Sick of ZergFest PVP

steven_shidiwenb16_ESO
If ESO is about options. Give me the option to enter a PVP mode that isn't full of zergs or vampires that siege keeps. I hated it in GW2 and i hate it again here.

I played PVP in every MMO and i am the type of PVPer that enjoys the thrill of killing an enemy by myself. Yes i can go around looking for 1v1s in Cyrodiil but this takes forever and most of the time you run into giant zergs and die and have to run all the way back to your spot to find 1v1s.

Make a small scale PVP option, hell even guild wars 2 had small scale PVP along side their WvWvW. I couldn't give two sh*ts about craglorn to be honest, its nice that we are getting it as it will keep me entertained untill hopefully some news about other PvP options are released. If you aren't going to give us 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5 pvp at least give me the ability to request duels or create an arena where people can pop into for duels (if people complain about people sending duel requests as the only complaint about duels). I am sure you could make some kind of instanced Arena where you go into and it puts you into a phase with other player for 1v1 PvP.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF TALOS!

Max target cap on aoe= Zerg if it's pvp or pve, just a bad choice. Strange that devs don't learn from other games. Daoc got it right though but that game is a tad old now :)

I think PVP is fine, but melee needs more survivability. Make the ranged work for their money.

+1 add arena cyridill will only last so long before people grow tired of doing the same thing over and over better to have more options than one i thaught eso was all about options i only see one for pvp cyridill no small scale pvp or anything cyridill isnt nothing but a laggy zerg running around winning in huge groups trust me i know we have 6 groups almost everyday and we take everything without effort we need skill based not player based this is only going to be fun for so long

If you want ZOS to implement a feature where you can run around a podium with one or 2 others, and heal yourself for 20 minutes then your at the wrong game friend.

-As far as the duel feature i never had an issue with that, and don't see why others would as well. I'm sure its something ZOS is looking into.

"fine" isn't what makes an MMO stand the test of time. If they are relying on that type of PVP to keep their players happy they are fu*ked. Zerg fest requires no skill, no player worth in large battles (unless you are an exploiter vamp) nearly no rewards. PvP sets suck and lack any reason to try and get them. where is the longevity in it?

I remember in Lotro there was a designated area in the PvP zone that was reserved for 1v1s. This was solely by community agreement, and was of course subject to griefing but surprisingly little on my server at least. It sounds to me like this would be a good chance for the pvp community to try to work something out like that as an interim solution.

This i would be happy with this, but a cross faction guild that was specifically used to set up 1v1 events in cyrodiil. even though it would be subject to griefing. It would be nice.

Looks like there will be a few more flavours of pvp:

"Justice system will involve players stealing/killing NPCs and incurring a bounty if they are caught. Guards will give you a chance to pay the bounty or kill you on sight if your bounty is too high. Players could also become guards."

"We have talked about different rulesets for campaigns as well as having a dungeon experience which has PvP enabled."

Hopefully we'll see even more pvp love as the game progresses.

Eliminate vet levels and fix travel time in Cyrodiil.

Cyrodiil should have wayshrines, just like the rest of Tamriel.

And 7,200... Drop this rip-off price tag on forward encampments to encourage people to fight for longer periods of time. And give it more than twenty spawns. Twenty is absurd.

Offer smaller arena. In fact, I did a quest for Ebonheart that was in an arena. They should let players fight in arenas. Big ones. Build a big coliseum to send people for 5v5, 4v4, etc.

And they should let players spar. Not being allowed to spar is also absurd.

I would also like to see more rewards for investing all of my time in game focusing on PVP. WoW has their tiers of PVP gear and Arena gear.

Other games have their versions of PvP gear with their unique styles and looks.
I would like to see the same rewards in ESO. PvP armor and PvE armor completely seperate. Just so we can have reasons to devote our time into each one. Why would i bother getting the PvP Dominion set, when it kind of sucks compared to my crafted sets or PvE stuff? Especially when i have upgraded them to Legendary VR10.

Just remove the target cap on aoe spells and most of the zerg problems are fixed. Also they promised smaller structured pvp. But when there is a cap on aoe spells people just run in zergs for protection.

A smaller structured/better skilled grp should be able to take out a larger force with codination like in daoc were zerg were sometimes wiped clean by smaller grps. Yes i know i've mentioned that game before but only because it was the birthplace of rvr and was still the best pvp mmo game made.

Removing the cap on aoe the zerg problem would sorta resolve itself. I mean it's simple math really. Would you rather split alliance points with lets say 5 other people taking out 20 enemy players or split it with 50 other players taking out 20 enemy players?

