We as a gaming community are often very quick to pour out our grievances and resentments, to complain to ZOS for their failures.

This time however I wanted to say thank you very much and I think on behalf of most of us that we really appreciate today's hotfix regarding magick and life steal. This is how the pace of the most important fixes should be. Great job ZOS team, keep it up!

Your gang! :)

Say no to Toxic Casuals!
I am doing my best, but I am not a native speaker, sorry.

"Difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including A Realm Reborn-tier overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver&Gold as a "you think you do but you don't"-tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game." - @AlexanderDeLarge

I've always wanted to be a clairvoyant. Good time to just give it a try.
Near future: Cyro will be nearly lag-free and nobody can complain about it.

Distant future (around 2 weeks): Another shutdown will be sheduled, or the server suddenly crashes and the lag will be back after that.

Let's see if I have talent for clairvoyance.

Some of the recent maintenance times were finished way before schedule, too.
Servers went back online earlier than expected.

I think it is a good gesture to point out the positive things, too, Mayrael!
No #whatabout can take the positivity away that Zenimax, also, deserves.

I think that anyone who hasn't been on the opposing end of this exploit would be looking at it very differently had they entered cyro for midyear and experienced it

I'm eternally bemused that server downtime for patches is referred to as 'hotfixes'.

Hot = powered on. Generally speaking, when you shut a computer off, whatever fixes you perform while its off are just fixes, not hotfixes.

This 'hotfix' apparently requires the servers to be shut down AND the window to be extended by two hours.

Think this is more of a FUBAR than a hotfix.

been more than 1 month and they still haven't fixed glitched/ bugs i have requested.

At this point i think this glitch's are features.

Meanwhile because of the manutence, i'll spend most of the day without being able to play. aka my free time.

I once waited over a year to fix one of my character's key abilities (Shadow Image), which was rendered nearly useless by a bug. I also played for months trying to deal with Necro Bash.

Therefore, such a quick response from ZOS is really a big and positive surprise for me. When I first saw this bug, I thought that we will have to deal with gamebreaking bug for months to come, but this time it's different and I think that they should be thanked for that. What is a few hours of extended maintenance compared to struggling for months with such a horrible bug?

Any community does, if you thought otherwise it's naiveté. It's called having a business.
Some communities are just less vocal than others because they don't have the time to..they are too busy playing and enjoying the performance of their game.

There was a big uproar on twitch and other platforms concerning 'one broken set' and they fixed it because it would have been a report nightmare during the MYM...could you please voice your complaints to a bigger matter at hand...the elephant in the room....Cyrodill.

Agree. I always understood "hotfix" to be an update while the server was still live. But maybe it's a commentary on the individual who is performing the update. Lol!

Meanwhile, deconstructing Reconstructed Mythic Items still don't refund the stones invested. Oh, fine, what else can I do if not accept another maintenance during morning times preventing me to play?

Actually, hotfix is a fix for a major issue that already went to the "live" environment, in this case the ESO live servers. It does not matter if the server is offline or online, but that it is applied to the live-version of the server. "Live" means something different than offline/online, "live" stands for the current in use user-version.

So "hotfix" is a term which means an immediate fix needs to be applied to the live server. The linked article even states that same thing.

Isn't that a coldfix? A hotfix doesn't require restarting the environment, whereas a coldfix does. Very common in MMOs
