Nobody fishes. So why not get rid of the bait items in plants and undead mobs?

I don't fish often, but I do delete bait quite often. I saw an addon that filters loot, and I've been meaning to try it to filter out bait. That being said, I wouldn't want fishing removed as it seems there are those who enjoy it.

The real issue is bait is mixed in with other loot. Perhaps the devs can address that instead of removing fishing.

Ah, but you're all forgetting, the whole point of something like the fishing bait is to fill your limited inventory with useless clutter so that you'll purchase more space and/or make more frequent trips back to town to clear it.

Working as intended - they won't change it.

Hi all here was my idea about fishing

-Currently Fishing I don't not find any reasons to fish. Then in that case why not include in the game GUILD OF FISHERMEN form of quests. Conditions are variable fisheries , fish such type of fish during the day , at such place at night time so why not with a ranking system the best fishermen will be awarded various awards.

Wait, why should they be better? It's not like fish is any harder to get than provisioning materials. If anything it's easier, since there are rapidly respawning nodes everywhere whereas finding v5 provisioning goods in containers is pure RNG.

I could see removing bait from plants only if they add some way to get worms from some sort of critter mob. You can get two of the baits from just killing critter spiders, rabbits, lizards and a bunch more. Insect parts are their own harvesting node.

I farm all baits from time to time except worms since they are only from plants. Need some worm critters then they can remove bait drops from plants and undead.

Just change it so if the primary components (flower) is removed, it despawns, not like you can walk by and say 'hey there is a worm or crawler under this patch of dirt'

I'd like to fish, but as already said: Inventory space is too precious to waste it for bait and fish trophys.

The worms and crawlers are the sole reason I won't use auto-loot. I don't want to have to search through my inventory for the useless bait items to destroy them.

I hate to fish in ESO.

I heard they are going to rework it or something.

They need to put bait in the same bag as trinkets, crafting materials and pets. It's own space.

Why don't you just add some fish recipes? Is it really that hard? Don't you think it is illogical that you can fish in this game but you can't cook the fish?

and why can't we kill birds? - we have arrows and spells and we can't shoot a litlle quail ,goose or duck

and by golly it be a challenge if you took the lock off aiming
the skill would be on timing and targeting to shoot one down

make it fun - I for one like to aim manually and NOT RELY on AUTO-TARGET

like we said before add more ingredients,recipes, potion combo's

I for one would like to see parts of animals used in potion making - tail,eyes,legs,gizzards,beaks,hearts,gallbladders,kidneys,liver etc

and lets go back to using multiple tools
we can chose to use 1,2,3 or 4 different tools in combo to make potions

ps: why no pearl hunting and no slaughterfish scales?

- what you want it fertilized to eat it?

I like fishing. It's relaxing and gives you a break from the routine.

The bait needed by class/type of water is fine, gives a touch of variety.

As always MMO's fishing got lot of ways to improve:
- Chances of fishing rings and bags of money, seems very real (but make it purples and plenty of money at low drop rate, so you have an objective).
- On non collectibles, don't make all other fishes worth the low same selling price, make a scale from less valuable throphy (high drop rate) to high valuable trophy (low drop rate), so if you take time, can use fishing to make useful money.
- You can put there fishable items that grant you unique quests that gives nice rewards and achievements.
- Make some common fishing zone on cities, per example, so people can join casually to fish common points of fishing, as an alternative to fishing guilds.
- Of course, there can be a kind of fishing contest.
- Fishing provisionings already enough said.
- Even you can make a fishing skill tree, with lot of possibilities

That's what i think by now. Excuse my bad english, but spanish people don't have forum here (yet, i hope)

I didn't read the thread but as the OP stated, I tried fishing out at 1st & then promptly forgot about it. Achievements aren't a big enough incentive to do it. What I would recommend is being able to cook what you catch into meaningful food. This would give us an alternative to crate & bag looting as a means to make food.

At the very least, make it meaningful.

I plan to fish and in the meantime do not find the worms in the plants to be more than the tiniest of nuisances. No need to remove them.

This would be effectively the same as eliminating fishing from the game entirely. Off the top of my head I believe that basic bait purchased from merchants costs 15 gold. When you fish there's a chance you'll get nothing of any value, a chance you'll get a fish worth 3 gold, and a very small chance you'll get nice loot. If the only way to get bait was to buy it from merchants, fishing would just be another word for hemorrhaging gold.
