This is the official feedback thread for the new Golden Pursuits system. Specifically, the focus is on testing the experience and function of Golden Pursuits. Specific feedback that the team is looking for includes the following:
  • How was your experience with the test campaigns for Golden Pursuits?
  • Did you find it intuitive to locate Golden Pursuits and understand the tasks required to achieve rewards?
  • Was it easy for you to track your progress while participating in the campaign? How did you feel about claiming rewards?
  • Do you have any other general feedback?

Task are broad enough which is good because we are not forced to do specific trial or dungeon - giving some space for choices is important :) They are easy to understand.

How much time it will be in life server? 8 days? 10-14 days would be great, because it would be frustrating to miss some rewards only because you left for a week (for vacation or something). We don't need too much FOMO :P

Most important thing - I didn't have time yest to test it, but I hope that completing 8 tasks for main reward don't lock other tasks? Some tasks have additional rewards and it would be really bad if you can miss it only because you done other things first. We don't want experience when players are afraid to refine materials or go to dungeon/trial BEFORE doing BGS task for that additional crate. It sometime happens with extra rewards in endavours system and to be honest - it's bad design when players are afraid to play some parts of game before another in fear of missing some rewards.

How was your experience with the test campaigns for Golden Pursuits?
It was the same as doing endeavors, just more of them.

Did you find it intuitive to locate Golden Pursuits and understand the tasks required to achieve rewards?
Yes, expected location and tasks were simple enough.

Was it easy for you to track your progress while participating in the campaign? How did you feel about claiming rewards?
Bringing up Pursuits menu while mounted dismounts you. Very bad experience. Does not happen if any other category in Activities is selected. Other than that, all ok.

How was your experience with the test campaigns for Golden Pursuits?

It went pretty fast. I think it could be fun if it happens occasionally and isn't too much harder but, it could get to be annoying if it's too frequent. I want to feel like I'm playing games because I want to rather than because the game design is driving me to do it with rewards.

Did you find it intuitive to locate Golden Pursuits and understand the tasks required to achieve rewards?

It was easy to locate but, the gold at the top does stand out a bit and kinda gets annoying.

Was it easy for you to track your progress while participating in the campaign? How did you feel about claiming rewards?

It was easy to follow and claim rewards. It got a little annoying getting dismounted when I went to check progress on the ones I wasn't tracking.

Do you have any other general feedback?

Kill 70 Foes in Dungeons counts foes killed in Public Dungeons is this intended behavior?

Turning on and off the sorc ult counts as using it for the 50 Ults used. Is this intended behavior?

It has worked this way for the 2+ years we've had endeavors. The same is true of summoning the warden bear. It's not really that much of a time savings over other ults, just need to use an ult well between casts for other ults.

Since i did purchase the Shor's Fox for a lot of money i'm really annoyed as a client because i fell i was cheated.

I would never have purchased it knowing it would have become free for everyone and for sure this will reduce my future in game spending.

Agreed. I really liked this mount and bought it with crowns... I am not a fan of crown items becoming free rewards. While it is true that the game is sorely lacking earnable rewards, it is just disappointing to see the items you paid for becoming freebies. Not only it means that you are not earning anything because you already have the item, it feels like you wasted your money because you could have gotten it for free if you waited a bit.
At the very least it should have a different color scheme and preferably a different saddle/mask as well.

On a different note, 7 days is too short of a time period for a battle pass like this. I could see people grinding out the first few and then getting burned out. Too much FOMO is never good.

Sad to admit it, but stuff like this is working. For example, I would barely login nowadays if there was no Seals of Endeavors system... Golden Pursuits is somewhat similar, so if final reward is interesting, I will have to perform those additional tasks as well.

My preferred gameplay rarely includes those tasks, so sometimes I have to go out of my way to complete them; sometimes I even skip them because I just can't force myself into certain activities anymore.

When Iron Orc Welwa mount was released as free login reward, I felt very bad for everyone who previously purchased it from the store :/ After that, I prefer to not buy any of mounts from the store (at least those which are sold for crowns directly).