PvP is dead in this game. Only one faction dominates one map, one faction does not have enough population. Don't forget about the bat swarms, DK CC ability, and whatnot that ZOS hasn't fixed. Should have been a hotfix, but they chose to wait on it and patiently wait for the PvP to be dead.

It was only a matter of time people would start asking for this, and that is why most the players that say no do so. Now, you want special rewards for your arenas and pvp, why? That then separates the player base into pve and pvp. Pve players aren't going to want to come help the guild in Cyrodil, because they don't have any pvp gear. On the other side pvp players aren't going to be asked to come do a guild pve raid, because they only have pvp gear.

It was a very selling point for the game that they didn't have separate gear for pvp and pve. So, to add it now would do way more harm than good.

If they wan't to appeal to modern mmo market, they really don't have a choice. Even games back in 1999 had rewards for either side. I remember a game called Helbreath that rewarded you with armor for Killing 700 players from an enemy faction with "Hero Armor".

The bonus doesn't have to be stats. I wouldn't mind seeing cosmetic tiers for PvP i would happily PVP for hours if i got some badass sword cosmetic or armor cosmetics. Just something that i could physically see on my character for spending hours doing something repeatidly. Otherwise its basically just the same as jumping into a Lobby on Bf4 or CoD finishing a match then doing it again. Sorry but this format does not work in an MMO.

If you don't want Zerg PvP, don't follow the zerg. During keep sieges, small scale pvp along the supply lines and reinforcement routes can be the difference between success or failure at the keep. There are also plenty of small groups just doing pve and searching for things in Cyrodil.

Already said in the Post i do try to find 1v1s and i avoid the big zergs in PVP. but every so often you get destroyed by a roaming zerg heading to another keep. Running back to find more 1v1s knowing you are going to inevitably get zerged is just annoying.

I should also mention i have over 300 kills from 1v1s. So i have spent a fair amount of time looking for 1v1s.

Problem with the supply lines is that there is still a freaking bug about RESPAWNING to keeps that is out of supply lines but is not under attack. They should also hotfix this. I've reported this bug three weeks ago and I did not encounter any response, nor did I encounter any future mention of fix for this bug.

Cutting off supply lines is not relevant in this game anymore because of the respawning mechanic. Respawn to any keep = able to zergfest everywhere!!

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom just to give you a heads up.

This game is supposed to be about PvP, but the first big update is about PvE with leaderboards and rankings for time and teams?

Where is the Rankings and scores for team PvP. The Cyrodiil points for Emperor HARDLY counts.

So, because you don't like the leader board in place, it doesn't count? Those are the leader boards, and I see no reason to have more. You can see were you stand with others in your faction, your class, and overall for the campaign. What more do you need?

Because its a leaderboard for a zergfest. people who are at the top are the ones that are exploiting the vampire crap. Who destroy other zerg fests for points.

I want to see leaderboards for different types of PVP. I don't want to be clumped together with the other zergers when i don't even go into Cyrodiil to zerg. I go in to 1v1 and i would love to see a leaderboard for 1v1s or something smaller scale. That leaderboard only applies to the people who Zerg or abuse the vampire crap to get emperor.

If i wanted to play zerg n siege i would play an RTS. I want to play Player vs player, Not Army Vs Army.

Also i NEVER help the war effort, because i couldn't give a sh*t about it. I tend to ignore zergs moving directions and never defend a keep. I run off and find 2v1s or 1v1s. So i can test my character against others.

You all might enjoy piggybacking on the back of your factions army and getting points for doing *** all, and watching a spectacle of hundreds of people zerging. But i do not consider that PVP.

Then here is a thought... the game is not for you. We've known for ages that the game was for mass pvp and no plans for smaller scale pvp were on the table. Basically a core design of the game you want changed because you don't like it. And before you say it, yes small scale pvp would take away from the mass pvp. Typically if I don't like a direction of the game, I don't complain, I just move on, because very rarely do the games actually change to what I want.

Why would i leave a game when i have enjoyed it this far. my character has over 16 days play time. Have almost 2million gold. This feature is something not only i want. But something MAJORITY of players want. So chances are you will be seeing this added to the game eventually. I made this post so that it is cataloged and ZoS will see this post.

They might not but it will add to the number of times the topic is mentioned and put it onto their radar and increases the chance of it being added. You are paying for a game and not wanting additional features. Are you against more features and options in your game? This post isn't for you. This is about pointing out what extra PVP features the game could use that would HELP the game and keep players that enjoy PVP outside of the Zergfest in the game.
