Made a video of what the game has become for me and why I haven't been able to play since 1.2.3

After numerous posts and troubleshooting, (here http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/114777/new-change-to-loading-i-can-no-longer-play#latest) ZOS has stated that players experiencing this problem have to wait for upcoming patches.

My question is if we will be reimbursed by this massive downtime and for completely missing out on the start of a bran new campaign?

Very sad and bored...

people told me to "upgrade your PC" on one of my posts with a video, yet its clearly not that i need to do that since i was able to use Fraps in addition to the game to capture the footage of the gameplay going from 30fps to 5 over 14 minutes...

my CPU is 4 years old, in terms of its initial Production... my GPU is one year old apx.. neither are top of the line but more or less budget or bottom of the high end spectrum...

this lag is unacceptable... no matter what some naysayers who don't have the issue say, we deserve some compensation in regards to this... like you show well in that video, some people are flat out unable to play...

hell i have been lucky, unless i intentially go into a dark anchor with other players i dont run into the FPS issue generally, just the ability lag issues. (towns cause the FPS issue too)

the only think i can suggest trying is turning sound completly off in the audio options of the menu, this solved my issues with FPS drops and helped dramatically with ability lag and mob loading.. tho it doesnt fix it all..

i wanted to add, i think more people should take this kind of initiative. if you are having issues, grab fraps or even your cellphone and record it.

That was so hard to watch. I thought I had issues with random lag spikes since the patch but damn.

Yeah I sometimes get similar FPS/invisible enemies/missing animations in Cyrodiil if I go too long before relogging, although it hasn't gotten quite as bad as what is shown in that video for a couple of days.

It's a shame man, so many players are going to leave this game because of this issue.

I appreciate the nice comments. I really love this game and want to play it, but I shouldn't have to buy a whole new computer to do so.

You don't. About 85% of PvP players are affected by this, wouldn't surprise me if it was higher. Turning off my sound completely in game, and exiting the launcher seemed to help a little bit but not a great deal. I am in awe how this made it through testing in the first place and has remained live for so long, paying for a beta is not cool.

I thought I had fps issues only in cyrodiil but damn...you have my sympathies....that right there is literally a slideshow.

I'm not experiencing it any where near this bad but the game has run fine for three months, 1.2.3 dropped and now it's almost unplayable.

It's not my PC

Delayed animations/audio, sudden FPS drops, invisible mobs, environments not loading and today a new one, PC overheated and crashed twice.

I never had these issues before 1.2.3

I have logged off and stopped playing.

I can run the game pretty smoothly on ultra settings with my mediocre six core amd system with 8gb ram and a radeon 6870, but of course getting ability lags and all that quite often too. Also npc and objects load very late and I often see myself getting attacked by invisible foes for a few seconds.

Got a huge email from zos with "troubleshooting" tips that I feel are very futile. They suggest closing down all other programs, uninstalling my anti-virus and malware protection, and running the game that way...

I don't know too much about computers but I do know that I was able to play just fine before 1.2.3 with the programs I've always had. Thoughts?

My fps improved with the last hotfix, but I still can't see any npcs that are attacking me until I'm dead. The sound is still lagging, as well as well as some of the animations from npcs. I'll kill some of them when I CAN see them and get hit with one of their spells 20 seconds later.

Love the game, but I'm not paying $15 a month for this. I'm going to cancel my sub until fall and see if things are any better by then. I think this is the second long holiday weekend they've released a patch that caused more problems and kept people from being able to play, and that's just really frustrating.

I'm having the exact issue and am running an amd chip equivalent to an i5. my isp is running a clean line (tested and retested with and without them) with very little noise of 30mgb up/15mgb down. this is NOT your machine.

if one more person tells me that I need to upgrade to an i7, I swear I'll have my khajiit puke massive hairballs in their shoes..

Can't say i have ever had a single problem with low fps/laggy animations or loading enemies etc myself. and i live in the UK playing on the US (EU) servers.

Could you post the exact details of your PC specs please? Just screenshotting your system page will do

My PC is an aging AMD 960 with a ASUS 560Ti with 8 gig RAM.

Call them stupid.

This Video shows exactly what i get when playing Cyrodiil.

Before 1.2.3 i got 30+fps in large Battles....

Yea I can't wait to play again. I did come across a forum post where the FPS has increased when you completely turn off sound. I tried this and I can now play for about 20 minutes up from 2 at least! lol

I get the exact same experience in Cyrodiil after 20 minutes or so of playing. Something that NEVER happened to me at all during beta and the first 3 months of this game. Only since the latest big update this issue started for me. It's something that requires a hotfix! It totally sucks the fun out of the game for me, i have no desire to play at all whilst this fps issue remains.

a group of us tried to do obsidian scar bout 14 hrs ago, and we were all watching slideshows, unplayable was definitely the word. this is the first time we've had the problem so it must have been a recent change.

i was going to try out cyrodiil this week, but if it's this bad i am avoiding it altogether. get cracking on the fix zeni, this one's gonna cost you...

I have no idea what causes lag for some people?? and I thought this game was supposed to support older computers. I don't have any problems on my 2 year old computer, my fps ranges from 60 to 100. So it seems like unless you have a newer comp you'll have problems. But then again I don't go to Cyrodil and also my computer is top of the line for when I upgraded it.

Before the infamous patch I used to get between 70 and 90 FPS while wandering around in Cyrodiil, 30 to 50 FPS in large keep sieges. The lowest I saw was in the high twenties. I had been amazed at how smooth AvA had been before the patch.

After the patch, Cyrodiil sightseeing FPS hovers around 50 to 60, but certain areas will inexplicably cause it to drop below 20, while there is no combat or zerg in the vicinity. I'll need to reload the whole game to fix that.
Siege battles drop the FPS to as low as 8 these days. I'm playing a slideshow!

Hardware related, my rosy cheeks. Yeah, while they were installing the patch, we all dug out our old graphics cards and CPUs and installed those while pulling half our RAM so we would have something to complain about when the servers came back up with 1.2.3. installed. Makes total sense.
I grant them, it may well be that the patch increased the minimum hardware requirement by a certain factor, but do they seriously expect us to upgrade hardware every time they add fluff?

Here's some free advice:
First of all, don't concentrate on new features, concentrate on fixing existing ones!
Second, when adding new features, make sure we don't have to dish out 100's of $$$ to upgrade our rigs so they can manage the the new sh!t, or add the option to turn the new 'features' off so they don't ruin our game.
Frankly, I admired the new lighting for a few minutes and then forgot about it. Lighting is not the main purpose of the game, is it? What I notice now is the poor performance and fancy lighting is meaningless.

I'd say they seriously screwed the pooch here, but sadly it's many of the players that have been screwed. In the long run however, they screwed themselves. My friend and I have reduced our subscriptions from 6 months to monthly, and if this is not fixed soon, we are leaving this wonderful but completely mismanaged game behind.

I'm certain we're not the only ones.
