[Fixed] Invalid Version Error: Patch 1.5.3 was accidentally released to clients only.

Game kicks me out when I try to log in, says I'm using an outdated or invalid client. Are the servers actually down right now, or what's happening?

Update: Servers are up, people who were online before patch release are still playing 1.5.2. Changed title to reflect what we now know.

It looks like they accidentally released the patch without maintenance and now those of us who downloaded it get an invalid version error because the live server is still running 1.5.2.

I really hope we won't have to reinstall the game to get back to 1.5.2 in case they don't patch the servers now.

Note: If you haven't downloaded the patch yet, you can launch the working 1.5.2 version by using eso.exe directly instead of the launcher.

Update: ZOS have acknowledged the problem and are investigating.

Update: Fix confirmed to be working.

    I suspect the servers are actually down and the patch got released for download before the servers were up.

    Did they give any notice that there would be a maintenance today?

    Did they accidentally release the patch without maintenance and now those of us who downloaded it get an invalid version error because the live game is still supposed to be 1.5.2?

    EDIT: Looks like the accidental release theory is right. Put it in the OP.

    Servers are not down, I am still playing right now.

    If you didn't get the 1.5.3 client patch you will still be able to play as you will match the server version.

    but have you patched?...yet another major screw up....sorry ZOS it is the little things that are making you look ***. I apologize but it is true....more testing is required on multiple platforms and locales....as a game dev I know you cannot account for everything....but this seems like beginner level mess ups here.....like the very poorly done raycasting in game....not too hard to define two vectors, a direction, cast between them, and check for intersection....anyway...way off topic...sorry, I think I am just angry/hating since I cannot get my ESO fix in this morning.

    I'd hold off on that till ZOS either patches the servers soon (not neccessary then), or pulls the 1.5.3 patch.

    Well, I didnt knew what the problem was and nothing helped so I'm trying reinstall..

    Same issue. Got an update when logging in, and now the game Client is detected as 'Invalid or Outdated'. Running a Client repair does not resolve the issue, and effectivly login to the game is denied

    there is always someone monitoring the servers. Always...this is true in any company...often they will just be on call 24 hrs, but for an MMO someone will always be there...usually 2-3...it really depends on the size of the cluster/racks...and many other intricacies(that is a word...maybe).
