OOOOOOOOHHHH i can hear PC Gamers Raging hahaha.

Once the outdated hardware of the console really starts to show, I'm sure you'll see less focus on the dirty console. What's new...

The end game is dying. Many progession-focused PvE guilds are hemorrhaging members, and some have dissolved completely. NA PvP sometimes seems so dead that you would think we have too many campaigns. Between the bugs, the lag, and the opaque/inconsistent API, there's not much left for those of us who have been playing for over 6 months.

The new players are enjoying themselves and console will undoubtedly sell alotta copies. The PC side of this game sometimes feels like it's in its death throes.

    What are you talking about?

As far as PvE, I agree with you. End content is dying because ZoS failed to update their raid gear to the Meta changes that happened since patch 1.6.5.

I can't agree with you in PvP though. Lately there has been strong competition in NA for all alliances. AD for the first time in months is having issues holding on to their Buff Server when before we had 2-3 servers that were constantly yellow.

many of those reviews were what robert downey jr. warned us away from in tropic thunder....

they were pvp focused reviews. this game although advertising it's pvp, never at any point EVER claimed to be PVP focused. there were and still are better pvp-focused mmorpg's out there. WoW, wildstar, age of conan, the secret world, ESO - NOT PvP focused games.

and i can't blame them. pvp'er turnover is about as bad as crew at a mcdonald's.

when I feel the itch for pvp, i turn to actual pvp games like battlefield bad company/3/4, guild wars 2 or if i am REALLY feeling the need to get my mmorpg pvp on, turn on my daoc accounts.

but i can't have sympathy for pvp'ers here, or in any mmorpg where PvP is not the sole focus. something is lost when the game is not focused on pvp, and the pve game can be adversely affected if the PvP is not treated as a seperate entity with it's own unique damage tuning.

I have also been playing mmorpg's and MUD's since 1993 so I am a little jaded, and still laugh when people complain about dying during pvp in games that don't allow me to strip your corpse naked like we did back in the day.

I'll be the one laughing when ya'll are raging over the awkward guild, mail, bank and guild store UI. Also you'll have no clue what's broken, what's working, what stats are applying to skills, how much damage you do, how much resistance you have to various elements.

But you can fix all that with add ons...oh wait...

Thats what you PC players don't understand, i was PC players before and im aware of all that, but all of my friends are console gamers for exemple and if i talk to them about addons and stuff like that, they have no idea of what it is and they don't give a ***.

Casual player on console just want plug and play. They don't wanna mess with addons and stuff like that. BTW everyone on the console won't be able to use addon so i don't see the problem.

Are we starting a console vs pc thing here lol
    We are all gamers
    We all love eso

Soooo lets mend the fences and say peace

    Nah bugger that lol

Im a pc player soon to be a console eso player
I will miss my addons but not as much as not dealing with pc problems
Everyone running the same set up lets you fix problems and keep them gone
I will miss 60 fps but i cant see the difference
The graphics match the pc on all ultra high settings
The player base is going to be alot larger than the pc side
They already stated that there going to be bringing in chat boxes to consoles just dont expect it right away
The voice channel system is really well done you may want to check it out

Its not dying unless these forums go silent.

You sure about that? Forums at WAR were pretty active until the end.

It'll die when ZoS decides it isn't profitable enough. PLain and simple.

If ESO shuts down anytime soon I'm going to be pissed.. There are plenty of MMOs that are surviving on a far smaller population and have been for years. The thing about ESO is it's not that people don't want to play it(or at least give it another fair shot), there are just some major obstacles in the way.. I can't speak for everyone here, but for my guild community it's the dull vet grind and the lack of endgame content.

Players always seem to say "have you ever played EQ?" whenever I bring up how mind numbing the vet grind is. Understand though that MMOs are all about grind. So, it's not just how long it takes to level. It's how fun and memorable the leveling experience is. EQ created a lot of fond memories during its grind(which was longer..). I don't see anyone talking about how great of a experience VR1-VR14 was to them. Most enjoy 1-50, but that's where the enjoyment usually ends.

I think they just wanna concentrate on console release for now before they start working on vet rank and dlc. Console release will fix alot of stuff, its been pending for way too long already.

Unfortunately for you and the majority of the console players, the term "VR grinding" doesn't exactly go in the same sentence as "casual players." =P

Not to mention how horribly it will perform due to the very low performing/outdated console hardware.

It's only 'dead' in VR zones. Low level areas are thronging and bustling with people.

I guess a lot of people like me, are parking there VR1's because of the grind in VR levels.

Exactly what is happening. I see people all over 1-50 zones but VR zones are relatively dead, most people just don't enjoy the VR grind.

Think about it this way. You go through enough content to reach the "level cap" of 50 three times over, and then you are STILL not level capped and able to do end game content or be on the same level in PVP as VR14's. You have to grind, or do repeatable quests for 3-4 more ranks.

My friends talk about wanting to play this game... but then they log in and realize how much more solo questing and grinding they'd have to do to be able to join a trial guild, and log out, and play Diablo 3 where they can instantly group up with friends and play together instead.

    Is ESO dying?

    Hell no!

But!. The game has serious marketing issues bout which I doubt they can ever fully rectify it.

My first MMO GW1 and have played GW2 since launch. Arenanet did a great job showing to the world that you can have a decent MMO without monthly subs. The amount of new content being released on a regular base is low, but that is understandable in a subfree game.

ESO had a (very high) sub, so this cancelled out many people not playing with a sub. The people who are willing to pay a sub, are high demanding when it comes to refreshing and new content. So those where dissapointed too. This means that many people wrote ESO off for being too expensive or not enough (enduring) content. On top of that, the game had a lot of bugs that lasted a good amount of time and it is still far from perfect and delay after delay for the console version.

I started playing with the TU release for two reasons. the first was the cancelation of the sub and the second is that I was done with GW2 (atleast till the expansion will be there). My love for the elder scrolls genre was bigger then all the bad things I heard. As the game is now I'm not dissapointed at all. It is much better. Is the damage done? perhaps. I know I have a hard time convincing my friends in GW2 and other MMO's to give it a try. Even if they are in the same boat as me (bored at GW2) they just heard too many negative stuff..

Personally I think that the TU release got some PC-players to step in and that is a start. I also think that the console version is another. For example. A good MMO-friend I met in GW1 bout 5 years ago is now a content game designer. Due to his work he stopped playing games on a pc in his off time. So he is going for the console. When he is saying the same positive things to our mutual friends, I'm postive they will see the "light".

In short: Eso is not dying, but much damage has been done. They are now on the track they should have been at launch, but that is not enough. They need to step it up further to win back terrain!

    This.
Not exactly dying but it is detrimentally sick and needs some love. But ZOS won't give it medicine until it is done with its other patients (consoles) and even then we don't know if they'll be healthy.

For now, ESO looks like it is in the back room with only an IV. :(
