PC/Mac Login/Connectivity/Access Issues - May 26 [Updated June 1]

    I wonder who would die if they pushed out new content say 3 times a year instead of 4? And used that extra time for more testing/fixing?

    I know not everything can be tested but the servers are a s*#$show every release for a reason, and my guess is that it's not because developers don't know what they are doing. They're probably cranking stuff out and don't have time to test. They find out the hard way like we do on release. And my guess is there are some very long hours being put in to fix things they should have had time to test for.

    I don't know. The frenetic push for new releases every quarter just seems bananas when it takes most of that quarter to fix all the things that should have been good on release.

    In fact, all companies, with just a few exceptions.

    You'd know and understand that if you had ever run one. But you haven't, have you ?

    And to further answer your question.

    Run one? Nope. Worked for one? Going on several years now.

    I've seen the business have to give out refunds to customers and it pushes them not to offer a repeat performance. I have literally seen them sit down, analyse the problem and work out a plan to fix it.

    This is the first time I've seen customers treated so poorly.

    It's all in your head. Noone is being treated poorly. This business about them not caring is nonsense. It's not an easy job finding which code is causing the issue. It's not like selling hamburgers and giving them a refund for it being cold. I guarantee they have discussions about issues and how to solve them. I have even had a few of my suggestions make it into the game so they do listen.

    Use this unforeseen gift of time to: talk to the strangers living with you, read, smell the fresh air or find alternative games to play or revisit old favorites. I'll be checking back in a day...then a few days....then a week. After 6 years playing this fiasco of a game I feel like this:

    PC NA 20 minute queue screen (Has new chapter)

    Housemate with 20 min screen (Has new chapter)

    Friend with 22 min screen (Does not have new chapter -different country)

    Two us downloaded the patch earlier with no troubles and one of us logged in and played with no trouble 8 hours ago.

    Update: the queue appears to have frozen for all concerned.

    There was also a queue message randomly being displayed in between 'the server is unavailable' messages last night, when I was ahem, spamming it to see when maint would be done. Can confirm two other friends also saw the queue message during maint.

    Why I can't shake the feeling that somehow someone forgot to implement the content accessibility check and currently there is a real person sitting in front of a terminal with a huge Execl sheet and cross referencing what a player has access to each time a new user log in. Hence the login queue.

    Genuinely curious: why cut them some slack? Surely, if remotely launching a Chapter was going to create this level of mess, they just shouldn't have launched it? Are we saying that the coronavirus situation is a new universal excuse for everything to be crap because, hey, I did from home? I don't know that my employer will go for that. I don't know that yours would either, because I'm not sure ANYONE would.

    My employer certainly wouldn't have, neither one of them. Of course, it's really hard to build a house from my house, or to fix someone's car. I'll bet it's really hard to flip burgers for McDonald's at home too.

    On the more serious side though, the first time I logged in today, I had 15 minute load screens trying to go into a dungeon, and then again leaving one. When I got in later the load screens had normalized. Possibly due to population control measures, hard to say w/out knowing what's going on behind the scenes.

    I was trying to log to the game from 23:00 hrs UTC. Now is 4:25 am UTC and no luck. Why counter at the screen is freeze at 42m 15s?

    They could at least give us more than a "thank you for your patience". I mean what choice do we have? xD

    Like someone else already postet. There was a small rollback in GW2 a week ago or so and people were given a free mount of choosing. The logical thing to do when the server's are offline this much (with every patch and problem) is to refund some game time on ESO+. Some "we-are-sorry-crowns" would also be nice. But what do we get? "Sry guys we are investigating, why dont you check out our ESO shop meanwhile" $$$.

    I'm pretty sure this post will be deleted because they dont want this kind of critisism.

    just as a lot of other people i was stuck on char load yesterday. Today i decided to try again, but now the game won't even start.
    The launcher starts just fine, i get the message of the server being taken down in a few hours, but when i start the game, nothing happens. It doesn't even show up in task manager.

    hope maintenace will fix this, fingers crossed!

    So, yesterday I couldn't play because there was a 5-6 hour maintenance to fix the bug that players could get to Grindmore although they did not have bought the chapter. Later that day there was another downtime.

    Not that I can finally play this game for an hour before the next maintenance and I can still get into Western Skyrim, additionally there is no mentioning of fixing it in the next hotfix. So can I assume this is working as intended and I won't get banned if I do some stuff there?

    I'm sorry, remind me, how many times has this game gone down for repairs since launch day? 'No one is being treated poorly', okay. We've been kept in the dark, unable to play a game we play for. Some of us last night, for the hours it was working, couldn't play because we had to sleep, so they've missed out on the chance to play what they paid for.

    They knew this was coming, they had a long time to prepare, Greymore was on PTS, and they could've worked on the launch behind the scenes and added more servers to help with the influx of excited players, they didn't. Instead, they've left several players angry and disappointed, and quite frankly feeling ripped off.

    Remind me again how no one's being treated poorly?

    @Turelus had a problem like that and reset the graphics settings to default and then re-customized them.

    Thanks for your response @Elsonso. I tried it but I didn't think it would work. Mine doesn't crash, I just get error 200 after entering my password. I got it on the PTS last week but, now they've put Greymoor on the Live server, I'm getting it there, too.

    I thought I read that the NA server maintenance would fix the locked content for greymoor like it had oil the EU server. I can access greymoor on the EU server, but still says locked content on the NA server

    We just updated the first post of this thread with the latest status of the four issues we were investigating yesterday. We are also still investigating the reports that some players are still getting hung up on the character select screen.

    I read the first post update and as far as my issue of not being able to access greymoor goes I am not sure if I am included in your investigations.....

    "Some players who purchased the Greymoor Chapter are unable to access the Western Skyrim and Blackreach zones. [Update: Work on this issue is in progress with a partial resolution complete and ongoing investigation into some Steam players still not having access.]"

    I am not a Steam player, I am an ESO+ member. It works on the EU server fine but does not work on the NA server. I can see Greymoor marked as "Purchased" on both EU and NA servers.

    The post by ZOS_JessicaFolsom yesterday said .....

    "We have completed the the grant for players on the PC-EU server who purchased the Greymoor Chapter but were unable to access the content/zone. We will be performing this grant for players on PC-NA tomorrow morning."

    This appeared to look like my problem would be included, especially as the EU server works for me.

    But after the NA server was patched there was no change for me. And reading your post on the head of this discussion - am I still in a category here that you are still implementing a fix for?

    Still no Skyrim access for me on PC-NA. I just checked all my emails and it looks like I never got a purchase confirmation, although I do have Paypal receipt.

    Maybe the problem occurred at that point?

    You might want to open a ticket, if you have not, as you might be an "edge case".
