Fake tanks And healers, vet dlc. Please no.

Im literally getting burned out and want to quit because of fake tanks.

I own about 65-70% of the dlc dungeons. Every day i queue vet random. When i dont own the dlc, i get vet base game which is smooth. And sometimes i get a competent tank for a vet dlc. But most of the time i get a dps with a taunt who cant do the final boss.

I wait 30+ minutes, there is some *** pretending to be tank so he could skip in line, we can clear trash and early bosses, but always get stuck on final.

The tell for a fake tank who wont be able to clear final boss is a tank who is doing significant dps. Ive never had a smooth run without contnuous wipes on final boss if the tank is also putting out good damage. Probably because he requires much more of the healers resources and attention.

The past three nights my pug got stuck because fake tank. Yo ***. If you are putting out serious dps that also means you are squishy, your gear isnt right. Dont queue as tank. Your selfishness is ruining the game for other players.

Ive had enough bad experiences that im not going to queue random vet anymore. Its not easy to coordinate a guild run when you have 1 hour after work. Half of that is waiting in queue, the other half is wiping on last boss. And if im not able to enjoy vet dlc dungeons i paid for, im not going to play.

Sadly, the game would be better if i didnt own the dlc dungeons, because i could queue vet dlc and get base game.

Throw your hat in the ring and become the tank and be a solution, or just keep playing random roulette. I do a fair bit of specific queues to farm and rarely have issues in vet. They do pop up, but not often and the queue times are not over 15-20min typically.

I do think there are "selfish" tanks proliferating in vet content.

I have several rules when making a *PVE* tank:
    1) hit the armor cap (~33100 iirc) and as little over as possible
    2) try not to exceed 35k HP
    3) a block cost of 700 is acceptable
    4) make sure to have the Big Eight buffs/debuffs:
    Major/Minor Vuln
    Major/Minor Breach
Major/Minor Courage (or similar for group)
    Major/Minor Maim
    5) any more DPS buffs you can find (e.g. Arcanist taunt armor shred, or synergies)
    6) a pull (usually an arsenal of AOE short range for engages and long-range single target)
    7) rely on buffs/self-heals for most normal tanking and only NEED the healer to get through rough mechanics here and there

    There's also combat rules:
    1) face boss away
    2) keep boss still
    3) grab adds and stack on boss (where possible while surviving)

There's more besides of course, but I often see tanks with survival and healing who can tank a boss for days but do little else.

I run vet dlc for helm and purple gear for my dps.

The easy solution is just to buy helms from golden vendor. I think the problem is that vet dlc is too difficult for half the player base, but it doesn't matter because they can buy rewards with gold and transmute to whatever trait they want.

I guess this is where the game is. Why develop and equip a tank when you can just buy any helm from golden vendor, and you can just farm normal version of the dlc for gear sets you want? If there was more incentive to run vet content, there would be more people doing it, queue times would be faster, and there would be less desperate dps posing as tanks.

This problem can probably be traced back to helms being purchaseable with gold. There is no real incentive to run vet. The normal versions are faceroll. The player base just isn't motivated and/or good enough for vet dlcs.

Vets aren't really that hard either for the most part, the hard modes to require more coordination. A stream team member does a community dungeon night every Friday. I join the queue and can usually knock out whatever hard mode I pick to complete. I think I did both of the new dungeons two weeks ago, and I am only missing Shipwrights Regret and Bal Sunnar now. Bal Sunnar was the only one really that we tried and didn't get in time, but the group was slightly different that week.

I mostly do vets for loot for my trade guilds, some motifs are still worth enough to list for my guild traders. I used to do dungeons on my tank(s) to farm for my dps. Now I just do the yearly trial for the new sets. Eventually gear will not be an issue at all and it really doesn't take that long to fill your stickerbook. Trials are 100% for me and Dungeons are probably 80-90%. I am missing mostly arena sets from MA (non weapons) and DSA/BRP. Though I have the important stuff for the most part like daggers and staves.

The biggest issue I find is low CP joining vet without the basics or knowing what Ragnarok listed like hitting armor cap. That is harder to do at CP300 when you're missing all the passives and cannot slot mitigations. I have seen some lower tanks do a pretty solid job for their level though, but it can vary greatly in vet dlc.

The only time ever hear anyone complain about "Fake" whatever are these forums.... no one in game is saying boo about it.

And then he'll see what we mean about fake dps!

Oh yes they do! I've seen complaints, especially from the party about tanks. Some just complain, so complain and leave. If the fake is a speed runner a vote kick will pass, if you have time to complete it.

I hear people grumble about it in game quite often. I'd go as far to say that during my typical ESO day, I see more people defending fake roles in these forums than I ever see willing to openly do so in game.

All yesterday I would announce...hey guys fake take here...at the most someone would say: "Do you know the Run?"

So I thought I would run vet trials for a solid month daily announce that I was a fake tank and see how many people will flip out....I'll make a post in a month with my findings but so far no one cares....

Do that in newer vet dlc, :* I usually just leave and avoid engaging them. Make a note and do something else or hop on a different DPS.

So you're just pretending to be fake? I don't understand, but I guess it doesn't matter if the group could clear without much pain or extreme time investment.
