This game is supposed to be about PvP, but the first big update is about PvE with leaderboards and rankings for time and teams?

Where is the Rankings and scores for team PvP. The Cyrodiil points for Emperor HARDLY counts.

So, because you don't like the leader board in place, it doesn't count? Those are the leader boards, and I see no reason to have more. You can see were you stand with others in your faction, your class, and overall for the campaign. What more do you need?

He wants to feel special while not helping in the war effort at all and for only being able to handle fair fights.

If i wanted to play zerg n siege i would play an RTS. I want to play Player vs player, Not Army Vs Army.

Also i NEVER help the war effort, because i couldn't give a sh*t about it. I tend to ignore zergs moving directions and never defend a keep. I run off and find 2v1s or 1v1s. So i can test my character against others.

You all might enjoy piggybacking on the back of your factions army and getting points for doing *** all, and watching a spectacle of hundreds of people zerging. But i do not consider that PVP.

Then here is a thought... the game is not for you. We've known for ages that the game was for mass pvp and no plans for smaller scale pvp were on the table. Basically a core design of the game you want changed because you don't like it. And before you say it, yes small scale pvp would take away from the mass pvp. Typically if I don't like a direction of the game, I don't complain, I just move on, because very rarely do the games actually change to what I want.

Why would i leave a game when i have enjoyed it this far. my character has over 16 days play time. Have almost 2million gold. This feature is something not only i want. But something MAJORITY of players want. So chances are you will be seeing this added to the game eventually. I made this post so that it is cataloged and ZoS will see this post.

They might not but it will add to the number of times the topic is mentioned and put it onto their radar and increases the chance of it being added. You are paying for a game and not wanting additional features. Are you against more features and options in your game? This post isn't for you. This is about pointing out what extra PVP features the game could use that would HELP the game and keep players that enjoy PVP outside of the Zergfest in the game.

please show me you evidence to what the majority of players want. Most wouldn't care at all. Even in WoW, most run Arenas and BG simply for gear. Without the gear, they'd never run them any noticeable amount.

You can get pvp outside the zerg fest, it just never ever going to be a pitched fight like an arena or BG.

One of the biggest selling points for pvp was that this game was not going to be tied into the small scale stuff and instead follow in the footsteps of DAoC, something the pvp crowd has wanted for ages.

Well untill your post, everyone was for at least some other option of PVP and even cited evidence that ZoS is planning to add other PVP options.

So whatever your thoughts and feelings are. More PVP options will be added.

There are features that get added that some people might not like. But we don't give a flying Monkey [snip] because more content and more options are always a good thing. Even if we don't like the option, it is there for the people that do like it. Something to think about and maybe stop being a selfish prick? I don't like PvE but hey i am happy they are adding craglorn.

People posting against small scale pvp just because they enjoy piggy backing on zergs for points thinking they are contributing to the fight, when in reality if they left no one would notice and the fight would probably still go the same way.

P.S when coming into this thread, please read the Opening Post. This is a thread for discussion about more options for PVP or new features that would be a nice addition to the PVP scene. Do not come in and spout rage because you are in love with the Cyrodiil zerging. Yes many people like Cyrodiil and many people hate it. Thats why we are discussing this.

There is a difference between having an arena and having an arena with leaderboards and rewards (which seem to be what people who want these things want). Tell me would you settle for no rewards, perhaps only a title for the best fighter during a very limited tournament? Look up the arena's in L2, almost entirely player run pretty much no system in place for doing arenas other than by word of mouth. That game was also based on mass pvp.

I'm fine with small scale stuff, as long it it doesn't take away from the main focus. Most that seem to want this small scale stuff want it to be like WoW, which would only take away from the main focus.

HAHAHAHAHA. Spoken like someone who has never did any type of organized mass pvp. After being parts of and witnessing smaller forces out playing and out lasting larger forces thanks to a combination of high skill, better organization, and better awareness, no small scale will ever match the effort, skill and dedication needed to do those things.

You can get pvp outside the zerg fest, it just never ever going to be a pitched fight like an arena or BG.

One of the biggest selling points for pvp was that this game was not going to be tied into the small scale stuff and instead follow in the footsteps of DAoC, something the pvp crowd has wanted for ages.

since ur bringing wow into it for what ever reason lol ppl dont just pvp for gear most people i know who play wow have all the gear and they try for rating im not sure if this is new to u but yea also theres no reason to bring wow into this it is a elderscrolls game and yes there was arena in a elderscrolls game so this would fit in perfectly so stop with ur obsession with wow please

Yet their most recent statement is no plans for any other pvp forms, not even dueling.

Also you need to realize that the forums a vast minority (and then an even smaller minority of those that actually post) and not accurate to what the majority really wants. It could want what I want, or it could want what you want. You cannot get a majority from the forums. You can only get trends from history. History points to the majority not caring either way.

    Please cite evidence.

I asked first, and no stating the forums is not evidence. As for mine, go look up the WoW armory, the vast majority barely touch the arena and BG after they get the gear for them.

