Yes, yes and a third YES. It's a fantasy game i think dwelling on the "usefullness" of spears in single combat is silly. (Is any1 here aware of the awsomenees in the fight between The Red Viper of Dorne and The Mountain?) IF PEOPLE WANT SPEARS/POLERAMS devs should deliver!. I would love to see spear-combat (same goes for Skyrim eeeeh).

I was really expecting someone to post a video for the Red Viper and the Mountain...

Anyone who went up against a person with a sword with a spear, solo, outside of a phalanx type sitch?

But, then again, anyone who went up against a sword with a staff and started earnestly muttering about destruction and so forth would too - so the realism argument is moot.

I'll just say that I think they look dorky. The links to other games and such where they have been done included. That is just my opinion, I'm not saying it is any better than anyone else's, but I just don't care for it, wouldn't wield one, and not be interested in the dev time distraction, personally.

@Dekkameron‌ Thanks for the pic, that's a good find. I never noticed them before, where are those guys ?

    Edit :
I like the idea of polearms as an alternative tanking weapon, as the shaft can allow parries. As for the skills, they could include something like this :
    - A short range pull (let's say 10/12m) that would work like a taunt as well. Would be nice for PvE as well as PvP.
    - An AoE knockdown (you would see you char aiming for ankles/knees of ennemies around him in a wide sweep).
    - A single target stun with the blunt end of the shaft.

A counter attack passive, making your next heavy attack instant after a successful parry.
