Credit card problem. I can't buy eso subscription.

This will probably get me banned from forum but... need to say it:

Gold Road is out. Will probably miss the "start" of the expansion, and I will lack the "achievement" to join new trial etc. Yey...

I also don't have eso plus any more because it expired so my inventory is a mess, I can't access the dlcs, etc.

At this point at least tell me something like "hey... we are not supporting your region any more, and we do not plan to change that" (I'm basing that on the error received, the fact the it needs 6 digits to check the country and that is when error appear, and the fact that my country does not appear on the front page any more if I select to buy a new game).

It feels like you really don't want us as players any more... at least say so.

Also be transparent and say what the problem really is and if you actually plan to solve it. You don't support that country any more? Fine. Tell me that so I know if I have to buy stuff on steam (which is just plain unfair because after I bought the full price base game on launch, and paid 10 years of sub you ask me to buy the base game again... for myself and the kids... so basically 5x the price... after I already paid it) or just leave the game entirely... But don't keep me waiting and checking the forum and payment every day to see if "maybe is working today". The other thread was opened on 9th of May... been a month already. Is fair to assume that the release of the expansion took precedence. FINE. But pls. say that. Pls. say "we will take care of it in 2 months" or "we will never fix it". Stop being disrespectful with my time. Ofc, if you tell me the issue will never be fix or give a terrible timing I won't be happy. But I will be able to make a choice on how to proceed.

Why are you doing this? Make no sense... does forum visits and failed payments give you any benefit? The benefit is in payment working... literally... you made this game so us, the players, have fun, and in exchange for fun we give you money. We are happier, you (as a company) are happier. I get doing something that harms other if you get a benefit (not like the practice, like for example lootboxes, but I get it). But this is something that harms you (you don't get money), and harms the players (we are frustrated by stuff like this). This is plain stupid, except the case when it costs you more to support the payments (and in that case is... just half stupid?). In that case... just tell us that; there is no reason to string us along... WE ARE NOT PLAYING ANYWAY, and you don't get anything from us like this.

    You're absolutely right.

On the one hand I've got Worldline Global telling me that the reason this happens is when the merchant disables card processing for certain geographical regions. On the other hand Zenimax are saying that this is not a deliberate change.

I work with Worldline Global for several of my clients, I have an account manager there. He is unequivocal in his assertion that the only way this happens is through deliberate changes made to the merchant's Worldline Global subscription using their account management portal.

Zenimax on the other hand say this is a 'tech' issue.

When trying to decide who to believe, I'm going to stick with the vendor that knows their product inside-out.

could it be that the things there are so out of order that right hand doesn't know what left is doing and left is doing almost anything they feel like it (some1 acting as if they own the company when they are not owning it), this would mean they are not purposely lying but saying it paste on what they know?

    [snip]

    Interesting.

I don't think I have ever received an email saying my recurring ESO Plus is going to expire and renew.

I do get emails after the fact saying that it has expired or has been renewed, though.
    [snip]

Personally, I don't think it's about transaction fees. I think it's related to fraud. I think this is just another phase in what is basically a 10 year battle against fraud. If so, this is clearly heating up to the point where, again, it's visible to the players.

This was obviously an intentional change, probably to save money.
I received an e-mail on 13th of May, informing me that my usual 180 days sub would expire upon completion at 17 june, due to, quote “ subscription renewal restrictions in your area”.

    Interesting.

No Zenimax doesnt want to pay the fees for VISA-Transactions and are now trying to force VISA-users to go to other forms of payment..

If this was related to fraud then all card that have been registered for ESO+ sub would have been removed from auto renewal of subscription as then it wouldn't make sense to withdraw founds from card that have been black listed as possible fraudulent card.

In the end this is now one month since first report of this issue where the first six digits of card number can be entered and then trigger a check where card will be denied access to continue with the rest of card information.

More and more players will be effected as time go on as this will prevent any changes in ESO+ sub (cancel and start a new period) and all purchases directly from ESO Store.

Can also confirm that me and my friend can not buy anything from the ESO store. We both have New Zealand cards. We were both really excited for this chapter and looking forward to doing the scribing, new quests, and getting that multi rider mount for my friend who doesn't have one yet.

I thankfully was able to get the chapter from Steam, but my friend didn't get ESO off of Steam and thus can't buy the chapter from there for his account.

Looks like ZoS have change how VISA works, now we have to pick between VISA, VISA Debit or VISA Electron when we pick VISA as payment option.

Same for MasterCard. I can see that they've changed to a different version of the hosted payment processing page from Worldline.

You know what the really sad part is RexyCat? They did this less than 2 days after I submitted several refund requests to my bank and to third-parties from whom I had purchased Elder Scrolls related products or tickets.

It took Zenimax 6 weeks to sort this. Any other company going 6 weeks without being able to process a large number of transactions would have been unthinkable, the loss of revenue too impactful. Zenimax on the other hand seem to have grown to the point where they no longer care about cutting off huge numbers of potential customers from paying.

After 6 weeks the things I wanted to buy from the crown store are back to their normal price, and my need for crowns has dissipated. My enthusiasm has also been eroded significantly. Why would I want to spend money on something where the company behind it has demonstrated so little consideration for their customers?

Just wanted to follow up as several folks have mentioned that this issue is resolved. We were waiting a few days after pushing the fix to make sure things did not break again before reporting. But we are confident that we have been able to resolve the tech issues with Worldline.
