The hidden Vengeance Feedback Link

So aparently these questions for Feedback were going out per mail to these who participated Vengeance.
But aparently only if youre registred on the forum and then aswell only if you got the marketing settings ✔️ active.. So only 1% oft he 1 % oft he playerbase using the forum, recieved the option to give feedback to Vengeance.

And then we see Zos claiming how sucessful the tests were and how positive the reviews…

If you really want Feedback, why not announce the Link to these questions on the ingame startpage or in a ingame notification?

Anyway here ist he link for these who are interested in giving their feedback to Vengeance :

https://t2.email.bethesda.net/r/?id=h30099b24,110d8bbf,1114d8dd&e=dmFyPTEmdXRtX2NhbXBhaWduPUVTT19SXzIwMjVfMDdfRVNPVmVuZ2VhbmNlVGVzdFN1cnZleSZ1dG1fbWVkaXVtPWVtYWlsJnV0bV9zb3VyY2U9QmV0aGVzZGFFbWFpbE1hcmtldGluZyZwMT04MmViYTMyZjJlMDEyOTY0YjZmYWUyODhjNzAwYzUwMTA4ODBiY2U0YmZjMzlmMzZiNTI5YjA1YjQ0YzE2YmYx&s=j27psr-30clXdKTq2bD9MKIgGRO_B9UG7pOPZLb-rtI

And for those who are not in the forum registrated but reading this ; you dont need to be on the forum registrated to use the link for giving your feedback about vengeance.
Just had to be registered + marketing permissions on to even recieve them :grimace:

Ah I see. I didn't get that Mail either. Even though I am here in forums and participated. To be forced to have marketing settings on is not a nice way, sure I want to participate in this feedback, but I don't want to be spammed with everything else.

Also is that survey only in English? Because if so you reduce the number of participants even further, especially in europe where english is not the most spoken first language.

I dont know, since only one person in my guild of 40 people got this E-mail (even when we all participated) and the person is english.

I played and did not get the survey. However, I probably am set to not receive marketing emails. As Cyro being the only thing keeping me playing ESO, then it is kind of disappointing that they did not have alternate means to provide feedback.

I do have one question. Why did the survey ask if I could imagine playing such a campaign more often / permanently? And why was it asked what is important to me in Cyrodiil? For me, these are not questions that reveal what needs to be improved, but whether this campaign should be permanent. But it could also just be pessimism

The solution isn't some back end tweaks to be able to run the same stuff that's on live, they need the information to which sacrifices are at least somewhat approved by their community. Cyro isn't gonna work as is, it's not only impossible for them it's not drawing people in, both old and new ones. Hence the tests.

Unfortunately, this is completely the wrong approach. Enough information has already been provided in advance about what is wrong. For many long-time PvP players, this campaign is a slap in the face. Months have been invested to get to the level where you are and now you are supposed to play with a template so that everyone has the same chances. The chances have always been the same, they were just used differently.

You want more people in the mode, then you should introduce a practice battle and not a mini tutorial. Maybe you should also listen to the community when they criticise something like the problem with the BGs and RoA.

As I said before, the questions for me are not aimed at performance problems, but whether this mode is popular.

I only got the email on the account I participated in the campaign with.

Funny though that my 'participation' was porting into the campaign to check the vendors (because it was the Zenithar event), realise that they were disabled, utter some words that I won't repeat in polite company and porting out.

I guess I could give feedback about that :D

The way how they are questioning stuff makes it look like they are planning to make this a permanent thing. And if thats not just a EXTRA campaign but the only one - then its a rip ESO for me.

I have not spent years and loads of money to farm my gear together just to have it being deleted from pvp.

I got it even though the only reason I entered Cyrodiil during Vengeance was to quickly get out of IC lol. So I didn't do the survey. They should probably have sent it based on time spent or some other criteria.

youre absolutely wrong, as you can read below.

    qad7u6mzjad0.jpeg

Only got the email if you agreed to get emails by zos AKA the marketing setting here in the forum.
Aka limited the chance to get this email to the lowest option, because again only a really really tiny percentage of the player base is A using the forum and B having marketing enabled, because nobody likes adverts etc.
    Desiato wrote: »
Random sampling is a normal process to avoid bias in data collection -- like they would see if they posted a link in the forums or reddit. They can read for themselves what people here think. They wanted a broader perspective to balance the direct feedback they receive.

Here is a good enough explanation:
Random sampling is a way to sample in which everyone in the population has a chance of being chosen for the sample, and whoever’s picked is chosen completely at random. This is great because there’s no bias – some people aren’t more likely to be picked than others. Plus, anyone from your population could conceivably be picked for your sample, so you can be more confident your results match what your population really thinks.

