ZOS, as a former game programmer I understand there are tons of bugs/features/content/etc. that requires attention. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, and the sleeping bag by the desk.
Due to that experience I usually don't criticize. But it's been two weeks. The group finder isn't a graphical defect or a botched audio player. It's an essential feature that's in practically every single MMO you'd care to name. In spite of a hot fix and a patch, it is still broken. DB should not have dropped with such a defect, and even if pressure was there to force DB out the door something like this should have been a priority one hot fix, or at the very least a hot roll-back to the previous code until a fix could be made. Players would rather have something that's buggy than something that simply doesn't work (or worse, gives the appearance it's working when it isn't).
10/10 post, couldn't have said it better myself.

He'd probably replace the whole thing with some kind of crazy corner

✭Well, it may not be just group finder that is the issue.
The other day I was in a group doing Wayrest Sewers, about 1/3 of the way through it suddenly BAM we all got ported to different dungeons into different groups but could still chat to each other (which was very odd... I got ported to Fungal Grotto, 1 player ended up in Banished Cells, and 2 others were in City of Ash, as I said we were all ported to differant groups even though we were in a active group in a dungeon ....

I actually got into a dungeon today after waiting about 5-10 mins in the finder. Haven't tested further yet, I could've only just hit a stroke of luck0

Well I'm getting dungeons now, which is a relief.
Its still messed up though, I'm getting it where its grouping up only 2-3 people, and another is missing. Try to find a replacement, and that does not work. Never works. I haven't seen it work for ages.
And then when you leave the group cause you know its broken, I have to wait 10-15 mins to bloody queue again.
ZOS fix this goddammit. This is important.0 -
Blevil✭✭✭well for the past couple of days groupfinder did work for me well at least to finish the daily random (ps4 NA). Although sometimes the dungeon scales only to group leader or you dont receive the xp bonus. Frustrating yes, but at least I know it works in getting my random daily. Oh btw it only works during the late late hours so for me its about 11pm Hawaii standard time. And seems to 90% of the time gets me fungal grotto.
I'm ok with that but I would still want it to be fixed so I can see the other dungeons and no long wait times which is one of the original problems. Btw the queue time for me is less than 5mins as DPS when it works.|--| /-\ \/\/ /-\ | | `"*-.,0 -
Chi110ut✭4 days I have tried the Group Finder Tool for over an hour each time and it never finds a group on EU PC.
I used to get groups on both my DPS and Tank in less than 5 mins before DB... After DB it was hit and miss, I would be queuing for hours and leave the que and immediately re-que and get a group. Now I don't even manage to get the daily done.0 -

✭✭✭Group Finder has not worked for me since release, although I must admit that I don't have the discipline to wait more 30 minutes. Even when paired with two others nothing happened in the same time frame. Tonight if we can find a 4th we'll give it the ole college try. This is unacceptable.
people should use more zonechat. i find a group there usually in max 15 - 20 minutes ,usually in around 10 minutes0 -

I have found, oddly, that as a dps i could find a group in under two mins (several times in a row) whereas post 5pm i queued as a dps for an hour and found nothing. Logic would say that it should be easier to group when more people are online after work. Apparently not0 -
Blevil✭✭✭i think for some odd reason group finder works when the least people are online. For me that would mean 11pm Hawaii Standard Time for PS4 NA. The queue is almost instant as a DPS. I'm finding groups pretty quickly myself now, withing 10-20 mins. On very RARE occasions will the queue last over an hour. This as a tank or healer.
Although, the other issue is finding replacements for dungeons if a group member leaves. It never works for me, and I mean never.0 -

I assume you haven't been here long, you will discover that ZOS don't care, they won't reply to genuine concerns because then they think they are conceeding there is an issue. Its much better if they just ignore it and hope people give up.

✭Two weeks and my Healer still can't get grouped.
Ahhh.. with that screenshot, now I see what group finder is. I thought it's the same as activity finder. I don't have the group above the dungeon finder on PS4. So, I just been queuing activity finder and then random dungeons. I usually get in with a group once a day or maybe twice if I'm lucky.