I was really tempted to buy Abyssal Bunny + Shor's Fox package - and this fear of it being released for free later was exactly the thing which stopped me. Fox mount as upcoming reward really confirms that customer's frustration was ignored :'(
I've purchased some direct mounts before this, and it's disheartening that they all might return as free rewards somewhere...

In the past, I also got burned by spending 100 + 100 gems on Clouded Senche-Leopard mount (and matching pet) from Storm Atronach crates, and literally after a month or two they both were given away for free as Twitch drops :(

I dislike this reward model because I understand how it feels to waste money on cosmetic items which are then given away for free. At the same time, such rewards allow players to spend less money :o

Some daily login rewards were much better: everyone got a chance to unlock a previously unreleased mount/some other cosmetic; and only after some those items went into the crown store for a price.

All I had done was the new tutorial, and I noticed this:

Looks like kills from the new Coldharbour tutorial may be counting as dungeon kills for Golden Pursuits.

Haven't tested but just wanted to say that even if I often purchase from the store, I wouldn't be against having store items given out for free after a while, I find it kind and appreciate :)

I'm not invalidating other's opinion, just adding mine.
A: "We, as humans, should respect and take care of each other like in a Co-op, not a PvP 🌸"
B: "Too many words. Words bad. Won't read. ⚔️"

    Fair enough :)
But there is still an issue when those who already bought the mount are essentially missing out on battlepass rewards.

The Golde Pursuit is an absolutely awesome idea!

For it to become even better: give us rewards exclusive to this system!

Seals of endeavors are really cool. But at the end of the day, you will only get stuff people effortlessly get by dropping a huge amount of real money.

If we get stuff exclusive to this system, only those who actually invested their time will be rewarded!

World of Warcraft is a very good example of rewarding players with cosmetics only obtainable through gameplay.

These rewards feel more unique, more special. They work as a medal for your efforts.

I'm not saying we shouldn't get crown store items with this sytem. I'm saying there's enough room for exclusive stuff also!

Plus: It's been announced Golden Pursuits should not be available all the time. This is a letdown. This system look very very promising. Give us the opportunity to chase them ALL the time.

Another problem i see with this is that as a collector missing something will torment me forever.

For real life inevitable circumstances (i changed house) i was unable to log in in the period where we could reedem the "Dragon Rise" event rewards and this is tormenting me ever since.
At least make those items return periodically in a golden vendor of sorts.

Can we disable all announcements about Golden Pursuits, or are we going to be pestered with announcements and reminders even if we have no interest in another reward-driven distraction from our preferred form of gameplay? If not, we should be able to!

Definitely a great addition to the game, I hope you guys can bring lots of exclusive cool stuff to Golden Pursuits, if taken care well enough, it might turn into the reward system we've been asking for so long.
@MorvanClaude on PC/NA, don't try to trap me with lore subjects, it will work

Why add another fomo thing to the game?

Yes having something to do that offers rewards is nice! Yes getting crown stuff for playing is nice! We are in desperate need of more earn able rewards! But why does it have to be some fomo stuff again?

Why not give us a currency that we can exchange at a vendor for nice stuff. Or give us endeavors and a merchant that has a broader inventory with stuff to buy.

Why do I have to plan my time around a fixed reward time frame, instead of playing when I want, the amount of time I want? Why is it always "Hey come play in that time frame, that activity to get fomo reward X"?

Most of the time it will be something I do not care about. The moment something comes up that I want, I most likely will not have the time. Or maybe I won't see it until it is to late.get fomo reward X"?

Losing items witout a way to get them again may break the player collection and create detachment on the game.
This strategy will increase continuous play on the short run but make the game lose players on the long.

People naturally concentrate more on what they missed than on what they have.

My take on it, is that it's likely to be a tool to assuage the FOMO playeres.

Remember the fiasco that was this past Jubilee, and the hoards of players screaming about the horrible drop chances due to rng?

Golden Pursuits looks to be the perfect mechanism to utilize during events to mitigate the rng factor and reduce the Zerg mentality that every event boils down to. I think a majority of players would prefer to see a progress mechanic to achieve their rewards instead of relying upon RNG. I for one am so done with WB/Incursion zergs (I haven't touched a geyser since last Jubilee in fear I may puke).
