New Change to Loading = I Can No Longer Play

The recent change that loads things on your screen "smoother" has created a problem for me. I have an older computer so things load pretty slow. I have combated this by sticking to the roads and smaller fights and I've been enjoying this game tremendously.

This new slower load has made it to where players load far after they've seen me, and siege doesn't appear for 5-6 seconds when I drop it down. This makes it to where I often run blindly into invisible enemies and even get killed before I see anyone.

Is this problem known? Is this not considered a "problem" for you guys so your going to leave it in?

If at all possible, give us an option to turn this new feature off so that players like me can still play your game.

Ive had that happen to me too, and I play on a relatively new computer.

I am getting that as well. Zenimax please fix this or give an option to turn it off. I just got triple teamed by problems. First ran into enemies I couldn't see. Second random loading screen kicks in while I still cant see the enemies. Third my attacks locked up after the loading screen and the enemies killed me. Now I have to go pay a repair bill on something that wasn't even my fault. ZOS fix this please!

Same here I can't even login in the game beacuse it's impossible to play with this low fps and lag.

Your operating system really could use an upgrade...
vista is a bit of a clumsy dinosaur these days and 32 bit doesn't help to speed things up either.

personally i reckon if you get win7 64 bit somewhere cheap your hardware should get another lease of life and you should see quite an increase in performace

This game should run on Win Xp with 2 Gb Ram and low mid range CPU just fine, that's the problem it won't listen the hardware you got, software is messed up.

By looking at your Game consultant file, it appears that your graphics driver might be outdated (04/20/2011). You can find the latest version here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool.

Please also make sure to have the latest version of :

• Updates to the .NET Framework are provided by Microsoft and can be acquired on their website in the Download Center. Please search for .NET Framework to acquire the latest version.
• You can check for the latest version of Visual C++, here.
• You can find instructions on how to find out what version of DirectX you have currently installed & get the latest version, here.

We also recommend that you make sure your Windows version is up to date, and that you run both the launcher and the game as admin and in compatibility mode for Windows XP-SP3 (the game file is located here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\ESO.exe):

• Right-click the file and select Properties at the bottom of the list.
• Once the Properties window is open, select the Compatibility tab.
• Select the option to “Run this program in compatibility mode” and from the drop-down menu, select “Windows XP SP3” (it may say Service Pack 3).
• Select the option “Always run this program as an Administrator”
• Confirm these changes by clicking OK and close the window.
• For ease of use, right-click the eso.exe file and select “Send To…” From the subsequent slide-out menu, select “Desktop (Create Shortcut)”. This will allow you a very easy, quick way of opening a game running in compatibility mode.

Also take some times to clean up your temporary file folder:

• Close all application/program that are not necessary (via your task manager if needed)
• Click on the Windows start button and type “Run” in the search bar
• Open the program called run, you should now have a prompt command asking you to type the name of the resource you want to open/run
• Type “%TEMP%” and press enter
• The folder C:\Users\"Username"\AppData\Local\Temp should now be open in a new window
• Delete everything within that folder, if you get an error message just click on skip and/or cancel (you might be prompted to grant administrator access).

In the drop down menu, Service pack 3 is not available. These are my options.

Windows 95
Windows 98 / Windows Me
Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5)
Windows 2000
Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
Windows Server 2003 (Service Pack 1)

I chose to run as Windows XP (Service Pack 2)

Issue not resolved.

Went into an EP keep with 10-15 blues. Every guard and their attacks/spells were invisible to me for the entire capture. I could see my comrades fighting ghosts.

Anytime there are multiple enemies, I load 1 at a time and often get killed by dozens before I load 2 enemies on my screen.

The sound effects cut in and out often as well.

Any other fixes I can attempt or is it safe to say that I can't play this game anymore with this PC after this patch.

If you haven't tried it already, you could try running ESO in DirectX 9 rendering instead of DirectX 11.

You can switch it by going to (on Windows 7, hopefully the same place on Vista) "C:\Users\[-the Windows account name you play ESO on-]\Documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live" to access your UserSettings.txt file. Copy the file to make a backup (always best before a manual change), then in the original find the line

SET GraphicsDriver.7 "D3D11"

and change "D3D11" to "D3D9" (it might not be "GraphicsDriver.7", either, maybe that indicates Windows 7, but just search for D3D11 and that'll be what to change). After that, go up to File and hit Save then close the .txt file.

You may (or may not!) get better performance out of it. With the age of your video card I'd think you would, though when I was running with that generation of card I was still on Windows XP 32 bit which didn't support DirectX11 at all, so I was on DX9 all the time anyway.

I would imagine it would be more of a small overall performance increase than an actual fix for your problem, but may as well give it a shot if you're not running in DX9 already. Hope it works.

If you can definately update your system to xp (Service Pack 3).. Most games etc
now require it..

I'm having similar problems with a fairly new laptop (Toshiba Satellite L875D with AMD A6-4400M APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.70 GHz, 6 GB RAM, Windows 8.1 64 bit)

I've done some of the steps outlined above (set launcher and client to run in administrator, set launcher to run in Win 7 compatibility, set client to run in Win 8 compatibility) but am still being killed by enemies I can't see.

How they don't understand it? They had pletora of time to test the code running on specific hardware and now they got this just because someone was lazy to test the game.I do not understand also why they introduced so many things like this massive PvP battle when 70% or more people can't enjoy in it as they should?!
Not to mention also these loading of environment issues.

Patch 1.2.4 seems to have made this problem worse.

I've been leveling my DK since Cyrodiil was unplayable for me, and now the mobs load slower on my screen and this causes deaths to ghosts, and deaths to weapon swap lag (making me unable to block).

Actively awaiting that Email.

Please fix the bugs and make the game playable before adding more content. The players that are still around enjoy aspects of the EXISTING game and would like to stay, but these problems are game breaking and just frustrates your customers to the ends of the earth - Hence all the crazy complaining on these forums.

Yup having this problem ever since the patch, and I never had this problem before, mainly mobs and adds not loading before I ride through them and knocking me off my horse and killing me.
