According to someone with "friends" in ZoS, ESO is going B2P. Announcement next week apparently.

Trials could be OK is they were weekends only (like beta weekends) and on the PTS.

Test server only and no transfers to NA/EU meganservers then I am OK with that I suppose.

People trying the game are going to want to play with their friends and use the same characters after the trial is over. Restricting them to the PTS would not be a good solution.
