Sorceror Pets in Public Buildings

They are extremely annoying in buildings like the bank!!! Cant ride our horses in buildings so sorcerors should not be able to summon pets in there either! I would be much thankful if that problem was fixed & also make it so they are not solid and can be ran through. Not 100% sure they are solid I might have them mixed up with novelty pets. Anyways, one or both are solid like npc's and its also very annoying! Thnx.

I agree (and I have a sorcerer) - I think these and the vanity pets should be automatically removed once a player enters a bank/blacksmith/etc and not be able to be recalled until the player leaves. Its a simple enough thing to organise I would have thought.

They should just remove pets from the game since they're useless.

Or buff them like I've been asking for since September.

Instead of asking to visually remove them from public areas you might have better luck making a post trying to explain how utterly useless pets are in this game and that having them summoned actually gimps your chars effectiveness.

Maybe people would stop using them all together then and problem solved :)

I always dismiss my sorcerer pets before entering a building if it is one that would have other players. I feel that one should try to be polite in this game when possible.

Same here, people should be a little more considerate of others in the game.

What is truly amazing is that a similar problem existed back in the early days of EverQuest in 2001 time frame. Characters were full on collision enabled, as were their dead bodies. The resulted in griefers standing in doorways to banks, blocking all access to them. Also, druids would suicide in tree form on zone bridge boundries, blocking all access to adjacent zones.

That the developers of ESO put in full collision with pets while in town shows how innexperienced they are in MMO design and history. There is so much in this game that was tried in the past and shown to be a complete failure.

That the developers of ESO put in full collision with pets while in town
Indeed, which leads to problems moving about in buildings and also means you can often have difficulty targeting an NPC behind the bloody pet.

People should be dismounted and pets despawned whenever anywhere near NPCs.

They just need to be made with no collision detection.

Players don't have collision with other players but pets do? All righty then...

Then again, I'm not too surprised. Ever try to CC an enemy with a pet out? The pet attacks and breaks the CC. /facepalm

But then they still block your view and that is annoying as well.

Its not all pets its just the flying one, I am a sorcerer and I hate having the flying one up but I always do because she saves my life a lot. (huge heal when I am about to die)
Its really annoying how large she is and her flapping wings constantly in my view.

I never mentioned this in these forums though because I think ZOS has bigger fish to fry :)

I totally feel you. In fact, as a sorcerer who uses 2 pets, I can get annoyed by them just being behind me. Sometimes I stop at a ledge to enjoy the view and flap, flap, flap go the wings of my familiar.

For politeness sake, and for my own sanity, I often dispel them when running around town. I forget sometimes, but usually I remember. If it wasn't for the fact that sometimes things take place in buildings, I'd be all for auto-dispelling or at least suppressing them, but I just don't think it would work. They'd have to go to every building and pick suppress or not suppress and that would be too much time.

Maybe just /yell "Turn off your freaky demon things, they are scaring the good citizens!", would be in order.

It's not just sight, it's sound, too. Lute/drum/flute are muted while in the bank UI, but not pets. When there's 4 crabs, 5 monkeys, and 3 winged things, they all make a lot of noise that's insanely annoying.

Now, I always mute my game when going into the bank.

Yep. There is no point what-so-ever for sorc' pets to even be in a bank. Why not just unspawn them at the door?

If they auto dispell every time people go into a building you will end up with a lot of people upset because they forget to cast them when needed. Also, would an autohide function have to be set up building by building? There are a lot of buildings you have to go into during quests that you would want your pet out. Since I don't know how they coded that I am just wondering. I wouldn't want to see them using a lot of dev time to individually set each building to "Hide" or
    "Not Hide" pets.

I'm not sure that was appropriate. This seems more like a suggestion/complaint to the developers about the Sorceror pets/helpers rather than a general comment about the class.

Big problem with pets is...camera, cursor, picking (the task of determining which screen-rendered object a user has clicked on).
Right now if a pet is between the camera and in the middle of the screen, where your cursor is, you can not interact with objects "behind" the pet. The game thinks you are trying to click on the pet.
Too many times have I either totally just dismissed my pets in order to simply click on a door or chest or have had to sit there and time my click (and tooltip pop-up) with the bobbing movement of the flying one.

Unsure on this, but the other day I was running in a public dungeon and crossing a bridge section with others, seemed like his 2 pets where actually blocking me.

Other than that, in crowded places I like to put pets away. Else I like to walk / standing around with my mini army.

prior to vet levels sorc pets rock ( at least the clanfer). there wasnt much i coudnt solo with the pet to split pulls or tie up a few mobs. then you go from coldharbor to the newbie zone and they suddenly are pathetic.

    In addition ...

It would also be really nice if ALL spells were disabled in public buildings; its annoying. Some people make an occassional mistake by shooting off a spell near banks and crafting but many are just doing it to be annoying.
