple.

its freaking easy to make this in photoshop, you take the picture without the motif, and then put another layer on top to make the motif

make a square, switch opacity to around 50% and then type

the thing that takes the longest maybe is finding the font

OK, you go ahead and do that. I'll wait.

Like I said, it's definitely possible, but getting it to look exactly right as those ones do isn't easy. It'll take you some effort. Somehow I doubt you'll manage to pull it off...

They've already said (IIRC it was in an ESO Live) that Xivkyn will be the Imperial City-specific version of Daedric.
