Daily Endeavor: Acquire 2 New Mundus Stone Boons

It's not improbable that a new player is out there, trying out all of the mundus stones they come across, but I would bet good money that most players are already happy with what they have and if they want to complete this endeavor, they're just running to get the one they need for the daily and then back to the one they actually use. Asking players to travel back and forth across maps multiple times for this is not fun, is not engaging, is nothing other than the most mindless of busy work that this game has to offer.

I can stomach one, but more than one is beyond the pale. Endeavors have gotten out of hand.

That's why two is okay for me ;) But I wouldn't be surprised if it will also be increased after some time, to 3, 4 or even 5. Does it make sense? As much as crafting x items just to deconstruct them again, or travel to a set station one is not interested in just to craft the cheapest thing for the daily.

Obviously it's the same thing you're doing anyway, but the point is that this is a trend, and the more it becomes acceptable, the further and further it will be pushed.

Unfortunately I'm not sure whether our opinion on this really matters. People have been complaining about increased numbers before, but things didn't get better. And now the numbers are higher than ever before.

This endeavor has been around for a good long while; it has not been increased recently. It's actually nice that it's for 2 rather than just 1, because as you said, "most players are already happy with what they have and if they want to complete this endeavor, they're just running to get the one they need for the daily and then back to the one they actually use." If it were for only 1, it would more or less be asking for people to change from the one they're already hapoy with to a different one.

Note that most zones have 2 or 3 Mundus Stones, so it should be easy to check the zone maps to see which zones have the one you're already using (I think there should be 3 basegame zones that fit the bill, one per alliance), and see which one has its Mundus Stones most conveniently placed in relation to wayshrines and terrain.

But many player guilds have all of the Mundus Stones in their guildhalls, so if you're in such a guild then it's even faster to get this particular endeavor done.

I'd use an Armory Assistant/Station to change your Mundus Boon so you don't need to find two different Mundus Stones.

Uh. I ported to Windy Glade Auridon, ran to the Lady stone used it, then ported to Quendelun Auridon, ran down used the Lover stone. What's hard about that? I did it on 8 mains, in less than 10 minutes.

I'm sure more than one player today realized they didn't actually have a mundus buff active.

I did other stuff instead of that endeavour, since you can only do 3 out of 5.

Fortunately, the new Home Tours allows even those without guilds to visit others' homes, and many guilds are putting their homes up.

I know a lot of people were disappointed with Home Tours, but it does allow people to go to use many guild amenities without being in guilds. I actually get a lot of use out of it since it does let me port to homes I don't own and then exit right to those locations.

It's definitely preferable to Kill 100 enemies for 10 or 15 seals, and Complete two Heists for the same reward.

A lot of major guilds have all of the Mundas stones in their guildhouse standing right next to each other. This is an issue anyone can fix by joining a good guild or just porting to wayshrines near mundas stones.

Endeavours are just objectives set to gain seals - nothing more, nothing less. Sometime they concord with other usual objectives we do while playing, sometime no.

Yeah, maybe acquiring new mundus boon feels more artificial than, say, killing stuff, vendoring stuff, crafting stuff, or killing stuff with weapons skills / class skills / poison / scribing skills, using skills altering with style, healing with scribing skills, dooing specific dailies, doing battleground / arena / dungeon / trial / public dungeon, etc. Or maybe not really.

In the end, endeavours are just things you are ask to do in game. Not necesseraly fun things, interesting things, or doubly profitable things - because the primary reward is the seals. Sometime you will do them without doing them, sometime you'll just tweak a bit what you're doing so the endeavours fit in, sometimes you'll have to do the endeavours.

And, really, I don't see how it is 'running out of endeavours ideas'.

Hitting up two mundus stones has come up plenty of times before. So has hitting up one. It's nothing new.

If anything, having to do two makes more sense because most people will have to use a second one to get their original mundus buff back anyway.

If you're not in a guild, there are several that are close to a wayshrine like Alikr Stables or Wittestadr Eastmarch.

Go into Home Tours and see if you can find a guild home. Find one with all the amenities. Favorite it.

    Never have this problem again.

Although, frankly this is one of the easiest endeavors they offer and it's no different than what I'd be doing if it was just one mundus stone. So, I personally a difference between pickup 1 and pickup 2 for the majority of the players.

Very new players who have none may have to do a bit of research, but they have to research lots of things in this game and probably aren't worried about endeavors anyway.

I think the mundus stone task is an easier one than many others, but honestly: Is there anyone who actually really enjoys doing endeavours? I'd think the majority only does them to get the seals, and the easier and faster it's over, the better.

I do not agree. Endeavours are not always supposed to be easy. However there are a total of five each day and usually three of them are not so hard. New players have a tough time with most of the endeavours, such as kill ten flame attronachs, they may not have a port shrine near one for example. Or dig up one treasure map. Just about any goal is not going to be easy like it is for many of us.

It does suck from a new player perspective I'll give you that. They can join a guild and just ignore everyone if they don't like guilds. They can use it to port to other players opening up wayshrines, sell their items and use the guild houses to change mundus stones. I'm in two trading guilds that i use just for those things, not a lot of chatting there anyway.

I enjoy them when they're something I don't mind doing. I won't do the "kill x of y" ones because I just don't think it's fun to kill stuff. And I won't do the group-y ones because I don't ever group. Crafting, gathering resource nodes, swapping mundus stones, that sort are all fine and fun.

I believe this particular endeavor is one of the "original" ones, and has been coming up from time to time since the beginning of endeavors. It seems to vary between 1 or 2 Mundus Stones, but even when it's just for 1 Mundus Stone I suspect that most players who opt to complete it will do 2 Mundus Stones anyway so they can revert back to their preferred one.
    Syldras wrote: »

I enjoy doing most of the endeavors, and usually try to combine 3 of them in such a way that I can do all 3 in the same zone. For instance, yesterday I went to Craglorn to harvest Blacksmithing nodes, kill Flame Atronachs, and do the 2 daily quests up in Upper Craglorn which can be done at the same time (kill the troll and its master and retrieve the medallions, and burn the banners and kill Agganor and stick his helmet on a pike).

It isn't always possible to combine 3 of the 5 endeavors that way, but I do like to use them as a springboard for choosing my in-game activities on any given day. And I always choose endeavors for activities that I enjoy doing anyway, or at least don't have a strong disinclination toward.
