Ive had the opposite experience. no lag, 40-60fps 100-150 ping.
why?
because as soon as the game feels "off" in terms of performance, I port to one of the servers ZOS proactively and graciously opened for inevitable overflow.
Sometimes i bounce between campaigns 5 times in one evening to maintain an extremely positive experience ive had thus far with this event which has now become a standard to the industry.
you can change your guest campaign for free. leave cyro > change guest > port to new campaign > avoid pop locked servers > avoid bad performance > profit.

I have a brand new reg, 3 month old. (Maybe not that new)
Which means, either us players are running the exact same rig / internet set up which is causing the disconnects on our end.
Or the servers cannot handle the population in one area and needs to kick people in order to stabilize.
I'm not a IT guy or anything but someone needs to upgrade and it ain't us.

bro most people here either want to be friendly till death with zos and comfort every single developer to the point that they will support them by insulting other forum members. It disgusts me. Also those kind of posts never get any attention cause of the point i stated at first.Everyone knows the problem but they avoid to confront it and support the complaints untill people are long gone and problems are gone along with the players.
You're not alone, I have the same problems at Vivec, PC EU.
For event time my PVP Guild decided to switch campaing to new 7 days CP, and I think it was proper decision. I've spent there almost 3 hours in prime time, game was rather fluent
lol, I started this text (above) some few days ago and did not post it (even forgot, why)
now appeared on my screen as I've opened thread... so I'll finish this.
No idea why you're still trying to log to laggy campaign. not much fun - 20-30 (or more) mins of que and 2 mins of plaing (just traveling from base to keep via transit shrine then at horse to outpost and BOOM: freeze followed by logout)
so I'm only atm at Kastav, D'Albei or Kyne
I've heard that one of other popular MMO's improved PvP performance by "removing opponents details from data sending to client". Imho it is excellent solution, as for me doesn't really matter, if sorc who is killing me has pink pants more pinky than pink boots and green armcops more khaki than olive green helmet. Does not matter at all, if he/she has necromancer or morag tong tattoo and what color are her/his eyes. What is important, that i'm not lagged by details about "fifty shades of grey" used by this sorc zergmates running right behind him/her and can use at least once Vigor and rolldodge before reading Death Recap screen.
@ZOS_GinaBruno -do you think it will be possible someday that we (players with not most powerful pc's/consoles and cheap net providers) will be gifted with some more video settings options to improve performance? not only "water reflections on/off" but also something like "players costume textures details visibility" slider bar?
I can even see my opponents like ghosts in Tanzevil, all the same semi-transparent contours with almost no details, for sake of game performance

No one defends Cyrodiil performance, bud. Not even people who defend ZOS, which is me quite often.
Frankly I just think there's a fundamental flaw in the concept of having so many things going on at once that the lag CAN'T be fixed.
Calculating CP bonuses, gear bonuses, skills, buffs, debuffs for 100 people onscreen not mention everyone off screen is going to slow performance.
last few days has been unplayable for me- since the orsinium event specifically. getting rubberbanded around keeps- missing ticks, disconnecting every time theres an engagement- at this point they wont fix anything. realy just frustration venting now- nothing gets better performance wise in this game.

IT/Dev to CEO: Um, sir/ma'am, we've been promising the PvP community a marked upgrade in server performance since shortly after launch 4 and a half years ago. The team felt the need to bring this before you..."
Ceo, "How's the crown store doing?"
IT/Dev, "Uh....very, very well at last report."
CEO, "Thank you. You may go now."
IT/Dev, "But..."
CEO never looks up.

i know this post will recieve a lot of hate and negative comments but i wanna share my honest opinion about cyrodill server performance. This is because i can see that people keep having problems but most of the players, either have just accepted the server's struggle to stay alive , or either they dont want to admit that server's performance is poor only because they dont want to promote any more negativity towards the developers.
All that are said below concern EU VIVEC server. Its the most populated server and the one that most people play. If u are about to comment that i should try another server (like non cp or the 7day campaigns) i will answer that i dont want to play alone or with 10 other people at 90% of the time. People play Vivec cause of the large battles and the excitement of rushing to capture keeps and taking part in big sieges and thats what im after.

well, all this time i encounter the same issues on prime time on fridays-weekends, this isnt something new for me. Thing is no one complained before this. I myself had made once a post like this, got absolutely no attention like it was my fault and dont misunderstand me please but same thing happened to other posts too.
Even so in today's eso live nothing was said about cyrodill's performance. everything works perfectly. another reassurement for my sub cancelation

They don’t care. Plain and simple. Their communication is terrible and their interest in PVP is next to nothing. Don’t expect anything from them unless it has to do with the crown store or some other money-making scheme.

yea i was against this kind of thinking at first ,whenever i saw people saying that kind of stuff, but its clear now that this is the case. I mean today's cyrodill's discussion in ESO live was "eeerh we got the teleport stones ,the NEW costume which looks fantastic on your player that u can find in crown store, eerrh some changes in resources and uuhhm oh yea battlegrounds."
no wonder player count only in steam numbers has droped 5k

It gives me no pleasure in saying it. I love this game and the uniqueness of PvP makes it a lot of fun, but I’ve never seen a company so completely distance itself from its own product and community on an issue like this. I honestly believe they are way in over their head on the performance issues and have no idea how to resolve, cheaply.
