Hey, how can I find out about joining The Noore? I see you all on a lot and it seems Noore is really the only serious pvp guild Dominion side on Skull Crusher. My main is a Nightblade 'Crevan Voss', and I'm a pretty committed pvp'er. Thanks.

but are you a vampire? :pensive:

Yes, good job on face rolling with 40+ VR half of which are vampires, a half bar DC with full bar EP smacking us as well, also at a time of the week where some of the guilds were simply not active (you know, work and stuff).

It will take a lot of time before we can contest this *** again, because we need to catch up heavily in levels department and then vamp ourselves as well or get some dedicated group with only purpose being fighting vampires. It will take time, it's not something that can be done over a day or two. I admit I was a bit shocked seeing that the previous emperor left, but I guess he had enough of that mass VR vampire BS that went to this campaign (only proving that magicka heavy builds with vampire template are the way to go for PvP)

just so you guys know the previous emperor didn't leave because of losing he left to give other people in dc a chance to become emperor.

I'll introduce ourselves. We are Society of Shadows (EP). We play on Skullcrusher. We prefer to go up against overwhelming odds as opposed to jumping on the bandwagon and ganging up on one server. This is where we will be. Lord Rael is our guild leader. We run a 24 man team, tho most of us are not of veteran rank yet. We do run military style tactics, and many of us are still in the early stages of learning. We will give you a fair fight without cheating or using exploits, we expect the same.

Last night we held on to our two keeps until we finally succumbed to overwhelming forces. We try and do PvP every night. You can contact our guild leader if you want to coordinate across guilds. That being said, if we work out a plan we also expect that plan to happen and not have rogue parties off doing their own thing in the middle of a joint exercice, while the rest are following the battleplan. With that said, It's nice to meet everyone.

You may also contact me in game for any reason at any time. Good Day.

@ Dleatherus- Hey nice to meet you. I was going to point out that we dont spec ourselves specifically for pvp, as wuld be in most games. We (myself included) play the class we enjoy with the build made according to how we just like to play. So what you get from us is just that. Now it's not to say we dont respec to see what works better for us. We arent eliteist y any means, but we do love a good fight. One fight we want to see about coordinating is an open field style battle. Open field, no siege equipment, just a whole bunch of people. Ideally no magic either, just old style melee and ranged weapons like in the old days. Would you guys be interested in trying an old style battle something? We's have to use the honor system of course, but no magic and no seige equip., just an old style battle like back in the days.

I was going to ask (if you guys want to say) which guilds are you with since theres not an easy way to tell in game.

For us is Society of Shadows [SS] from old style UO.

I was just curious about who Dleatherus and a few of the other major posters rep.

Lemme know unless your prefer to keep that on the downlow.

    Thanks!

You would have to be part of a big guild with alot of people in various timezones that run and day and night shifts if you want to keep a map. We do our things nightly in our timezone which is mainly NA server central and eastern times. We have a few players from other countries, but we just arent interested in joining up on a bigger guild. Mainly the majority of us are RP'rs, well as much as u can RP in todays mmo's. For EB we would have to get better crganized as an alliance and get some more coordination amonst our guilds, which will take time. What hurts any side is when multiple guilds working together, all the sudden , have individual or teams decide to go off on their own and take an elder scroll or a keep( for example) that isnt in the plan or a priority. Some people are glory hogs, or just dont like to be told what to do. Those are the people that cause our side to lose. Really the truth is that teamwork overcomes any spec or build. A players individual skill can only take you so far, it's the whole team working as one unit that really gets things done.

The guild I am with is The Noore

I'm all for setting up something along the lines you mention though the logistics could become very complicated

things to be agreed upon and ironed out -

the not using of siege weapons isn't an issue and easily monitored

it starts to get tricky beyond that - the 'no magic' criteria can be a tough one to get around - sorcs couldn't use their spells but could a DK use his 'spell' of dark talons etc?
    - how about healing?
    - potions?
    - ultimates?
    - any level considerations?

one way around this could be to agree upon doing a 5 vs. 5 as a test and not allowing the use of ANY abilities - just light and heavy attacks using melee weapons and bows - this includes not using bow abilities like snipe, poison arrow etc - this ensures a more even playing field for those that are more magic oriented against those like me who have all the bow abilities maxed

if this was to prove successful we could take it from there

there are a number of locations around cyrodiil that are perfect for small to large scale encounters of this kind that are off the beaten path

    thoughts?

