Guild Finder - Inconsistent Active Members Count

I was having a browse through the guild finder and I noticed something off.

The Active Members count that appears next to the listing while looking at the list, e.g.:
0ezmtdtopj8y.png

Is completely inconsistent with the amount you see when you actually open the listing, e.g.:

I looked at many guild listings and this is a consistent issue.

(Apologies for the annoying red bits; I did not want to share random guild listings without their permission.)

On a related note, I have had trouble in the past with attempting to join a guild through the guild finder but it being very inactive despite what the listing might indicate. It would be helpful if it was clarified somewhere, once the above is fixed, what actually constitutes an "active member."

Well that’s an annoying bug. Wonder how long it’s been like that.

How long has Guild Finder been in the game? Probably that long...

    I have no idea!

I only noticed it this time because of the last guild I gave as an example showing zero within the listing, but not on the list.
Very likely it's always been like this, yes.

If I was to take a guess, either:

    A. One of the numbers was updated more recently than the other or
    B. Different metrics are used to determine the two.

I suppose A is probably more likely. Either way, how odd... It seems like it would have been less work for them to have been the same in the first place?

I don't know, but I have a feeling that different people will look at different metrics, and the issue is that it's not specifying which metric is important at the time.

If I were a GM of a guild, I'd be interested in two numbers for activity: the number of players active at that particular second, and the average number of players active over the past week or so. If I'm running something right now, it wouldn't matter if there were 400+ people on this week if I can't find a partner now. But if I'm looking at how active the guild is, then the weekly activity is a much better metric than a specific point - if I check activity of a guild when everyone's away on vacation, it's probably say "0 online," even though that may not be a regular thing.

I wonder if one is a "this many are on right now" and the other is "this is the average activity over the past X days," but it doesn't specify which is which.

This would make sense, but just based on the examples I've given, this cannot be the case. In the first two guilds, the number on the list is smaller than the number within the listing, but in the third guild, the opposite is the case.
