    No not really.

What would've made this game epic...

If the game was a sandbox style game that rivaled EVE
If the economy was one that matched EVE

If the stealth system was more like...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGRrNZ3cRNs

    And less like this...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCsKms9iEGw

Walking the forested areas should look more like this...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nI5hReaOzI8

And less like this (pick out the areas you consider to be "forested")...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2XCQw0xRnU

Combat should be more like this (this would be a melee NB)...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZchVIEbifQM

And less like this (sorry for the cheesy music)...

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ize4JrStGwU

I could go on and on.

I have had a few moments. I agree that the sea Serpent was one, I would say Molag Bal himself was a nice build up that felt pretty epic.

But I do agree, often the 'epic' moments are completely ruined. You run in to fight the big bad guy you have been after for the span of an entire map and he has been nearly killed by a mage called gadulf and a rouge named Driizit. All you need to do is get one hit in and it's over.

    Talk about a buzz kill!

First time I was in a large scale keep defense, it felt pretty epic. But I saw pretty soon how repetitive it was, and how simplistic the large scale battles were.

You don't get that feeling of epicness like you did in Skyrim since in Skyrim you would be standing on a mountain and you could see miles and miles of terrain around you. You truly felt like part of an amazing world with so much to adventure. Also, dragons were pretty freaking sweet.

The map linearity and the fog that enables you to only see 500 feet in front of you has a HUGE effect on how epic the world feels. I still think leveling is really fun (at least from 1-50), but I could instantly tell when I started this game that this was going to be more of the quest grind of other mmo's than the amazing adventure of Skyrim. Which would be fine if zenimax accepted that this was an MMO and not some weird hybrid.

Im not sure a game that is easy , where everyone accomplishes everything, and can do everything, can ever feel epic. your a master smith?....good work everyone has one, your an average smith. Your a master with the mage guild? good work so is everyone else, your average. This game follows the same pattern of the vast majority of MMO's , you cant beat wow being like wow :( Although i do think this game is better and has more potential than wow. If they expand skill levels they will have to make VR skills or whatever much much much more difficult.

No, it doesn't. But perhaps in a different sense than you might think. See, using the word "epic" to describe things is a pet peeve of mine--the word has been rendered meaningless.

The Daggerfall Covenant quests are pretty cool. I agree that sometimes the missions are the same thing over and over again, but they always have great rewards (gold, xp, gear and even skill points), and these quests are a great chance to explore the world and see what you can find. In my opinion ESO is epic.

It's epic right up to the point you find yourself running from super-powered mud-crabs and while wearing a dress and beating at them with sticks.

    Then it becomes just tedious.

It does at moments but quite often not, though I'm still very happy with it.

One thing that would make it feel more epic to me would be long drawn out solo boss fights. Fights that take 10 minutes or more. If the boss hardly did any damage to you or only did a burst of big damage every minute or so (so you could use a cooldown, pot, etc.) and some avoidable damage mixed with small damage during the rest of it, it would feel more like an accomplishment when we downed the boss.

They just die way too fast sometimes.

The term "Epic" is really going to be interpreted in many different ways; basically on a person by person basis.

Exactly! What defines 'Epic' for one person may be considered 'boring' for another!

For me, I feel 'epic' every time I hear the start up soundtrack, not just on TESO but on every ES game since Morrowind!
I feel 'epic' admiring the scenery in High Rock, or Black Marsh or any other province I've chosen to spend time in.
I feel 'epic' when I finally defeat that boss who's been kicking my ass for days...

Imagination goes a long way in any RPG, whether it be an MMO or single-player. It allows us to create our own 'epicness' based on our version of it.

    Certainly,It must be "Epic" fail.

I can't understand why Zenimax try to gather such a talentless game planner.
It's time to put scroll back to the Bethesda Game Studio.

An epic game would be a game where it is so good, I cannot stop signing in. I spend my time there, hours fly by, nights fly by, late mornings waking up because I had so much fun the night before for 5-8 hours in game. That happens to me with other games but not ESO. Those other games have something ESO doesn't - lots of random entertainment (things to do) on the side beyond the main questline.

I'm bored and not signing in much anymore and the highest level I ever obtained was .. 14. At this level, there's no vampires or werewolves, no assassins, or thieves... no pet battles, can't really collect pets, can't race flying vehicles or mounts... or even duel with your friends in an arena, as far as I know.

So bottom line, ESO doesn't offer much. It seems like whatever is there and whatever the devs are working on, it's end game material I'll probably never reach.

I feel like I have not much to do in the game, hence my answer to "is the game epic" would be "not yet". The biggest mistake ZOS made was making this game in a time where there are no dragons, so they can never really add them. Huge mistake because to me, dragons are one of the primary things that made Skyrim "epic". I'm looking forward to playing an assassin or thief, for stealing to have consequences and for mini-games like horse races. Maybe when some of these key features are added, and I actually feel motivated to sign in, this game will feel "epic".

At this point, I don't think the game is even worth the subscription cost, let alone that it's epic. However, it does have a beautiful, expansive world unlike any other going for it. If ZOS builds consistently on that, ESO could become epic. It will all depend on whether or not ZOS commits to adding good creative content regularly.

The epic feeling for me comes from the size, scope, and depth of the world I'm playing in. Killing big bad guys and beating dungeons is nice and all, but to me it's nothing compared to the realization that for the first time, I can walk around the majority of Tamriel for the first time in the same game.

So yes, it feels epic to me.

It's like if you were watching an epic movie just about to reach it's climax and suddenly start seeing stage hands walking around in the background, a cell phone goes off, mic boom comes into frame.
