[Infinite Archive] Purple Treasures don't stack

Pretty straightforward bug. I don't see why they shouldn't stack. Other Purple Treasures, like dragon loot and antiquities treasures, all stack.

and we can add it to the very, very long list of items in the game which should stack but don't.

Sure, it would make sense for them to stack, and the blue treasures do, but there is a merchant available after nearly every stage, so there’s no reason I can think of to let them build up to the point they clog your inventory. It’s not an item you need to hang onto until you can do something with, like surveys.

Lol, and that's a problem in and of itself. If Treasures just exist to be sold immediately, why do they even exist? It's annoying game clutter... but it could be so much more... but first, it'd be nice if these Treasures from IA stack. They are brand new drops from IA, so it's just a bug they introduced on release of IA. All other Treasures stack.

This is a topic of personal interest to me, if you'd care to discuss: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/617276/improve-the-usefulness-of-treasure

They exist as flavor — I’ve kept a few from events because they amuse me or seem particularly fitting for one of my characters. Of course I’d love if they were all furnishings or useable items (one is a spider silk parasol)!

I assumed that the treasures took the place of any loot the trash mobs would normally drop. I prefer this to having to stop and loot all these mobs.

I'm fairly certain you get IA Treasures from Muniment Chests after a Cycle, Arc, or Unknown puzzle. You also get Soul Gems, Gold, Archival Fortunes, IA Furnishings, and an AI Class Set piece.

I agree it's nice not having to loot mobs during each Stage. However, personally, I'd rather just get more common Purple Rubedite/Ruby Ash/Platinum items from Muniment Chests for deconstucting. ATM, instead of my inventory filling with deconstruct-able items, my inventory is filling with garbage treasures that I just sell for Gold. Treasures are just too pointless in ESO and have little value.

Alternatively, ZOS could make Treasures worth more then just gold to Merchants....

I’d rather have the 1500g treasures, even the 250g, that I can sell right away than lots of junk gear clogging my inventory to decon for less than 100g worth of materials each.

Are you selling your mats to NPC merchants?

Nooo, I rarely sell upgrade materials at all, and only ever on guild traders. However, deconning one blue item, for instance, will get you maybe a base material, a style or trait material, and a single blue upgrade material (turpen, dwarven oil, or hemming), right? I believe that’s significantly less than 100g (assuming base game styles and no nirnhoned), based on a quick look at TTC. I rarely buy materials either as I just harvest everything and decon lots, but like it’s probably more worthwhile to vendor a blue rubedite staff for 80g than to decon it, unless it might drop worthwhile style material.

I wasn't talking about blue quality decon.

Either way, I don't think its much to ask that the Purple Treasures from IA stack, which is the original point of this thread.

Fair enough. I missed that and was assuming blue gear since that’s most of what drops in the early arcs.

I guess I’m just puzzled as to why you are letting the treasures build up to the point they clog your inventory when there are merchants throughout the Archive. And then I am further puzzled why you say that you would rather have gear, which you must carry or bank to get maximum value from (unless you have a decon assistant I guess and all the relevant skill points and CP passive on that character).

I agree that it’s weird that the purple treasures don’t stack when the blues do, and no reason why they shouldn’t. I just wish to know why it’s a problem. Or if you’re just bothered by the inconsistency— which is fine too, I am certainly particular about plenty of things that don’t matter to most people!

It's not so much that they are clogging MY inventory and it is more that it's an inconsistency. These IA treasures are brand new and no other treasures in the game don't stack like this. IMO, it's just a bug and it should be fixed. IK this isn't super important, it's pretty minor, but it's worth mentioning IMO.

As stated by multiple people, Treasures are just thematic Gold. I do agree with this, even if I personally wish Treasures were more integrated into the game. I don't expect many people will let these Treasures live more then 20 minutes before being sold. Which is all the more reason to point this bug out since many players most likely experience this to a minimum.

I'd rather just not let ESO die by "death-by-a-thousand-paper-cuts". IMO, ESOs has a big development issue is that the minor bugs are all building up. The game doesn't feel adequately tested. There are hundreds of these minor things and they just make the game look trashy. They should be relatively easy to fix too; low hanging fruit. If devs would just take a minute and fix them...

Thank you for taking the time to explain! :) I agree it is a weird inconsistency that should be fixed.

I like the flavor text on many furnishings and wish that I could incorporate them into housing in some way, maybe as furnishings that can be “inspected” to view the flavor text.
