I've been able to get into the game by launching the client without the launcher via the directory install. (although not possible if you have patched to the faulty version)

The first two didnt help. Now i deleted the version files and the game updates something and I do not know what. I hope it won't install it again.

Ok well this totally mucks up my plans for a relaxing Sunday levelling the cat. Has anyone contacted customer support rather than posting here? They won't look at the forums so unless we bother them directly they won't know there is a problem.

*claps slowly* Job Well done, Weekend crew at ZOS. Why not just do the maintenance right now and lets get it over with.

If you already downloaded the patch, I highly recommend leaving the client alone right now. In trying to fix it, you might mess it up further, so the eventual fix will not work and you'll have to reinstall.

Plus, they might patch the server next, so if you leave it alone your client will be synced again.

I finally got my new PC up and running yesterday (been playing on a 13" macbook air since launch). Needless to say I way happy to finally see the game in all its glory. Then this morning when I couldn't log on, I must admit I couldn't help but smile and shake my head... Poor silly Zenimax. It's like that goofball friend you've had since pre-school who always manages to screw everything up. Nice guy, just a screw up.
