is this your first MMO? I've never played a game where you can fire of attacks or abilities without a line of sight being established.

Just ignore them until they are ready for a legitimate fight. They more than likely have better mobility than you and chasing them and landing the occasional attack is just making them stronger (zos logic).

People use los in multiple pvp games especially fps, I don’t know why so many people act like it’s a big deal. In any game things like this separate skill levels between players.

They should just put doors back on the towers. It was a bad idea to remove them in the first place. It just promotes all kinds of annoying situations.

I always thought there should be a "dizzy" debuff so if you run in a circle more than a few times you'd get a snare or fall down or something. :D

Firstly thanks for the compliments for those that gave them.

For me at this stage in the game it's kind of irrelevant about whether a fight is won or lost and much more about how it is won or lost. I'd rather have a good battle but lose then just push over everything and face no challenges (ofc i'd rather win that challenge than lose it). That doesn't mean that running in to wipe somewhere is good gameplay nor means 'it was a challenge because you died' either.

Sometimes it's important to be able to farm a tower or top floor for 30m because based on who shows up it can make the fight varied and interesting however its quite common for us to stop farming top floors to actually add extra challenge to the situation for us. For example to try and take the keep from inside / taking the resource flag with pressure on us to change the fight up from doing the same thing.

As for the side aggression. I don't require anyone to enjoy our playstyle other than us as a guild. If we halved our recent group size we would be a much smaller group than in your recent videos @Irylia I thought you always said anything above 4 was a zerg ;)
Also as you know (because you have the videos of us fighting on your channel) we did 8v8 gvg a couple of times and did fairly well.
As for 'fishing for vd procs' we are a magicka raid. If you think there is something more effective for magicka DD when you are facing 4x your numbers including organised enemy groups not just pugs and low cp players feel free to run it. Additionally the result would be the same without VD in most situations because its not actually VD which secures the most of our kills. (You can see this because stam raids work fine without VD and are actually probs better this patch especially vs pugs)

We play (as a guild raid) 3 days per week for 3.5h during primetime, on vivec. This is when other guilds and large groups are running and its our aim to fight them. I think people playing at other times or in low pop / low cp servers know the challenges they face (athough many have surprised me by being completely unaware recently).

Finally if people still think players in 12-16m raids only use 2 abilities its just funny at this point. Its the same as the players who comment about our videos despite clearly never having watched them based on what they are saying. XD

I feel like this community is inherently insecure and constantly over-compensating through its obsession with superficial details like numbers. We all know 30 uncoordinated poorly geared players who don't play the game well can be less effective than 5 skilled players in optimal gear. Let's stop pretending that fighting outnumbered, by itself, is meaningful.

The small group tower routine is just a microcosm of the large group keep routine. Neither playstyle has poop that smells less bad than the other.

Tests of skill and bragging rights should come from controlled GvGs and duels. Open world PVP is a big, laggy mess of a public server useful for entertainment purposes only.

@Miriel - just see the situation upside down. vet players should man up and play on the competitive campaign during off hours when it's not laggy instead of constantly seeking fights on Sotha and Shor where most new players will go first.

Whats the difference between 1 player farming half a dozen average players and Drac farming 40 average players?

Personally, I don't think 1 player should be able to kill 6 players if those 6 players are constantly engaging him,.

Pretty much in any game I have played there have been good players and a lot of not so good players. ESO does seem to magnify the difference.

So, yea, One good player can easily kill 6 bad players unless they get lucky. They will learn.

I agree with this. It is refreshing. You used to go takes keeps or resources on back lines where it would be only pugs to farm and claim you played the map but now i know where there is a DC/AD contested keep it's only a matter of time before you guys show up if your running. That's as hard as it gets fighting 2 factions.

Tower huggers do take advantage of the messed up way LOS works in this game, but we all have to each learn the hard lesson of never chase an enemy to the ground of their choosing. I still give into the temptation of chasing them on occasion, but my favorite thing is to do it on my healer and see how long I can keep the noobs alive. I like to imagine the annoyance of the farmer when I purge the Dawnbreaker DoT and heal up his intended victim AGAIN.

So we might not have doors on towers anymore, but instead people enjoy the run around in Towers, technically abusing the LoS mechanic to not get hit, build ulti and dump... rince repeat...

What makes me sad is, that many of the player doing this is good players and when talking to them, their excuse is, its only viable to survive big groups, and thats not true, couse if you run into a bigger group with better players you still die, since they do the same... So technically this is just a way for the " good " players to prey on new players that might not understnad the LoS mechanics, and why ?

When PvP is in the bad shape it is, we can barely fill up ONE server, and you pick on the new, the people we should help get better ?, instead some of you take hours upon hours to do the same boring thing, run around in tower, abusing a LoS Mechanic... and if you face people that can fight you, you just try to run away, wich mostly just ends with you all getting picked off one by one, and if new players try to ask you, you usually just reply "git good"...

How about you guys git good and help pvp, help the new players... instead of being bottom feeders couse honestly, all you so called aces, pros and good players in small groups that pick on new, your just vultures in my opinion that avoid the better players !

Some teams are set in their way and run the same group and builds from 20 patches ago (and that's their choice, no judgement here), but there are others that adapt with the game, take on new players and teach them the mechanics and how to excel. If you're a new player or someone who wants to learn there are groups out there that will help you. We're not all bad guys!

Sure, tower-farming unorganized/ungrouped players for AP isn't the most heroic thing to do. It's basically having fun at the expense of someone else.

But at the same time, if a group is vastly outnumbered, while trying to take a keep, it's understandable they use buildings and large objects for cover.

I hope this isn't a nerf "line of sight thread" though. That would be the epitome of nerf ridiculousness.

It's basic common sense to LoS in PvP. Vast majority of players will use line of sight automatically, first time they ever ever set foot in Cyrodiil. They will do it instinctively, regardless if bad or good skill-wise. Because it's exactly what you would do in any game(or real life), if someone was shooting at you.
