The sheer amount of conniptions this gives me are through the roof. It does over 9,000 damage and heals for 33% but I don’t use it because it has to have a ridiculous red glow constantly as an indicator for absolutely nothing.

It should just be a combat setting since opinions are this varied. The only person to benefit from seeing this is the player, if it has to exist it should be optional.

    I too am thoroughly connipped.

Anyone who can make an addon that just.. removes it and puts it back on the bar to remove the glow automatically out of combat or with a key press?

I made a thread requesting an addon like it if anyone has any ideas to add to it: https://www.esoui.com/forums/showthread.php?p=51855#post51855

The requested feature was added to this addon: https://www.esoui.com/downloads/info4141-ImpifiedUI.html

Just wanted to ask about this. Addon definitely works to eliminate the glow, but it seems that it does so by eliminating the stacks - so shortly after combat is over, the stacks drop to zero and all benefit is gone. Of course, after U47 and the proposed changes, it may not be as big of a deal for those who will just back bar for Major buff. Nice addon regardless. Thanks

Shouldn’t the stacks drop shortly after combat like Arcanist crux? I much prefer the original indication and animation. I’ve stopped using Grim Focus since it switched to the Permaglow — not counting trying it briefly after some time away to confirm it still ruined my weapon styling.

There should at least be styles for this skill, purple for a Nocturnal themed Nightblade, green for rangers and for coordinating Assassination and Tome Herald skill lines, invisible/clear for those who don’t want extra glow effects…

Adding duration to it would be the ideal, Bound Armaments, which is pretty much Grim Focus' twin, has stacks that only lasts 10 seconds.
@MorvanClaude on PC/NA, don't try to trap me with lore subjects, it will work🦇

So is the nightblade glow just to spite us or is someone at Zos really into it?

I mean... it's not making the glow invisible. It's just not replacing the weapons with a completely different motif.
New Molten Weapons skill style in U50

Just leaves the glow, does not replace weapons.

Yeah but what about this then.

Why do they listen to feedback for this but ignore this massive thread? I'm gonna assume at this point that they can't do it. The glow is hardbaked into the game and removing it breaks everything else. This is the coconut.jpg of eso.

Yeah I was kinda bummed, they did to Werewolf exactly what we've been asking to have on Grim Focus for ages, having the effect pop only when it's ready to cast.

I do think this will be addressed whenever NB gets the class refresh though.

2028 can't come soon enough then.. Assuming they stick to the current order and speed of the rollout.
    1. Dragonknight
    2. Warden
    3. Sorcerer
    4. Templar
    5. Nightblade
    6. Necromancer

considering that we're getting 3 class reworks (plus werewolf) this year, it should still be happening in 2027.

Now werewolf gets the same treatment, lucky me with a Werewolf Nightblade.

Seems ZOS took the wrong lesson from the hype around GW2 and instead of the many things that are done better over there, they implement the things that are worse: bland linear story with no personal agenda and over the top gaudy graphic effects.

No, no it all makes sense! As Vestige, we have often served Meridia! Do you SEE?! We are the glowing light effects! We're like prismatic, corporeal incarnations of the Daedric Prince's Colored Rooms! /s

Going insane is the only way I've handled the endless glowing garbage lol

We're getting Sorcerer on Season Two which is later this year, Nightblade is very likely to happen by 2027 but I don't think we can confirm that, things could be delayed if they decide to refresh more weapons and other skill lines like Vampire.

Hey at least now I can use the damn ability, I just have to sacrifice a stray rat or squirrel along my path to rid myself of the glow.

If you have enough charges to fire it. Otherwise, you gotta sacrifice a pack of them.

Would be awesome if our Skill Styles managed to color the proc’d bow color aswell, seeing how it is part of the skill…
Dragon Priest [Restoring Light, Draconic Power, Grave Lord]
Death Knight [Grave Lord, Winter’s Embrace, Siphoning]
Pyromancer [Ardent Flame, Dawn’s Wrath, Earthen Heart]
Summoner [Living Death, Grave Lord, Daedric Summoning]
Ranger [Animal Companions, Green Balance, Shadow]
Druid [Earthen Heart, Animal Companions, Stormcalling]
Elementalist [Stormcalling, Winter’s Embrace, Ardent Flame]
Dawnguard [Dawn’s Wrath, Restoring Light, Ardent Flame]

I just don't know why this is still such an issue at this point. People have complained about this long before the layoffs. How hard is it to turn off a red glow? Or change the color of it when a skill style is attached? Or turn off the red glowing orb if you have weapons that disappear when sheathed? Has the coding challenge for something like this really become so insurmountable or is ignoring it just becoming a running joke at this point?

I know it's a small thing, but this in-house engine for ESO is like Frankensteins monster at this point. And it's death by a thousand cuts

Hey, they made the change for the new overload skill style in a few days. Not unreasonable to think this could be addressed. At this point it's just deliberately ignoring years of requests
