Need help! Trying to build competitive NB DW/Bow Build

So, I'm not even level 50 yet... However, I'm finding it tough to keep up with Dragon Knights at this point. Any advice of the sort would be more than stellar.

I've heard mixed opinions that revolve around the usage of 2H with the NB class. Mostly positive from PvP and alright with PvE.

Your best bet to pull this off would be to build a character that can take a pot and hit 100% crit for a few seconds and try to nuke someone 1v1. Groups will slaughter you.

Are you having trouble keeping up with DKs in PvP? If we are talking PvP then you need to start using fear for tanks that perma block. I mostly stay away from DK's now because they are almost always whip.talon spams now since whip is broken. I only engage them with my bow and try to keep my distance.

I'm trying to figure out which angle I could take for overall DPS in both PvP and PvE. Essentially, I want to find a way to build around either of them for the best possible play.

Are we talking single target DPS or Group DPS? FOr groups I would use Steel Tornado from Dual Wield. For single target I would use Ambush with Dark cloak and Surprise attack with a 2H weapon.

you can use as many 2h ablties as you like but Rally IS essential (especially in PvP) my NB uses 2H only on the buffbar while my main bar is DW with flyingblade beeing the only DW skill. NB have the luxuery that their class skills severely outshine weapon skills and only need some complementing abilities from them, such as a range option (flying blade) and weapondmg buff + heal (rally)

Do you have to have a two handed weapon equiped to get the bonus from Rally?

You'll need to have a two handed weapon equipped to cast Rally in the first place, but once casted, you can weapon swap to another weapon like dual wield and still enjoy the bonus from Rally. In fact, the only way to get maximum weapon damage of 4k+ is to cast rally, then weapon swap to Dual Wield.

Sweet! Also, does Weapon damage also scale into your Shadow and Assassination Skills? Such as, Ambush?