The simplest way to understand random sampling is to think of someone pulling slips of paper at random out of a hat. Every slip of paper in the hat has an equal chance of being plucked out. So if every slip of paper has a name on it, every name has an equal chance of getting picked. That means that it is “random” which names get picked.

But so much for that. Regardless, there was no treachery here.

I dont say its treachery, i just question to limit the optiont to take part so much down, instead of announcing it like ingame or something.

If they want feedback thats the best option - people can decide themseld if they go on the link then aswell, but have the option at least.

Its not exactly random sampling either, as he writes:
„The survey was sent out to all players who participated in the test who were also opted in to receive email communication from us.“
aka marketing opt in in a low (by the massed) used forum.

    Thats my whole point.

But yeah, if there's an issue here it's that I assume many, if not most, players opt out of marketing emails. But that's not related to the forum.

Now that I have done the survey, the question regarding, what you enjoy in CURRENT (not in vengeance) Cyrodiil, seems to wrongly been represented in the last survey review. The question is not generally asked, what you WOULD enjoy, but what you CURRENTLY enjoy, many players klicked the lag free smooth performance, even though thats not a current thing, but a wish. If that question was the same in the last survey it should yield results the other way around, with performance being the lowest and Customizable option top.

Got the survey in my own e-mail, and stated Champions test 1 should be the future of ESO PvP as it is fair and accessible without immortal gods running around. And that Vengeance already went too far with adding abilities.

PS: It seems PvPers(immortals) fear the popularity of the Champions and Vengeance PvP tests.

If that description is correct, why did I get a survey only for the second test and not the first? I participated in both and have not touched any account settings for years. I opted in to communications ages ago. I even still have the email they sent trying to get me to participate in the first Vengeance test. (I was going to anyhow.) Just not the survey for that one.

Without me changing anything at all, and participating the same amount in the second test as in the first, I have a survey for the second test.

I looked through my forum settings and I don't see any marketing options at all. Do you have them?

It seems marketing preferences can also be set in-game, so maybe that's how console players can do it?

As others have pointed out, marketing e-mails are completely unrelated to the forum. It's in your ESO account settings, which are separate from and unrelated to the forum.

You absolutely do not need a forum account because I have gotten mails on alt accounts that aren't on the forum.

(Also, the forums aren't even hosted by ZOS. They're hosted by a third party and they don't even share the same account system as actual game accounts. This is why changing our ESO account name doesn't change your forum account name. This is why the forums are still up even if the entire data center hosting ESO's account system goes into a fire suppression emergency shutdown like what happened several months ago. These are separate systems.)

Forgive me.. I've had about 5 hours of sleep the last few nights because of IRL stuff.

When you ask someone their "top 3" there should be NOTHING that is as similar as this. You're going to dilute the truth of those two options and (intentionaly or not) drop them lower in the poll because of questions like mine... whats the difference. @ZOS_Kevin

Only difference I see is enless builds (PVE/PvP? is what what we are tyring to figure out..?) and then builds in PVP.

You can have customizable build options with their current vengance skills... just the majority of people hate those build options.

Maybe I just answered my own question and thats the difference...

    - Would you prefer everyone have a template style build
    - Endless build options

I think this is what they meant. IDK... very poor phrasing IMO and this is a VERY IMPORTANT part of vengance. I hate the fact the top complaint (build choices vs template) was phrased this poorly. /TiredOlGrumpGrump

Is there a like... preview option... I can opt into where surveys can be tested with the "average joe" to see if they make sense. Arg

Player feedback only goes so far for Vengeance because it's not a new mode replacing Cyrodiil, it's a performance test. So I don't think there's some conspiracy to hide the feedback link.

Only players who played Vengeance this time should give feedback on it.

I played in the Vengeance Campaign on PS/NA most days for an hour or so. I received the survey email, and I am happy that ZOS sent me one!

Separately, about the Account, and the Marketing Preferences. I have an account for ESO, because I use it to follow up on bug reports that I submit. Anyone that plays the game should be able to get an account here

Having an Account is separate from the Forum. My ESO Account login has a different username and password than my ESO Forum login.

When you login to your Account, you will see a choice for Marketing Preferences. I have the choice checked for "Sign me up for the latest Bethesda game news, updates, access to exclusive betas, and more!" I do not have the choice checked for "I want to be included in custom campaign groups for more relevant ads and targeted content". In the past 30 days, I have received 7 emails from The Elder Scrolls Online. One for the Vengeance Campaign survey, two about Free Scribing, one about Vengeance Returns, one about June News and Updates, one about Zeal of Zenithar, and one about Crown Crates.

I am not sure that ZOS can send survey emails to people who have not given permission as described above. Different countries have different laws, and ESO is played worldwide.

I'm wondering though, why didn't ZOS post the link to the survey on these forums to begin with?
