Every time I hit LOL its because I LOL.

Been asked multiple times how I got so many LOLs and it may because 80% of this place hates me and only has LOL as a defense.

You are correct. it is because people hate you. Observe my own LoL's. they far outweigh any of my other "post prompts"

its because I'm a $%@. If you get LoL'd, its a smack in the face.

LOL is my Dislike Button for rants, tirades, QQ and TL;DR threads/posts that are inane and ridiculous.

I personally believe they should remove the Awesome, Agree and Insightful buttons. Providing 5 ways to "like" and no way to "dislike" is Orwellian. It is the stuff of tyranny.

Because there is no "Thumbs Down" button the LOL button has become the "I am laughing at you" button.

@Soloeus there used to be disagree and off-topic too. These really were helpful. This may seem like a click bait/troll post but it's sincere.

With the amount of discord on this forum negative points should be made available as well. I'm sure I'll get alot of them but its only fair

Sometimes, I LOL when someone tries to be funny and succeeds.

Mostly I LOL to laugh at the poster.

If people are too stupid to defend their point of view and all they have is a little troll button to make themselves feel better, LOL me all day long.

I'll take it as a badge of pride that I take the time to communicate while others can't be bothered.

I think having the proper Disagree button in place is a far better idea than not having it.

lol this thread and its responses are a drop in the bucket. I was just wondering if maybe people actually got my humor for once in my life or if it was the more logical explanation that they have no negative so only laughing at my post is their response.

Without going to proper wording, and get moderated, you do understand what LoL means yes?

We lagh at what someone wrote, and at that person also. Because what was written was daft, if put it politely.

Yeah that is the point of this thread, which many threads do not have. A point. I love this game and my time on this forum is done, so thanks I figured it out on my own.

@yodased as many have said, they sometimes use the lol button because they don't have a "disagree" one.
this doesn't mean that you're perceived as a troll, or, worse, disconsidered.

Man I wish we just had common sense buttons. Like a "your hilarious" Button or a " your a [snip]" Button.

All my LoL bases mean nothing because who the hell knows who was awarding them for what. And the same with my Awesome's, and Insights ect. At the end of it all, the only thing you know is you made a post that someone took the second to click on a little button.

Even though you have no [snip] clue what they actually were thinking at the time.

I use Lol for laugh out loud as well OP.

If I disagree with someone's post I'm mature enough to be able to type a response to express that view or ignore the post. I'm sure there are plenty of other forum users that do the same.

I use LOL only if I find the comment humorous, that might include daft, but in general it is only because I like the comment and finding it funny.

I really like looking at my post that got an insightful and try to determine why exactly did someone pressed that button. More than one out of three I can find no reason other that is the first button.

i use the LOL button on posts for disagree or because i think the argument that is made is laughable.

lets just say i put more LOL's in this forum than anything, especially when posts say everything is fine in the game. (give or take a level with the state of the game posts that claim the game is doing decent to awesome)

mostly tho all i see is people posting how much more superior they are whether its time spent in other MMO's to how many stars they have on this forum.
rather than actually looking at the state of the game.

still using my paid game time just for forum posting, just because i can.
which will most likely be followed by some form of insult about my life and goals or something.
but i might as well enjoy watching the forum wars fighting over a dead carcass since i still have a few days paid up for this entertainment.

its like watching a bad movie... but funnier.

By the way, the Mods at ESO forums are ON THE BALL. I thought I was being sneaky by slipping in an enumerated cuss. and they snipped it in 10 minutes.

seriously! If they applied that awesomeness to my Mac Bleed Bug and other issues ESO would be kicking butt right now!

Well you're using it wrong then in the sense it just gives Accolade scores to the person.