Ok for the "Braveheart" style battle:

First we should spend some time planning for the setup (my ideas would be)

    1. Both (or all three) meet up on a giant open field on opposing ends of the field. Guild Leaders would setup their players in a old style formation. Sword and board in front, duel wielders in the middle, archers in the rear. Mage classes have to wield melee or ranged etc etc.

    2. Guild Leader would meet in the middle of the field to make sure both sides are ready (I am not sure u can do whispers, or could be on teamspeak i guess) We would go over the rules (no magic, no flanking or leaving the immediate area to sneak from behind, no stealth no special abilities, just like the old days, fight with honor to the death, one time, no rezzing etc) Kind of like a reenactment.

3.Sword and board charging from all sides (like the wall of death, archers not allowed into the initial fray) Once all parties clash, then the fight in on.

I think you get the idea. This would give us a sense of the challenges of medevil combat utilizing the basics etc etc.

It would be better to have some GM refs or have special skills temorarily disabled for the event. We could make multiple runs with different rules. Maybe the grand finale being all skills enabled and u use magic and well, play the way we currently do. Main thing is to keep the battle in one place and not outflanked from way away.

So if you guys have connections or we can figure out a future date that we can work this out with the GMs that would be great. I'd rather take some time planning this out for awhile so it'd be really good. Ideally I wouldnt want outside parties coming in and trashing our planned event, because I would really like to see how these battles were in days of old.

Ok, well lemme know, hopefully we can make this happen, in like a month or so.

Basic rules would have to apply, u fight by left clicking or right clicking or both buttons for a knockback. Just straight up lvl 1 fighting style so to speak. Just as u would fight in the real world battle reenactments. We would need GMs and some kind of way to reset the fight, or bouts. I agree it would be complicated, so I wouldnt even rush the planning stage. I think as long as we talk to our guys and explain to them the VERY detailed rules, we should be ok. This isnt about kills, or points or winning (tho of course we all want to win) its just for fun and to see how hard it would be, the numbers of casualities etc, like a science experiement sorta.

-- Just left and right click fighting (something we'd have to work on with rules etc)

    - how about healing? ( We can try no potions at first, then maybe slot 1 or 5, in order to make the fight last longer)

    - ultimates? (I'd say no ultimates)
    -
    - any level considerations? (well, no level restrictions at first, we could work on that issue later, if we feel its causing too much of a problem, stuff we'd have to learn about i guess)

-- the issue with snipe, I would say no to snipe at first for the smaller trial tests, snipe is kinda remnistent (mispell) of how they did it in the old days (the flight path, shooting way up in the air and it randomly hitting whoever is in the mix etc)

So yes there is lots of complicated details to work out and we could experiment with just a 24 man group at first, I would think 24 is good to start off with. We can make a special teamspeak channel for example to do all this in. Like you said we can try all this out and refine it into something bigger or more complicated. Later on we could apply these type of events into a defend a keep or assault type stuff. This is just something different and fun we culd try to kind of take us back. We can still do our regular stuff, but it would be nice to have a monthly old school event or something. Hopefully, you see where I am going with this. But yeah I think starting off with a 24 man team would be an ok start so long as we both have honest good players on both sides. My guild is all about this kinda of fun. I think you guys are too. Later on we can changes the rules as we see fit and try different things. I do want to try the hardcore rules first and see how that goes. We could handicap players as needed to make up for levels etc. Lower level might get the use of a limited number of potions vs the higher levels. We just have to balance and tailor it to our needs.

