Am farm the crap out of the VMA next week at least 7-10 runs a day am planning. If I don't get 1 sharpened DW or 2h even a bow am done with ESO but that would be to much of BIS RNG. Doing it 7 timed a day that's 196 weapons if none of those weapons doesn't drop anything useful than I don't understand what I need to do.

I've just finished grinding and kitting out a redguard stampler that has 4K buffed weapon damage so I'm going to give it a go tonight. Ive got two sets that ill need to swap out and experiment with though. Viper and hubdings for dam and crit, and blackrose and viper for tankiness and sustain. I think the latter will probs be best. Wish me luck!
I'd suggest Viper and Hunding since you're going to want to make use of that 4k weapon damage to kill rather than survive. I'd also suggest vigor, cleansing ritual and bloodcraze for your healing so you survive better.
Don't crush my hope.I have to believe I'll get something good or I'll just only play BF1 and 7 days to die for now on.LegendaryArcher wrote: »Am farm the crap out of the VMA next week at least 7-10 runs a day am planning. If I don't get 1 sharpened DW or 2h even a bow am done with ESO but that would be to much of BIS RNG. @Jaronking Sorry to disappoint you, but 196 weapons aren't likely to give you what you want. If you're planning to farm that much, better approach it in a realistic way, or spare yourself the trouble of disappointment. A bunch of people ran it 1000+ times with leaderboard rewards and never got their Sharpened Inferno or Dagger. 200 weapons is veeery small compared to that. I myself ran it 300 times + leaderboard rewards and don't have a single useful weapon that is better than any crafted non-set alternative. Those who have them nowadays got them before DB. Back then 60 runs were enough to have every possible weapon in both Sharpened and Precise.

If I could, I'd give you my six sharpened 2-handers that are sitting there collecting dust for just one sharpened inferno.

i enocurage you to get in there and try again. There quite literally is only 1 single mechanic in the whole arena that has ZERO counterplay, and thats the shrooms appearing under the shield in stage 7 boss fight. Everything else can be managed and strategized. If you're lacking specifically dps then whats stopping you from spamming that power sigil?
There are a lot of legitimate reasons here why ppl have stopped pursuing, most ppl here refer to the RNG, which i completely agree with. vMA is rewarding not in the loot sense, but its way better than that, it literally makes you the absolute best possible version of yourself as an ESO player.
Dont think i can say this any nicer, but of all the comments and arguments, only yours seem like a simple lack of motivation and effort. It really is not hard at all, just takes time. Just because the mechanics are challenging to manage with, it does not mean they're bad design and BS.
I think many people have a hard time understanding that some players just don't care about the weapons enough or they hate the mechanics enough that they just don't have an urge to complete maelstrom. Honestly vma is one of those love hate things for me. I love the feeling I had after completing it and hate the rng. It felt like a chore farming it and for me it really made me realize how much it removed me from the social aspects of the game I enjoyed.Doctordarkspawn wrote: »@Doctordarkspawn

I stopped playing because I disagreed with the design and have little motivation to continue, given I dont main DPS and dont care to. No I will not try again. No I dont care to subject myself to mechanics like the shrooms on arena 7, just like I dont care to subject myself to Cradle of Shadows Vet. It's not a fun experience so I dont queue for it.
Like many others in this thread, I simply have no interest. If Maelstrom was engaging beyond DPS check mechanics and pitfalls, maybe I would try again, but it's not, at least in my opinion, so I wont. This is a game where the variety of alternatives is staggering, and I doubt best in slot gear will be -needed- once ZOS get's it's head out of it's behind and fixes some scaling issues for group content.
Not to mention the fact the weapons are useless for my main and one of those things that they just -need- to buff or rework. But even then, that'd require giving tanks a reason and means to run it, and I guarentee that wont happen.
@CultOfMMO Telling me to play it over and over again to enjoy it, is like telling me I just have not played enough Dark Souls to enjoy it. It's not worth my time and energy. It's not worth the frustration. I dont play games to -work- at having fun. And I will continue to call mechanics like the shrooms, like the DPS check nature of the arena, what I think it is. Poorly designed, DPS/Hardcore pandering, trash that needs to be scrapped. You are free to disagree, but it's simply not the sort of content I'm interested in.

I'll run it a few times next week, but I will never get caught up in that weird addictive grind for gear that in the end isn't worth hating the game over.
So good for you if you truly don't care about getting a completion or the weapons, but it may be in your best interest to not assume things or overgeneralize about content that you have never done yourself. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it's true. It just makes you sound moreso irritated that you can't complete it or that you're not willing to put any effort in to complete it.

Really? Why giving people false hope? 2x the cancer it is now doesn't make it better in the slightest.
People run it 300, 400, 500+ times and don't get a single usable weapon. If you want that one weapon in Sharpened, you're looking at 1000+ runs. All this event is doing is turning 1000+ into 500+. And no one will run it 500 times in 2 weeks. And even then you're likely to not get that one weapon you want.

So the solution is to never run vMA at all?
This isn't false hope. Double rewards during an event is not false hope. We have a fantastic opportunity here where our chances of getting what we want have literally been doubled.
They are still low ofc, but doubled nonetheless. And people who say they ran vMA 1000 times are lying to you. Did you know I killed Molag Kena 4,275 times exactly and still no Light armor helms dropped for me? (-_-) *hint hint
Instead of being that doom & gloom guy that everyone steers clear from to avoid getting depressed, maybe you could focus on hekping people who struggle to beat vMA get through it during a time where they can potentially fit in 15 runs and earn the rewards of 30 runs.

No, those people aren't lying. I've been there, was farming with them. I was there when Almost Heroes, the guild that dominated all PC EU leaderboard for a very long time fell apart because slowly but surely, groups started splitting in people with vMA weapons and those without.
We have a guild in Black Desert with over 30 players that quit ESO solely because of not getting their vMA weapons after hundreds of runs (almost 50 ex-ESO players overall that quit for various reasons). Some of them didn't get a single Inferno after 1000+ runs. And I've seen them run vMA in ESO 5+ times a day for months. People who have been leading the leaderboards for months. Overall, I know 7 people that didn't get their Inferno after 1000+ runs, but the other 3 didn't want to come with us to BDO.
Telling people that had to withdraw from being competitive for over half a year to farm vMA on a daily basis to become competitive again with no result that they're lying is extremely disrespectful. And yes, telling people "Go get your weapon!" in the current condition is setting them up for disappointment. Those who run Sharpened vMA weapons got them before DB.
Not sure how much you farmed for Kena, but I know someone who had to run vWGT 500+ times for a full divines SPC set ( @Sharmony , leader of Well Fitted). And no, he's not lying either, because I participated a lot in his runs and saw him in there every day, all day, for at least 2 months. However, the highest number I heard of to get the desired Kena helmet was somewhere between 40 and 50.
And if you're still skeptical, maybe @Sharmony can tell you about @Decado from his guild, who's still farming for a Sharpened Inferno Staff and is well beyond 1000 runs by now.
