No CP has made it more and more evident, encase needs the bombard treatment.

    Encase is a good, strong skill that has a high cost and does either no or pitiful damage. It has range, but it's quite narrow and, contrary to the ESO philosophy that AoE's can't be dodged/avoided, this one can be.

    It is a single nerf away from going into the "another skill ZoS has nerfed into uselessness" category.

    What I find mostly at issue is that I am forced to be a vampire as a magicka build as my only realistic option for dealing with mobility restricting abilities used by other players.

    Because in ZOS eyes the only magicka builds outside of magblade that should. Be able to not die to root spam is vampire builds. Honestly ZOS just needs to set roll dodge and break free to the ice staff as well. But ZOS is comfortable with vampire and pots being magicka's only source for being able to survive root spam.

    Honestly if ZOS made CC break, block, and roll dodge it's own resource bar all together. Root spam would not even be a issue to anyone. But very few actually cares about balance. So instead lets nerf magicka even more while buffing stamina even more for small scale. Because that's balance right guys? :lol::trollface:

    I'm with the nerf, so sick of root spam cheese in this game it isn't funny.

    If you nerf this, something also needs to be done about ice reach as well.

    Spammable roots just shouldn't be a thing.

    No cp has certainly shown that people just cannot play this game without cp.

Because an 8 k shield is f ing useless. Died because of baddies on the forum. Too much qq too little pew pew. 16 AD 2 DC. 0 EP cause they bad, CP 2300 plus 18 level 50 toons. NA, PC, Grey Host#SORCLIVESMATTER actually they don’t or they wouldn’t keep getting nerfed constantly.

    They can if they get used to it first. Most people in Cyrodiil this week have not pvped without cp in a long time, if ever.

    Well roots are not sucha bif issue for ranged classes as you can still attack your target where ever he is but melee skills like sweeps, jabs or flurry are useless. Magica has no way to gain immunity to snares and roots while being able to attack. Stamina has just one. Eventhough it makes no survivability problems, it ends with endless fights that leave no windows to presure root spamer while playing melee. Root immunity shouldnt be as long as cc immunity but something like 2s windows would be realy nice, so root spamer would have to at least think a bit does he need to root this guy right after fight starts or save it for the high presure moments. Now it looks like: root, spam all you got, someone moves? Root him and countinue to spam. He uses mist form? Wait till it ends and root again. He uses cleanse? Root him! Root is way cheaper than cleanse.

    In the past when zos have wanted to stop players from spamming stuff they gave it an exponential cost increase. So should roots and maybe snares too get the streak/dodge roll treatment? Seems less harsh than adding a root immunity which would hurt immobile classes. And I don't think encase can really be nerfed, although maybe a range nerf would be possible.

    I do agree that there is a problem with roots in the game in general. I'm getting perma locked down in Cyro in the present no CP environment, and I'm not even sure why things are so different for me because I had very few points into the CP to reduce CC times. There must have been another metric changed to result in this...perhaps an unintentional one?

    While encase spam inside a negate is a very strong way to break apart zergs that are clumped up, I do agree that it is a very broken mechanic. An easy fix for root spam would be to make the dodge roll cool down debuff, also give a person immunity to roots for it's duration. Skills that apply more effects that just immobilize can be modified to apply their secondary effects unconditionally, e.g. talons can apply the DoT or minor maim to their targets regardless if the root gets applied. Fossilize would need to be changed to bypass this mechanic of course. The benefit of this change would largely be for magicka builds who are punished if they get rooted over and over by talons or encase spam inside a negate.

    The one thing I don't understand is why encase got a cost reduction. Ppl say well slot purge and Rapids and have a healer and so forth. Um hello you do know do that there are a lot of us that play small scale that don't have friends online that are healers or stam users or magicka users. You always can't have what you want.

    Now what I would like to see is an internal CD on all CC's of let's say 6 or 8 seconds. That would prevent the spam or increase the cost of them after each use like what happened to streak.

    On a sorc tank, I've found Encase invaluable in stopping/delaying destro ult users. There is a lot of counter play to root spam, but people just don't want to have to do it.

    Root is a pain but let's face the facts there are some builds out there that if you don't keep them rooted you will never kill them. Everyone has seen the videos and played against the people that are constantly running around stuff to los people. If you don't lock those players down they will never die. Getting rid of a spammable root is getting rid of one of the few counters to that play style.
