It's stupid but it's actually the solution. Everyone run in groups of 4 or smaller and we all strop zerging from keep to keep !
You can even use meteor in a 4v4, no pb !
Seriously if we don't want lag we kind of have to stop playing the objectives in the game until the devs figure this **** out1 -

The act of actually standing in someone's face isn't what's causing the lag, and you know that. It's the AOE spam while doing so.
I've had plenty of lagless (just some fps drops) fights 50+v50+ where people fight using mostly single target and the occasional (when appropriate, you know like when there are actually enemies within the radius, unlike the bananas in my screenshot below who just AOE at absolutely nothing) AOEs and everyone is a bit spread out, works like a charm. The pugs don't know how to curl up, and consequentially it usually doesn't lag so bad in the pug campaigns like Azura. Until a blue or red train show up and ruin it obviously.
I hate playing on Azura because the blues own mostly everything there and it's just boring, but damn.. I just don't know where else to go to avoid the lagtrains.
And isn't it strange that I can actually activate synergies without playing ball just by positioning myself. I dunno about you but I don't need 24 people to press my synergy.2 -

The game advert for this game before release " the first ever game to allow 200 vs 200 vs 200" battles! We choose to play how we enjoy and this worked on bloodthorn for the first 6 months of this release without any issues. A barrier goes to 20 players ... so tell me what part of the mechanics are we using wrong because this used to work. Its what we enjoyed until the lag ruined and also EVERY faction has bomb groups!!!

Of course you want to play in 24 man raids, it's your right, it's your playstyle whatever, and you SHOULD be able to play like that. But right now the game doesn't work as advertised. Right now the game doesn't support 20 man groups running around fighting other 20 man groups. It basically doesnt support keep sieges since those are suppposed to be 50 + players as well.
yes EVERY faction has bomb groups, and in a pony rainbow chocolate world NO ONE should be doing bomb groups because the servers CAN'T handle it, even though all the skills and the group sizes and the pvp objectives were designed in that direction.
The devs probably won't fix this pile of dung for another year so it's really up to us to accept it and start playing in smaller groups.

I don't even know if you're arguing with me, but what I've been saying all the time is it doesn't matter how many players you have - if all you do is spam aoe skills constantly even when there isn't even an enemy in your radius you're definitely doing something wrong.
As previously stated: 50v50 definitely works in patch 2.0.4, but not when stacked in a ball spamming AOE. Every AOE is additional calculations for the server and when it starts to lag (as the server is falling behind) continuing the spam just adds more and more and more to the queue which ends in the game being unplayable for 30 minutes.
If your playstyle is spam AOE 24/7 then yeah, your playstyle crashes the server. Zenimax should fix it, somehow, but since that isn't happening right now.. I would assume it would be in everyones best interest to try and play a little bit differently.
But I get it, the circle is going to continue. Red ain't gonna stop zerging because blue is zerging, and blue won't stop because yellow does it and so on.
I'm not telling anyone that they aren't allowed to do what they do, I'm just sick of the comments that "<insert faction> causes the lag" or whatever, because 90% of the people I see claiming this *** - is running in one of the groups that cause lag. It's just very *** augmented when two of these groups meet, and thus they both believe the other group is the one and only cause of it. They just don't wanna believe that they could ever be responsible.
And btw, your experience on TB now.. go searching, prolly a "bomb squad" standing in the corner of a keep spamming AOEs at nothing.Edited by pppontus on April 10, 2015 4:07PM3 -

I believe the insinuation is that we are like fish out of water with the advent of 1.6. However I would suggest that this is entirely untrue. Certainly we haven't played as often in our normal groups, but that is because we have always had an ethos of if you can't play well solo then you aren't good enough for the guild. With 1.6 being introduced, things changed quite dramatically for a lot of classes and therefore you were more likely to see us in smaller groups away from lagblade and outside of peak times.
When we do group however, such as when we played on Azura's with an 8 man last weekend, I had a ~1000 kills to around 25 deaths. This is why I don't quite understand what he is trying to say.
If anyone fancies offering their best 8 in a group fight against our best 8 we would welcome it. So, @rdbrown1987... please feel free to accept the challenge

I think at least some of your members were on Azuras earlier pushing emp keeps? Wow, the blues there are certainly not a smart bunch, losing everything but Chalman and still won't stop fighting reds beetwen Chal and Arrius.. we had to put an annoying siege ninja in Ash to retake Ales
Right now Azura has devolved to a 2nd lagblade, can't even be bothered to fight back now. Having some nice fights outside Ash and then everything turns to a slow motion movie, walk around the pallisades and what do you find?

I sense drama.
I believe the insinuation is that we are like fish out of water with the advent of 1.6. However I would suggest that this is entirely untrue. Certainly we haven't played as often in our normal groups, but that is because we have always had an ethos of if you can't play well solo then you aren't good enough for the guild. With 1.6 being introduced, things changed quite dramatically for a lot of classes and therefore you were more likely to see us in smaller groups away from lagblade and outside of peak times.
When we do group however, such as when we played on Azura's with an 8 man last weekend, I had a ~1000 kills to around 25 deaths. This is why I don't quite understand what he is trying to say.
If anyone fancies offering their best 8 in a group fight against our best 8 we would welcome it. So, @rdbrown1987... please feel free to accept the challenge
