So there is one room per companion, but which one goes with which companion? I'm sure it's supposed to be obvious, but I need a clue...

The rooms are decorated with accents related to the companion whose room it is; e.g. Lyris's room has Nord banners.

Ok, I suspected that but I'm not familiar enough with the themes to know which goes with which. That's why I asked the question. So one down, 4 to go... :-)

One of the rooms has either high elf or Alinor things in it (I’m at work but I remember looking when it first came out), so that’s Mannimarco’s room. One is purely Imperial stuff so that’s Varen’s room. One is a mix of Imperial and Elsweyr so it is conjectured that that is Abnur Tharn’s room, with the Elsweyr stuff relating to his role with the dragons. And I think one is Redguard stuff so that’s Sai Sahan. 🙂

But Elsweyr came after the main story chronologically by release date. I think there is some acknowledgement in the Elsweyr quest that the character has already met Tharn if you have done the main quest too. I know you can argue that the game can be played out of order, but that is not possible if you started in the beginning.

Besides, Tharn’s home is in Cyrodiil and he has connections there. He should have an Imperial banner too.

Then I wonder if the 100% Imperial one is Tharn’s and the other Imperial/Elsweyr room is Varen’s?

I don't remember anything about Varen in Elsweyr?

It turns out the inner room doorways have a flat top instead of a rounded one. The Colovian wooden door may fit.

UPDATE: To fit exactly right it also needed Colovian Doorway, Plaster which I sunk into the wall so only the frame around the door showed. I also noticed on all five doors there is a discrepancy where on the outside of the door, the lines of the stones do not line up properly when you are on the outside of the room, but from the inside they do.

The lore gets kinda vague, but the Tharn family has ties to Elsweyr pre-dating the Base Game. Abnur Tharn's half sister is the Queen of Rimmen, but that supposedly comes to pass around 7 years before the start of the main story. But it's also after Varen is betrayed by Manimarco and thus after the fall of the 5 companions. The Tharn family is known to reside within Imperial territory of which could at one time encompass Northern Elsweyr, but we run into members of the Tharn family all over Tamriel. So <shrug>... who knows.

Hmm, then the Elsweyr room is probably supposed to be Tharn’s room (with a whole lot of hand waving).

I guess each room could be decorated for its respective companion, then little rope barriers put up in a rectangular shape going into the room so you could walk into each room a little ways and look at the room as if it was a museum room for that companion. Hmmm… 🤔

PS. Oh, I wonder if there’s a door in the game that would fit the doorways?

SOmetimes I use curtains, and there is one deadlands door that I've had luck with it opens and shuts. Doors and windows are a constant problem.

Hmm, I hadn't even noticed that the rooms had different styles; they all looked bare and identical to me. I'll have to take a closer look at them! :)

I think a lot of us in the rp community would pay to upgrade this house, or any house really, to Notable. Just to get access to the higher values for visitors, furnishings, etc. It's always nice to get a free house, but the ability to upgrade it would make it more valuable to a lot of people. Personally, I don't really have a need for huge open spaces in current Notable houses, but I would love being able to fit lots more in my cozier homes.
