Should patch 1.1.2 be rolled back?

Roll it back, see what happens with extended QA and Bughunting on the patch before releasing it again. Please. I'm tired of ESO being taken away from me during the weekends because of these halfbaked patch fixes.

The game is unplayable for me since the patch, as I keep lagging out and crashing; but I still don't think it needs to be rolled back. Like others are saying, I don't think they can do that without everyone losing progress on their characters/quests which would just be even more annoying. They will get it fixed. Hopefully very soon. Best case scenario, they will have an emergency maintenance in the next couple days.

Yes... the developers made a post how the "server got shut down".
    Apparently no backups...

They've already said that the quest achievements won't be fixed until at least two weeks from now.

    Hi Guys,

I hate to say it but SOE community teams have a better outreach in communicating with a customer base. Regarding a botched major update than Zenimax with its 1st MMO out of the gate. Caveat Emptor (Buyer beware) I guess the fame of this IP (intellectual property) wins out over a green Live Team of developers. One or two celebrity game developers does not make a crack team of professionals. The legacy expertise of developers doesn't seem to be trickling down throughout evenly in the company structure.

A roll back of the major update is unrealistic. I expect the community manager to say something officially tomorrow in the morning or early afternoon for May 23rd Friday. They seem to be caught up trying to figure out as well what happened with the European servers. Unfortunately until they generate a hot fix patch to undo the major faults introduced with this update. The bulk of their Live Dev Team just lost their weekend.

Let's see if the hot fix comes Friday if not a couple days later. Besides a lengthy outline of all the errors with this update. (mine is the 210 Error Patcher bug)

Why? There's no way they'll acknowledge this anytime soon... The achievement scores wipe was apparently known on PTS for weeks, but nothing was done about it, and they've already confirmed on this forum that it'll be at least two weeks before a fix.

Not everything is fixable though. The "deletion" of an entire PvP server (assuming it wasn't intended) cannot be repaired... entire PvP guilds there just went up in smoke.

Absolutely it should be rolled back. It appears to be incompatible with my NVidia graphics card. Everything looks like an old-fashioned red/green 3D picture. It's unplayable.

I raised it as a support issue, but now I get a 404 when I try to look at my inbox on the forums!

With the numerous issues in the latest patch, which include and are not limited to:
    1. Roll backs
    2. Missing Quest Achievements
    3. VR mobs stealth buffed to be nearly impossible to defeat levels
    4. Roll backs
    5. FPS issues
    6. Random load screens
    7. GAME CRASHING MEMORY LEAKS

A significant number of us have been unable to play at all since 1.1.2 due to the devastating and CONFIRMED memory leak issue. If you have not been affected by the ML issue you can read about it here:

It's the worst patch by far. Multiple problems and major ones at that. I really see no reason not to roll back. If not you have to wonder how much more problematic would a patch have to be to get rolled back.

I've noticed an increase in game crashes with and without crash reports. It was booting me once or twice every 6 hrs before, now id say it does it every half hr to hr since the patch. I've also had an audio msg pop up something to do with a all file or something like that, and in game audio cuts in and out, rain, music, voices one second it sounds close the next far away, even if I'm standing still. Its not unplayable for me, and I have a sub par PC, and average internet connection speed so I consider myself lucky, but the random loading screens, lag spikes, and crashes are making it harder to commit my time day in an day out to grinding. I am not a vet, and have encountered multiple issues stated. I'd attribute the problems to my PC but they weren't this noticable until the new patch, so I'm assuming its the game. Hope it gets fixed and those drastically affected get some compensation. In the end though, its a game, and there's tons of other games you can spend a week or two on while this one attempts to be fixed. Another crazy idea, put the games down for a month if u can't play cuz of the patch, come back fresh, with an open mind and if it isn't fixed by then, you simply dont play at all and u saved urself a month of aggregation!

