Lol if anyone unsubscribes because of this they need to get a f'ing clue. Plenty of more serious problems other than 'inventory management' lol

    Absolutely not.
There are not a lot of things that could make me quit this game, to be honest. There are quite a few very minor things that bother me, but when I say "very minor" I mean really tiny, really insignificant things. What I am saying is that I am not cancelling my subscription anytime soon. Not because of the inventory management, not because of anything that I can think of.
Do I want to see some things added/changed? Sure.
Can I live without my pet pony guar, my black hair (for my Altmer) and more inventory space? Absolutely.
Edited by Abeille on 21 April 2014 02:21
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

it gets easier once you can afford some upgrades and stop hoarding everything you loot

I don't get why people would. You can have, what is it, a 100 slots in your bank and a 100 on each avatar?

this game has chosen inventory space as a "point of interest" or a special objective to obtain in this game. I find that different atleast and instead of some other object as an important investment ..inventory has become that instead. Nothing wrong with that. ...or is it because there is a ton of valuable loot? Either way space is a priority and I'm fine with that.

This is one...really weak poll. I've seen some really "out there" reasons to quit a game but this one, at this stage of the game takes the cake.

I actually pointed out in the other poll (do you think people will) that the results would look something like this if you asked 'will you cancel'. Tada, I was right.

Don't forget the carrying capacity of horses...if you buy the horse with 10 inventory slots already and put all your feedings to upgrade its carrying capacity that's an additional 60 slots. So...260 potential slots..seems like quite a bit. I also foresee them eventually increasing this number as the game evolves...I'd like to see veteran ranks for horses.

Already a pretty good amount of inventory slots you can have (on your character) with horse/bag upgrades.

The bank? yeah I would really like to be able to increase the slots in there past what's currently available, wouldn't care if it costs even more gold. Just because the bank is shared through all your characters, and you might want to store particular items just for them.

Not finding it an issue at all so far, but I could see some more space handy once we're at the point where we have multiple high level characters on our accounts.

Sure there are not enough inventory space if you're like me: Opening everything and gathering everything. It only means you need to have priorities.
There are far more annoying factor than that. Like a maintenance exactly at the time I want to play.

Using storage characters for different things has made me able to cope with all the materials - despite of saving everything but cooking ingredients. I have storage characters for alchemy, runes, basic materials and upgrade items +trait stones and racial crafting stuff. It sure is a bit of a hassle to move stuff from the bank to the characters but it is not that big of an issue for me.

Would you say there are more pressing issues (i.e. bugged quests, bugged skills in the Alchemy line such as Medicinal Use and Snakeblood, people still falling through the world, the apparent lack of usefulness of Aspect Extraction in the Enchanting skill line) that they should focus their resources on?

I voted no. This is a common problem is mmo's so not one specific to TESO. My solution is as follows:

    1. Create a few storage mules until you get to a stage where you can buy more space.
    2. Create at least six characters, one for each craft and grind the stuff away.
    3. Sell anything your not levelled up for yet or anything that's not going to give you much xp and use the money towards bank & backpack space.
    4. Get together with 9 other trusted friends and form a guild with a bank and share storage.
    5. Buy a horse and get some more storage.

It's not really a game breaking issue. You have alternatives that you just have to manage properly.

If the game only allowed two or three crafting professions per character the inventory problem wouldn't exist. Instead, the game gives the player the freedom to dabble in all professions, but supports only enough inventory for sustained interest in only a few professions at start. In other words, more freedom is resulting in more complaining, which shows the sad situation in which we find ourselves.

How is this even still an issue. Your bank space may have been limited on the pts and you didn't have enough time during the beta weekends to grind the gold to get it up there. But my bank is currently at 120 slots and have an option to buy another upgrade that I haven't saved the gold for. Has anyone actually maxed out their bank yet, or is it more whining without facts.

There are certainly some issues that definitely get higher priority than inventory management. Still don't make it very good though.

I'm vet 4 now. I prioritized buying bags - bank bags- then a pack horse. I have almost 125 slots and 110 in my bank. Inventory is never a problem, it just took a little time.

    PRO TIP: Don't keep everything.

Even if I prefer a different inventory style, it is still no reason to quit playing, in my opinion. I will eventually learn to live with the inventory as it is, I will have to adjust my play style to it, meaning I will eventually stop harvesting every node I come to, I will eventually stop searching all the barrels and crates. In the end it will take a little something away from the game for me, as those two things are a couple of my favorite Elder Scrolls pass times.

Most certainly not. I'm perfectly capable of managing my own inventory. Yes, I carry A LOT of stuff. But I simply deconstruct what I don't need, or vendor it. I don't pick up every single low level provisioning mat now as it isn't needed. Bag space constraints are typical of TES games, and in fact just about any other MMO where you don't have the mullah to spend on big bags. I haven't even made a pure "mule" alt yet. Though I might eventually if my alts fall behind.

Most of my (minor) inventory issues come from hoarding provisioning supplies. Which, to be honest, I should only be hoarding 4-5 ingredients for leveling. . . . (but OH LOOK NEW BERRIES). :stuck_out_tongue:
    Currently Playing:
Sorcerer Claudia Warren May, lvl 40. Woodworking 25/Clothing 25/Provisioning 50.
    Dragon Knight, lvl 8. Blacksmithing/Enchanting.
    Nightblade, lvl 3. Alchemy.
    Templar, lvl 7.
