I'm jealous of WOW's Mobile Armory

Because it has some amazing features that I feel would be an amazing benefit to ESO.

Back in October I started a tread about a mobile app and what features we would want HERE and @Heromofo has more recently mentioned it in one of his episodes HERE

WOW's Mobile Armory just looks wonderful:

Here's to hoping that these sorts of functions find their way to ESO sooner rather than later...

Yup I've been trying hard to promote both your page and mine with not a single reply from the mods.

Then something gave me hope that they may have one in the works now:
    @ZOS_AlanG
Sweet as Alan and i know i have ask you about the mobile forums like a mad hatter.
But it has been down for an insane amount of time lol unless you guys are making a phone app that includes it then all good.

We don't have any updates on the mobile forum theme at this time.

We're investigating our options with the current theme, or replacing it with a new one. However, at the moment both themes have problems that prevent them from being deployed. We're working with Vanilla Forums to get this resolved, but don't have an ETA at this time.

These things should be apart of it and i pulled it just because the way i do them lol.

☆ Elder Scrolls Online Phone App

One of the great things about Destiny for us console players is the beautiful app.
It combines the forums, news, alerts, your bank, 3d modeling and just so bloody much more. Heck i can show you how my run last night went and the scores the kd and my loot lol.

Anyway i know you guys must have one in the works. Probably just back logged with the rest i do remember you guys talking about it ages ago.

Here are some things to consider putting in with it.

    1. Combine the forums into the chat especially if you want console player feedback..
    2. Alerts like maintenance and ETA and if we have things like mail waiting for us.
    3. News feeds.
    4. 3d character modeling seeing a few games doing this now. But no one does it as well as destiny.
    5. Seeing character skill trees and a skill calculator also champion points and the rest.
    6. Crafting mate this would set you guys apart from the rest. Have it so we can access the crafting stations via phone and set up crafts and research while we are out and about.
    7. Reorganize your bags and banks while offline.
    8. While on your phone the server registers your online but when people see your name it has mobile app next to it. This would be useful if you open up guild chat and friends list to the mobile app. I would recommend working it much like facebook does for that part.

Anyway it would mean alot to know what ever happened with the phone app (back burner or side tracked?) and when will it be released.

I use the desktop version of the mobile forums.

And if they can't even get the mobile forums to work, what chance does the rest of it have?

ESO really does need a mobile app. It's a big AAA game that's sold millions of copies already, so there's no reason not to have one.

Honestly, not having one for console release just seems like a HUGE misstep to me. One of many I guess.

The Division been released in January 2016 app is so good that you can join into your friends games anywhere any time and play as a drone and targetting and marking enemies for them and going ahead as a scout into buildings.

Thats how it should be when it comes to mmo's :D@Gidorick

    Division
    Constant world RPG multiplayer
    Witcher graphics
Insane features like the one above
A post apocalyptic survial game with a sick leveling systsm

Or look at an mmo like archage
    -F2P
    -naval combat
    -unreal features
    Etc etc

Please have a look at this game zos as this is how next gen versions work.

But things like a phone app with great detail and abilities can go such a long way.
I know that some of things suggested by us are no longer possible and some just because of the engines limits but the smallest things can have huge impacts. :)

    Detailed 3D app
small life changes like usable furniture
    Updates like player housing
    Small scale pvp
    Etc etc

I've seen you make that comparison a few times now @Heromofo and I really think it's an unfair comparison. The Divison is NOT an MMO... it's an online persistent RPG. They haven't really said how many will be able to be in one map at once but I expect it to be kind of like GTA5: A handful of players.

Also, the Divison has a few years on ESO... ESO development started n 2007... The Divison likely started around 2011...2012. So it has a good 4 or 5 years on ESO in terms of technology.

My point is that yes, the division is a beautiful game, but comparing it to ESO really is comparing two different things that shouldn't be compared.

Yeah i guess i always wanted Elder Scrolls to be that way but it is late.
But i want to show them how their app works and how a detailed app from them can go a long way.

I agree with the spirit behind the comparison though. When ESO was developed it was developed with the technology of the day... they didn't really push the boundaries. ZOS didn't even TRY to develop new technology. Heck, they didn't even use the technology that was current in 2007 to make ESO!!!

I played Age of Conan (initially RELEASED in 2008) the other day and there were 3 things I noticed in the first 15 minutes of gameplay that just... well... it ticked me off.
    • Seamless underwater diving... ZOS should just copy Age of Conan. LITERALLY... Matt Firor should go over to Funcom, give them a bag of cash, and get the code libraries for their underwater gameplay and just plug it into ESO. Heck... even take the animations. Load up the ESO code... include the libraries and BOOM... underwater. (I know it's not that easy, I'm oversimplifying for effect )
    • Plant's Awareness. Plants had leaves that moved as I passed... It was such a simple, yet POWERFUL thing. It really made me feel like my character was there, in the world.
    • Clothes that were worn by the characters and weren't painted on or looked to be a part of the characters model. I felt like the clothes were ON the characters, not PART of the characters.
A game that came out one year after ESO began development... is 6 years older than ESO does these little details far better than ESO. It bugged me. :disappointed:

Actually, that would be a good compromise for console players. Can't text chat in game but if you have this app... you can chat on there.

Yeah i remember Conan i played it the only problem they had was been forced to release the game earlier than they wanted.
The first 20 levels you play it was the best mmo i have played then you started to notice the difference lol like everyone stopped talking of course now its alot better.

But one of the hardest things to get over for me is going back to Spray Painted Armor!. :D
I changed the post above abit as the little things will make such an impact to the game.

At some point @Heromofo, we need to just accept that ESO will never be any of these things. In the end... it'll just be a sub-generic MMO with an amazing Elder Scrolls skin and (in my opinion) a great story.

I don't think it will ever achieve the long-term epic success we believe it can be capable of. We believe it is capable because it's the Elder Scrolls but man, take that away and what do we have left... not much... not much.

    Haha yeah
Wow, Destiny IMO are doing it right

It would be a game changer for TESO and for those who want text chat in some form

The wow app supports text guild chat that pops on the app and in-game.
I'd support this 100% as I don't want stuff on my in-game screen but app only is a good option for peeps PC and console

It's a truth i am comming to see its why i cannot bring my self to create more Improving On ESO series.
Besides the Fallout series the Elder Scrolls games have always been my favorite games so its just hard to see.

Without the Elder Scrolls skins this game would the worse mmo yet.
But the worse part is with dedication they can right the wrongs here.
But like a mechanic working on their own car i believe alot of zos employees see their job as just a 9-5 job and are just waiting to go home.

But some jobs require a certain amount of dedication and if you dont love what you do it shows in your work.
Its also why you see more dedication and love in mods and in games like Witcher. Poor blokes loved their game so much and worked in some pretty insane conditions to get their baby made but it shows their love.

Lol Destiny app has more features than the game! :D

Never been a big phone person, as I am oldish and usually have the urge to slap the phones out of the hands of rude people that can't put the damn things down.

I really don't understand how any ingame issue is so important you need to use your phone RIGHT NOW to do it.
