It's literally free. You just have to play the game.

They were hoping artificial scarcity would make you not look at what you're getting and only focus on whether or not you can get it.

I will admit it's a bit odd. I like the companions' table feature, and even if I don't decorate it there are a lot of plants I can use elsewhere. To (mis-)quote "What else I'm going to use my tickets on.". :-)

Most requests for new houses have been for the addition of more Classic and smaller homes. There's really no winning for them at this point. Someone will always complain about it.

I've seen several rp guilds disappointed because not being notable means you cannot have 24 people present. This home is really nice with a lot of good open space, really good for hosting big rp events... except the population cap is lower due to it being classic. That's the main complaint I keep seeing in different places.

I'm not complaining about free stuff, but only allowing 8 collectibles to be placed in a house that is called the 5 companions seems a bit limiting. I put in 5 companions, a mount in the stable and then couldn't put up the banker, the armory assistant and the merchant.

I get the desire for houses sized like for example Ravenhurst, but why not just make a notable house sized down like that so it has the full furnishing cap?

And on that note, why not let us purchase furnishing cap upgrades for all homes up to the notable cap?

Personally I don't have a problem furnishing notable homes. Worst case scenario I'll just seal off sections and focus on smaller areas, but usually it just requires using large and "loud" items to create the illusion of filling up certain spaces. Not to mention exercising some self restraint when it comes to microcluttering all surfaces with single details.

It's a huge house that's meant for collecting, so making it Notable for the extra slots, display places, and crowds would be well worth a house that takes 5 pieces over 3 months of events.

Plus, the last event fragment house was Notable (albeit more of an empty plot):

Oh please. This house is not comparable to what players are actually asking for. Releasing a big house with "Classic" style slots is not what people want. More homes like Seabloom Villa are rather what has been asked for.

It's just a haven or get-together place for the Five Companions. It doesn't even have a lot of rooms and floors, just the one floor with the meeting table in the center and five additional rooms, one for each Companion. That is to say, purely from a lore perspective it isn't meant to be a home per se, more like a sort of guild hall for the Five Companions when they need to meet.

i believe you're thinking of Grand Gallery of Tamriel as that's the museum house meant for displaying collectibles and stuff like statues, which is notable.

the Five Companions house doesn't have that purpose.
i love notable homes, but this being classic should be fine for what it is.

The only things i can think of adding to it are achievement furnishings from the main quest and other zone stories with the Companions, like the Molag Bal statue, and some furnishings from their cultures' furnishing styles to fit in their rooms.

The circular design makes it hard to close off part and have the rest make sense...

I like the idea of a furnishing cap that we can pay to raise.

Personally I think the entire idea of limited furniture slots is outdated. Let's say the absolute maximum amount of furniture is 700 like all the manor type homes have... why not have that same limit for all the smaller homes?

There is no good reason why smaller homes have smaller furniture limits.

This is where the five companions made their plans, plans which backfired! Mannimarco, the traitor, secretly made his own plans. And you, vestige, after you were dragged before the vile Mannimarco, you stepped in to upright the disaster.

There is no good reason why smaller homes have smaller furniture limits.

I've been wondering if excessive amounts of furnishings is why some players have experienced things like "disappearing" furnishings in their houses. And in this respect, "furnishings" includes any items that players use to create their own buildings and other constructs.

When I log or port into a popular hub city that's crowded with a lot of other players, it sometimes takes several minutes for objects to be rendered in-- including my own objects, such as if I summon an assistant and then must wait patiently for it to be rendered in so I can finally interact with the prompt that's been there the whole time.

Note, I'm not blaming the servers here, because based on what people have said in these forums, some players experience very little delay in rendering, while others experience lengthy delays, so a large part of this could be due to differences on the client machines-- graphics cards and drivers, memory and processors, etc-- as well as internet connections and the pathways taken from the player's computer to the game's servers and back.

In other words, I'm sure it's a complicated issue, and that trying to oversimplify it doesn't help.

But getting back to housing, we've seen posts and threads where players complain about objects that "disappear" from their houses and guild halls, even though some of their visitors and guild members can port in and see the "missing" objects just fine, which to me sounds a lot like what I experience when I log into a character in Vivec City and can't see half of the objects and NPCs in the crafting and banking hub because they haven't rendered in yet.

If different players' computers and internet pathways can handle the same game data demands with apparently different results, it would seem that establishing suitable furnishing limits that will work well on all computers and consoles must be a lot more complex than we realize.

Sure there is. ESO makes more money off of Notable houses and increasing the furnishing counts for smaller houses would cut into that.