HAHAHAHAHA. Spoken like someone who has never did any type of organized mass pvp. After being parts of and witnessing smaller forces out playing and out lasting larger forces thanks to a combination of high skill, better organization, and better awareness, no small scale will ever match the effort, skill and dedication needed to do those things.
considering we do organised raids with AqV and VGS aka the biggest teams on auriels bow for AD we have plenty mass pvp 6 groups + in TS

The best pvp available in the game is running quest hubs in Cyrodiil. But most tards are in a race to their VR10 crutch to join the rest of the zerg sheep.

They miss the best part of the game and quit soon after complaining about zerg pvp.

Played every day since the start of early access... have over 16 days play time on 1 character and 2million gold. I do not see myself quitting. Especially with the character i have.

I'd like them to add a friendly fire and collision campaign server. Make intelligent combat and tactics actually count and people think again. Really it's just been another passe, banal PvP experience, which is okay, But it's just going to get lost in the sands of time if something isn't done.

There are features that get added that some people might not like. But we don't give a flying Monkey Sh*t because more content and more options are always a good thing. Even if we don't like the option, it is there for the people that do like it. Something to think about and maybe stop being a selfish prick? I don't like PvE but hey i am happy they are adding craglorn.

See, you are making up facts right there, because I posted before Noth and was against small scale pvp. So, how are we to trust any of your 'facts" and "stats", when you get even get things right in this thread? Also, who is being selfish when the game was never advertised to have small scale warfronts or arenas, but instead a large persistent pvp zone? You want something and think everyone should agree with it, because you want it. I don't want arenas and warfronts, because then people want there to be special gear tied to these things. Then they want special stats one their special gear. Eventually the game becomes pve players and pvp players. Stop pushing your agenda as if it you know what is best for the game, do you have a degree in marketing or game development?

Who's this "we", whos this "everyone"? Where are you getting this "evidence" that "everyone" wants this? What ZOS said at the pre-launch AMA was:"No plans for dueling. Future PvP content (i.e. arenas, sport style pvp, more keeps to Cyrodill or different campaigns) will be dependent on player feedback."

Just as a side note, you're really overrating how much of a zergfest pvp has to be. With a group of 12 guildies we successfully blocked reinforcement lines and turned the tides of a keep battle that had been going on for 25 minutes. By using TS and being coordinated, it was actually pretty easy for us to mow down all of the enemies trying to get to the keep. I wouldn't consider 12 people to be a zerg.

I'm not opposed to an arena system (although I hate that it would really hurt the numbers in Cyrodiil) and I think the idea of a player specified area for 1v1's in Cyrodiil is awesome (I would be willing to get a guild to manage something like that started if people in this thread want to). I'm just saying that you're making the situation sound a lot worse than it is for the sake of getting your way. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, right?

I for one welcome some more pvp areas, not necessarily AvA. but an adventure zone, thats fully pvp enabled. I'd prolly never leave that zone, It's exciting to PvE quest in Cyrodil and I cant wait for the mysterious PvP dungeon.

If you don't want Zerg PvP, don't follow the zerg. During keep sieges, small scale pvp along the supply lines and reinforcement routes can be the difference between success or failure at the keep. There are also plenty of small groups just doing pve and searching for things in Cyrodil.
Already said in the Post i do try to find 1v1s and i avoid the big zergs in PVP. but every so often you get destroyed by a roaming zerg heading to another keep. Running back to find more 1v1s knowing you are going to inevitably get zerged is just annoying.

I should also mention i have over 300 kills from 1v1s. So i have spent a fair amount of time looking for 1v1s.

Umm..Every now and again, you're going to get zerged..suck it up and quit crying.

Arenas would not work because both teams would just stealth up and it would be the first to find the other and burst each player down. There would be nothing else to it. The fact that every class has "stealth" ruins the idea of XvX. If you cant see that then go play lack of skill WoW.

I would also like to see more rewards for investing all of my time in game focusing on PVP. WoW has their tiers of PVP gear and Arena gear.

No no no no no no no. No.

The game was advertised as not separating gear, YOU are the one in the wrong game, not everyone else.

I don't need a PVP crutch to be a good PVPer, be that in a zerg or skirmishing 5v5 on the enemies supply lines.
This feature is something not only i want. But something MAJORITY of players want.

Side note... i made another thread about how armor looks ugly a few weeks ago and that armor dyes should be added.

Arenas and BGs have ruined open world RvR in every game it has touched thus far :(

People will allways go for the easier and more efficient path over the enjoyable one.

I'm very much looking forward to the PvP "dungeon" though, i hope it will be in the style of DAoCs Darkness Falls where only the faction with the most keeps have access but you won't get kicked out when you lose it.
Then you can sneak around ganking people from the faction that holds it or make a last stand with the people you have left etc. :)

Having that would give incentives to take and hold keeps but it would also be a balancing factor as a bunch of people from the "dominating" faction would go to the dungeon, meaning they'd have less defenders.

I didn't read the entire wall of posts but I have a suggestion for the op. Zenimax implemented dozens of public dungeons in cyrodil and a huge map full of skyshards and questing areas.

If you don't like zerg pvp stay away from the keeps as one can't be taken with a zerg/raid, form a group of like minded people and look for people who are hunting skyshards and moving between keeps.

There's your options. If you want arena pvp like wow or 10-15 man capture the flag maps like rift you are playing the wrong game.
