pets don't show up in Cyrodiil anymore.
I can't summon my pet while in Cyrodiil. If I have my pet summoned before I go to Cyrodiil, it goes away while I am there.
I don't think your concern would raise any issue any longer, they appear to have coded pets out of Cyrodiil entirely.

hmm, I suspect that they will add a Palomino Dog to the cash shop soon. xDIf ZOS is contractually obligated to only give the wolfhound to new steam customers, I propose the following alternative:
Give those of us who have been with you since the beginning the option to get the tan dog as a customer loyalty bonus.

did they actually turn them off in Cyrodiil?
I'd actually sign on and test that if I still had a pet.
sadly i deleted mine... because they were silly..and useless
There's no such thing as "entitlement" when paying for goods or services.xsorusb14_ESO wrote: »I don't know if there have been games that have added them later, true, but there have been a number of games that I've bought in a store and then added to my steam list, getting both a physical copy and a Steam copy. There's options to activate a game on steam where the game code will work as a steam code, and there's also an option to add a non-steam game. You aren't getting a second copy or anything, it simply gives you access through steam.
Maybe it is entitlement, I usually avoid going that direction, but in this case the frustration is the complete lack of option. We're used to the case of "oh, this thing got given out before I started. That sucks, but I guess it makes sense" or "I can choose to buy this version for this pet or that one for that pet" versus this new "I already paid for this at full price months ago, but now there's a new option that was not available and I have no access to". It could also be because there is no other dog. But as I said in my earlier post, Zenimax usually pulls through, I'm going to assume they will for this.
There is no maybe, its straight up entitlement.

Who exactly has given out a Steam Key for a game you bought and played already?
No game has ever done this. Only one game has actually allowed you to convert the non steam version to steam and that's path of exile.

I used to whisper other Daggerfall players and tell them to unsummon them while they were stealthing, but I have not seen pets running around in weeks.
I just signed on to test it and sure enough my pet disappears. Trying to summon in Cyrodiil gives me a message saying I am unable to summon my pet in an AvA location.
I'm actually quite pleased they responded to this issue, I'm just not sure when they did it.

If we buy the steam version can we ADD it to our existing account in some way?

It really is false entitlement to think that just because somebody else may be offered a different/possibly more enticing deal then you were offered that you should be compensated.

I don't want to be compensated. I don't even want the thing for free.I want the option to throw away my money on the same pixelated dog or a visually similar equivalent. I want to give them more of my money for digital pixels that I will never physically touch, for pete's sake.

Oh wait... we're talking about ESO..I was having flashbacks to virtually every other thing i've bought early in life....