i might be mistaken - but i wouldn't count upon nor expect any kind of GM involvement in this

as such we need to set up the rules between ourselves

the idea of no horses, no stealth, no rezzes, no potions, no abilities and no ultimates slotted is a good one and i agree to it - an iron man type slug fest

after the battle 'spectators' - who would need to stay within a predefined 'safe' area could rez the fallen with soul gems and could have another round

to start with i would suggest we just do a us vs. you 24 man situation to see how it goes - if it goes south it's easier to figure what went wrong and what needs adjusting

the field of battle could be delineated as a rectangle/square the corners of which are set by buildings/geographical things like a mountain range, river etc

a map of this would be agreed upon beforehand and shared with each other - on the day of battle both groups would 'walk the field' to ensure that there is no misunderstanding

within the field of battle any maneuvers and strategies that do not break the agreed upon rules are allowed - ie. if one side wants to employ a lot of archers and the other side wants a sword and board melee rush - have at it - not wanting 'your archers pulled out melee weapons too soon' stuff - that has all to do with tactics and strategy within the conditions we agree upon

if all or part of one team is clearly pushed out of the field of battle, or tries a flanking maneuver that clearly takes them outside the agreed upon boundaries, those involved are deemed to have fled the field of battle for that fight (those who did the pushing are still in the fight - it's the ones that got pushed out that have to 'retire' for that round - we don't have chalk lines, line judges or instant replay to define this - and i'm not going to get into heated debates as to whether one members foot was over the line or not

i think if the two of us meet up in cyrodiil we can find a place that for example has mountains on one end, a river or trees to define the other end, and flanking features easily identified

    D.

p.s. I also suggest we take this conversation private to not clutter up the thread that is for the whole of the SC campaign - those that are interested can always pm us, and we can do a post back here of the results and seeing if others want to give it a try

As a main PvE player that has been joining and fighting in PvP when I get a chance have to say that this weekend brought out a perfect example of the 3 faction aspect and of good AD players.

I joined the PvP fight at a time when there were AD 1 bar / EP 3 bars / DC 2 bars ... the map had EP with 4 keeps and pushing AD Roe with DC holding Ash. At that point I joined a group going for Brindle to get an extra keep to let EP finish off AD to dethrone emperor. After a bit when we noticed EP wasn't getting Roe a few moved towards Roe to help but only got 1 attempt in before EP took Ash also so our spawn got cut. No problem just focus on Brindle and then on getting scroll back since EP will focus on dethroning and getting their own emperor ... right? makes sense. Unfortunately EP troops at Ash decided to move towards Brindle and hit us there and at no point moved for nikel/Roe.

After about 1 hour and a half of seeing no progress from Ash/Nikel/Roe I decided to join the small (initially) DC zerg that were attacking Ash only to find that they had at least 1 pro group + 1 zerg group defending the keep. My estimate was 40+ players from EP fighting what grew to be 70+ players (think there was 1 organized DC group but rest were pure zerg) with 10 AD players at some point joining in at the outer walls for some fun. During this time DC groups kept asking for everyone to stop attacking Ash so EP could focus on AD at Roe (while I get the general idea ... what makes you think that if they haven't done it untill then they'll start now?)

This happened for over an hours time in which numbers constantly dropped on EP and DC sides till numbers dropped enough for AD to push again. (Congrats where they are due to AD defense at Roe) Overall it was a fun weekend PvP but annoying at times ... hence the long post/rant.

it was brilliant fun - i hear you fully on the 'frustration' of 3 alliance warfare

when DC used to paint the entire map blue every day for 10 days straight, we in AD would be exasperated that if EP made a push, after taking chalman and blue road, instead of pushing DC aleswell and ash, they would come and take our 'home' imperial keeps of arrius and roebeck

it did create the situation of AD having to fight EP now since EP effectively positioned themselves between AD and DC, but that strategy was their call and they have crowned an emperor going that way around first a couple of times before

My guild Crimson Order was effectively leading the assault for EP. We managed to take those 4 keeps in less than 30 mins. But then when the people up South started focused on you guys (DC) I was screaming in zone chat for them to leave you all alone. We could tell you all were trying help us dethrone the empress, however there was a small group of EP that refused to let you all have Ash. We do appreciate the uncoordinated teamwork between our two factions. I think Skullcrusher is a great campaign and it is only getting better. AD you better believe The Crimson Order will be knocking at your front door this weekend.
