What's this NB ability that one shots me everytime?

Hello, I am a full PVP vet8 sorc. I am a shield spammer and can hold my own against anyone but sometimes in larger battle with all my shield up (even barrier) I suddenly loose all my mana (and that's around 25k) and stamina take a few steps and die. Drinking a potion doesn't replenish nothing. On the kill log I usually see something like a couple of focused aim for 10k (or thereabouts depending on the NB). The damage I recieve covers my HP but not my HP and my shields, especially not with barrier on. Is there something I am missing? Is there a weapon enchant that can reduce my mana to 0 so suddenly? I am sure minor fracture can't hurt me that much.

First off, Focused Aim isn't a Nightblade ability. It's an ability found in the bow skill lines (Seriously people, read up the skill lines)

Anyway, to answer your question, you have just been a victim of server lag, where abilities do not register immediately and fire all at once sometime later. The moment where all your magicka + stamina is when you were actually, dead, but the server didn't send the message to the client telling you that you have died. Thus you can still walk around a bit before you eventually fall dead to the ground. Also, don't trust the death recap. That thing doesn't even register half the stuff that hits you most of the time.

Quoted for extra attention. Some people trust it blindly and call everyone hacker/macro user and sploiter when they see the death recap

Focused aim from stealth with ambush activated as soon as the projectile is in the air, timed so the ambush hits just before the arrow reaches you, then followed by incapacitating strike, can kill most players within a few seconds if they are not blocking.

It could be the camo then caltrops *** up that people accidentally do on purpose. It shows no damage taken but in reality you are taking behemoth damgage, so out of no where you lose all health and resources. I could be lag as a previous person noted, but I have friends that does the camo + caltrops *** up and they get massive kills. The emp (red) on ps4 Cilldrend took out a group of 30 to 40 low level noobs Last night by spamming this over and over at the inner wall breach. It's a sad day when this is the best the red emp can do..lol.. I had a 21k death just by camo alone. This needs to be fixed asap.

But if the player has a modicum of intelligence and uses Radiant Magelight he not only lives through this burst but has a chance of killing that Nightblade.

For the record, Wrecking Blow or Heavy Attack followed by Critical Rush Attack-weave-Execute will do the same thing and is available to any class.

This NB are op nonsense is dumb.

woah that sounds like alot of work and getting a bit too close. I prefer the one shot 25k snipes from 46m away xD less chance to die :P

This is the bread and butter.

Also added to the mix before they even start the attack is maybe a weapon crit/weapon damage/stamina tripot, Rally (if they have a Two-Hand bar),camo hunter, Grim focus and Might of the Guild (usually activate by Mage light to stay in stealth). That last one really makes a difference on the initial hit.

focused aim combined with tons of damage buffs (rally, relentless, mgiht of the guild for empower, high weapon damage sets, etc) and out-of-steah buffs (woodelf, kittycat, nightblade) will oneshot most current pvp builds (when fired form a competent nightblade). We're talking about 22-23k daage against 5 heavy armor pieces. victims can here the sound and block/dodge early enough or run radiant magelight.

Or they run a non-mainstream build with more HP and sacrifice some utility in other fights in order to be porcted against such gankers. it's very annoying and thus subject to changes. However, it's really not like they make the game unplayable. Getting shot off your horse is a bit ridiculous at times. Liekwise when no sound is played for a strange reason and you cannot react. Other than that, it's kinda alright to play against, I think.

i'm not 100% sure about the death recap. I think it's possible that your shields were covered as well but don't show there. As I said, really HUGE damage numbers are possible when fully buffed for it.

Looks like you got a desync bug just like the one shown below. It happens a lot when being attacked by bows for some reason.