I'm conflicted. I am not having any issues (beyond the missing achieves) but I understand the game is unplayable for many. But if rolling back the patch CAN be done without rolling back player progression (is it even possible?) then I'm all for it if it fixes the major problems so many are having.

Never have I experienced such a vast amount of mismanaged, fumbling incompetence from any other single company in the history of game releases to this date. It's like they are doing it on purpose. Please tell me that there is a fundamental flaw in the gaming engines design which renders it totally uncontrollable by it's creators or for the love of Talos start firing those responsible ASAP.

Yes. Let's discuss the 1-3 things that came out wrong in the patch and not compare that to the 100+ things that were improved.

1.) It's not just VR that's affected. Just putting that out there in general. My 'toons are all in the mid teens to mid 20s, and the lag and mem leak makes it impossible to fight back against much of anything. I can't even open simple chests anymore before the timer runs out. I get about 5-10 minutes of playing at a speed that looks like the kids aren't drawing the next frame with crayons fast enough to keep up. My vid card temp goes up 15*c with the fans screaming. This is new with the patch. As soon as I quit the game my computer is fine. The main battle computer is Win7/64, 250 gig SSD, 16 gig ram, and this game is the only thing that is causing issues.

2.) Me, and many players like me, play one game at a time. We get invested in a game and play it exclusively. When I go play another game I'll be invested in that one. I'm not coming back. Many other people who already left or are going to with this issue wont come back either. I understand the concept of 'churn' in a player-base, but one would assume that 'keeping more players than you lose' is probably a better strategy than 'gain one, lose one' would be.

3.) People say to go do something else to relax, it's only a game.
This IS what I do to relax, among a few other things.
If there was other stuff to do - I'd be doing THAT to relax.
But this is part of my repertoire. Which circles back to #2... When I'm out of here and playing another game, I'm not coming back, and my sub fee isn't staying here to fund further development. So the player-base will be growing just a little slower, or shrinking just a little faster.

But at least we can stay friends.
    :)

Today's patch really did some damage...rollbacks, NPCs offering me quests that I have already completed, random load screens, random punts off to character select, and I have Windows now shutting the game down every 10-15 minutes for memory problems. I had no troubles like this before today's patch.

I'm in the same boat man, having the same issues that did NOT exist before the patch. The memory leak is the worst though. I thought TOR's memory issues were bad... At least I could play TOR lol..

Hopefully they fix the major game-stopping issues soon, because I cannot play at all. I log in and after 5 minutes I either experience a rollback to 5 minutes prior, or a complete computer freeze up...

Rollback. And just the idea of patch before weekend and obviously nobody at the office.

And even patching the EU server after the outcry from the NA server. Seems Zenimax is completely out of touch with their playerbase.

I've noticed more crashes also. I find that the "interaction range" (with "E") is shorter. I haven't noticed anything at all that improves game play with my nightblade. I haven't noticed more "rune sites", but I think I've noticed more high iron nodes *shrug*.

This patch can go away and I wouldn't miss it.

Damage has been done to the player base, hopefully most know that this sort of thing is part of playing an MMO. Patching over the current patch with the old settings would work far better than a rollback as they really tick off players. I've played a few MMO that did 2 and 3 day rollbacks, folks were pissed. Those MMOs aren't around these days

It's strange that people this patch is synonymous with VR mob changes, considering they can look for themselves and see the innumerable broken skills, unrefunded points, memory leaks, crashes, infinite loading screens, FPS drops, broken quests, broken dungeons, numerous video errors (pink/black textures), greater interface delay and sound errors. To name a few.

This recent ...i wanna call it incident.. really hit me a bit too hard to enjoy the game
that has grown on me, despite of all bugs ect.
The Mob difficulty in open world is beyond bearable in addition with the random crashes.Dirtnaps around every corner is the result and makes the game almost unenjoyable to me . Roll Back...Star trek ...whatever ...a massive fix is needed.

Hell id even say take all servers down for 2-3 days or whatever is needed ...bring the game halfway fixed up again ...and give the playing community some "im sorry"
    candy.
